Anita, about those turkeys, they didn't happen to be wearing straw hats and speak with a rich southern accent, did they?? My turkey boys ran away from home a while back, we thought they had gone into the woods, but maybe they decided that way up north was the place to be. Please send them home, we miss their gobbley little voices!

Dearest Anita, I will for sure borrow the nile-green dress you put into your post. The color, the flow of fabric - all this would be very much "me". (except the size, hihi)
I have already made a note to come and visit next weekend, and see what everybody is posting/talking about.
Did I tell you that I am hatching an embroidery design with a "Paris" theme? I already have two Marie Antoinette and one Versailles Potager designs, and I am always again drawn to French themes...
Have a gorgeous weekend with lots of sun and blooming roses !

Hello Anita,

I have read your comments here and there, but primarily on Cecilias's Desde my Ventana blog and I just met your sister in-law Nancy at Chateau Sonama's annual French Flea mMrket event. She was charming and your name came up. I told her, I am familiar with the name and then I pieced it together. I found out we have another affinity besides all things French: we are both educators. I taught Spanish for 12 years. My respects!

Hi Anita,
I've been swamped with end of the school year madness-administering exams, grading, tons of paperwork... I can't wait for Summer!!! I am super excited about attending the Paris Party on Saturday. I need a getaway:-). Wonderful post!! XX

Rosie said...

OH Dearest, are you lounging, with those tired toes elevated, and a feather pillow under your weary head?
Here I am with a frozen, strawberry smoothie to ease you into SUMMER mode. Your wild and crazy charges, are ready to kick up up their heels, with a little MOTOWN beat. They are SO fortunate to have you dear one :)
Ahhh... I am tired too, and can't wait for the heat of the sun to ease these cranky bones.
Managed to get the upstairs done today so am ready for Ry to come home for the weekend. Apparently there is an antique car "flea market"...where they sell car parts and other goodies for those car enthusiasts...I prefer a little more WHITE GOODNESS myself...giggle.
Tomorrow, I'll be back in the garden and bake a few cookies for my boy's return. It shall be a GRAND day indeed...SMILIN' VERY BIG...I shall leave a few "White Chocolate Chip" cookies and a smooth "Vanilla Latte" out for you, dearest friend.
See you in the morning...Rosie

NYC was fun. I did not see where the new Laduree will be. I was never able to get the address. My understanding is that it will be on Madison Avenue.
I may take another short trip later during the summer.. it depends how much free time I have.
Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead! xoxo, B

Dearest Anita, thank you for your sweet comment! Yes, beauty and elegance are not a question of age - i so love to see older women who are well dressed! All the seasons are pretty - and deserve to be seen so. I've been thinking about Paris all week - and hope to come up with thus inspired artwork too soon. Can't wait to see your post coming up tomorrow! Have a splendid day :)

Well you've always got to have SOMEONE late to that party! I stopped by 2 days ago and I guess my comment didn't register :( That was the same day I sent several emails that were never received either...hmmmm. Oh well, timing is everything, so apparently there was a higher hand in telling me I wasn't supposed to "speak" that day :) What a lovely idea and quite the blog roll!! My last visit to Paris was 13 years ago...my how time flies. Memories never age though :) Fruit, wine, cheese, pastries, flowers, cafe, fashion, museums, it's all so picture taking perfection. It is special because for such a busy place, there is a sense of who cares what time it is. I loved that..in the city of love XX, Kelly

Simply Irresistible? Oh my word girl you nailed this one. I love it. How exquisite.

I want to play as well. I can't believe I missed it. Add me, add me. Is there anything better than being simply irresistible?

My mind is already swimming with ideas, thoughts, colors, words, phrases, and I thought today was going to be restful.

I will be here for the celebration and thank you so much for the invite.

Have a glorious weekend sweet friend. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

Hi Anita,
I just found your gorgeous blog tonight, and I'm over the moon about a Paris party!! I love Paris as much as you all do, try to get over there as often as I can, and hope I'm not to late to get in on this. I'll post your adorable drawing on my blog, and then hope I'm on the adventure!! I'm not sure what else I do because I'm not the best blogger. But I've got a whole page on Paris! Oh, and this has taken me forever to write because I had to dance to your "Simply Irresistible" at least 3 times!
A bientot, and merci!

YES, Dear one I am READY to go! Suitcases are stacked by the door and my shoes are shined :) Can't WAIT!
Ahhh dearest, you are buying your herbs and will be in your glory tomorrow. What are your favorites, your tried and true? I plant many, but parsley, basil, rosemary, and dill are my favorite. I have a rot iron window box just outside my kitchen window. The only dillema being, that it is under the eaves just far enough, so it does not get watered, unless I do it...which is not an issue, as long as I remember to do it :)
I will pop a few white geraniums in amongst. Your white impatiens sound charming. I will pick up my herbs tomorrow too, after I visit the vintage market...This is always so much fun! wish you could accompany me...Oh my little "bug" would be piled to the roof with treasures of all sorts. Will let you know how this goes. If you want to go to their site it is http://www.theoldschoolmarket.blogspot.com/
Well my darling, I shall be in Paris bright and early...we will meet at the outdoor cafe for a steaming vanilla latte and a hand-made crepe rolled with fresh strawberries in a brown sugar glaze, topped with vanilla-scented yogurt and sprinkled with a fresh blueberries.
If you get there first, save us a good table...see you in the morning...love Rosie

Please remove my original photo from your blog post - it was not used with my permission or credited back to me. It is a licensed photo and my client is not happy seeing it on your blog. It is the photo of the neck of the dress form with the vintage jewelry looped around it. Perhaps if you cannot find the original credit for a photo and/or do not have permission to use it, you shouldn't. That would "be nice". Thanks.
