Free As A Bird-please listen to the youtube music

You create legends

of iconic proportions

and of dimensions unimaginable

OH, flesh of mine.

The dawn of your appearance was like that of spring's

first kiss

and the budding promise of a life's-worth of

enchantment

that murmured the illusion that you would keep your

blush

and live forever.

Meanwhile, each hour is vigilantly keeping my time

YOUR time

in the sun,

on close watch.

Faded memories

and PAIN'S grip on your once graceful

form

brings you closer to the edge of flying away

and letting

ME

be

free as a bird.

Each day, I am breaking out of your delicate

shell

as a new born cluster of wings

bursting through the cracks

for

"We are not human beings having a

spiritual experience

but rather spiritual beings

having the human experience."

- Teilhard de Chardin

Rejoice

Oh yes! Rejoice! Especially one day after having celebrated the Annunciation!
I love the gown under "Blush!" That is just a work of art. And how lovely of you to include Elizabeth Taylor in this poetic work of words and images which you put together so beautifully and which is special only to you, dear Anita!

Thank you so much for your lovely words about my little cat, Edward. I am just so thrilled - it's been such a long road for him. Tails are just so important for our animal friends - in ways we just never know - until they lose one!
Blessings for a lovely Spring Break!

Dearest Anita: This poem is sublime!
I am so thankful to believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. In my particular case, this belief continually reminds me that time on this earth is limited and that I need to make the most of it (by being happy so those around me can be happy too).

A few of my friends seem to be so sad that they are losing their youth. I have to admit I'm not jumping up and down about my growing waist size and the new wrinkles on my face. Of course I would like to have my 20-year old body back. However, I wouldn't trade the wonderful years I've lived so far for the chance of being young again. I'm happy to be this age and to finally appreciate life to its fullest (to be, in one word, "free" to being ME).

Enjoy your week off, dear Anita.
Besos.
PS: I am doing a post on Monday that will feature that beautiful Valentino (or is it Versace?) dress. I guess it is true that great minds think alike :-)

Even today I was thinking about this-the spirits we are and the sisters souls we have spread all over the world- and thank God for let me know some of them through internet.
If it was not for internet, probably I would never know you...and you make a difference in my life, Anita, believe me...
The most important indeed, it isn't the time, the place, the age or whatever, but the souls, the spirits we are...
Let's us fly in the wings of LOVE (the verb form as you say).

Dearest Anita, i love this quote - it's very touching and allows to see things from a new and quite exiting angle! Also, i love the wonderful robes and costumes here - just marvellous. And you on your harp in that shimmery dress that fits you so well! I can look at these pix again and again! Have been working in the garden and then to town with my hubby and bought a bunch of polka-dot cups! It was still cold but fun. My goodness , you have quite a creative mind there Anita.

(kinda off the subject) Liz Taylor was my mom's most favorite actress. My but she loved her back in the day.

anyway, I liked "life's worth of enchantment".....reading your blog is certainly enchanting.
I'd like to think I could have a life's worth of enchantment.
Fly like a bird...expand, reach heights

and I have heard many times the quote by de Chardin.....we are indeed here having the Human experience, and the Lord just wants us to "soar" to the spiritual beings we really are.

that's what I think anyway.

you are the harp is a gorgeous gorgeous photo.
sending hugs your way

oh anita you have captured perfectly free as a bird..the gowns are just dreamy...you look dreamy...and you have reminded me with that verse that we indeed will soar...and a dreamy sunday for you...cheers, dzintra

wendy said...

oh, and another thought. I also think if we are FREE as a bird, then nothing is clipping our wings and tying us down, from our potential.
I know that, but don't always seem to incorporate that into MY life like I should.
But, I also know, my son, is now soaring high, and is FREE from the human experience that he found so very hard......

Dearest Anita
What an absolutely stunning post! That quote is divinity itself as we are both human and spiritual. You have given such a gorgeous reflective look at how so many people especially women fear growing older and yet they shouldn't be ..... it is one step to being free with who you are and confidant of your footprint on this earth! I was reading an article the other day when I was on a plane about Zelda Kaplan in New York City. She is one of the "main socialites" in the city and is at every party and her presence is much coveted. She is 94 years old!!!!! She looks amazing and her philosphy on life is incredible .... She says " I love not knowing what is going to happen .... tomorrow, this afternoon or in the next hour." She thrives on meeting new people and aging seems to have invigorated her rather than depleted her energies. I think this depth comes from a true belief in oneself and the greater picture for us all. It is not an end but merely a beginning .....

I sometimes have the feeling that with age come lightness of spirit... like we are giant balloons tethered by dozens of ropes and weights. As we grow older and wiser we lose them... and rise up. The ropes and weights are prejudices, self-doubt, unreasonable expectations... we rise on the lightness of dreams, understanding and our spirits.

Lovely thoughts and images, lovely Anita. We are meant to fly.

What a wonderful thought...your wish for me to have a dreamy day. I love that. This post felt like a ride on a floating cloud experience. Fluffy, soft and warm just like you.

If you could ride on the back of a bird to the land of Enchantment what kind of bird would it be? I'll be the girl with the curl on the robin with all her little ones following behind.

So sad, I have to pay for blogger. Yikes, who would have thought we would need to do that? Trying to start a new blog instead on Word Press. Seems like I have a challenge in front of me.

Please tell Ruben I typed out a long comment on his post about religion and the dumb thing was lost...I'll try again when I have a minute for sure!

Love you honey bunch...will send email soon with an update!

Good Morning to you!

I wish I could sit with you today over a cup of tea! How fun would that be.

Glad to hear your feeling better...yes I so agree walking is the best! Sitting is a no no for sure. I hope that today I get out and about a bit...Sydney and I want to make a trip into this sweet little village..you would LOVE it. Filled with adorable sweet shops..old and new.
It will be good for my back which is still not feeling well.
Sending you my love for another grand day...hope you have something special in store.

First i LOVE the pic of your Grandmother "the drama queen". Is Grand mere Marie the same lady?
I told Karen Harvey Cox that indeed her art is beautiful, but her name sounds so beautiful in my little head when I say it.
I'm in a very reminiscent mind space today, not sure what it is. My head is full of faded memories like that pretty Audrey bicycle under that tree. Maybe the lack of sleep lately. I've had days of insomnia ; (
I could SOOOOO see you in that exquisite pale pink gown with the rosettes. OMG, stunning, like you Anita.
Oh I just glanced over to my right... WOW I must go see your studio lamp. LOVE IT... and you my friend.
It's nearly Thursday, then one more day at school for you. I'm off to the French side on Friday ; )
Love You
Love Me

I am picking you up right now, sweet Anita. Here we go *** ~~~ *** ~~~**^~*^~*~^~*
Let's have a nice big cup of comfort together apart, my friend.
Our weather is chilly, grey and rainy today. I decided to not cook and hit the road for a drive through, we will have sushi.
Beaucoup de bisous, off to put the kettle on. Take good care, sweetest Anita xxxxxxx

Good evening my friend...sorry I have not visited today...I have been trying to nurse my back and sitting at my computer has been double trouble for it. Today I seemed to be back to where it was a few days ago.

I have been busy baking all day as standing is a good thing. Hope your days have been filled with adventure and REST! Sending you oodles of love...I hope to go into Vancouver tomorrow and do some walking which will help my back...the blossoms are all out!

Hugs and love. xoxoxo

Keep writing!!
