But to what lengths are we willing to go
to
love?
love?
The only way to maintain that dewy and enchanting glow
we seek
we seek
while trying to arrest the merciless hands of time from
is to ACT
and enter in through the time-worn doors of our lives
in order to find new portals of promise
that remind us that
or to caution us that
But for this journey
Love
in order to find new portals of promise
that remind us that
or to caution us that
But for this journey
Love
is the
only
only
garment
that will keep us sparkling

Dear Anita,
You have a wonderful ability to connect with those parts of us that want to burst all our chains (age, time, lack of belief in ourselves, etc.) and explode into flight.
I LOVE this post, and you.
Ruben
Good Saturday morning Anita! I noticed your theme of the pastel blue/green as soon as I seen your header with the mint chips on top of the chocolate! Thank you for starting my weekend off with "food for thought"! ps...also enjoyed your sidebar of pics of glimpses of your new space...looks beautiful!~Hugs, Patti

So beautiful Anita...bu then everything is here on your blog!
Happy weekend,
Mimi
Bonjour mon ami Anita! What lovely photos you once again share with us. But the message in them and your wonderful inspiring words, brilliant and so true. I love the the reference to the watching ice cream melt... that would be a crime, yet we often treat our dreams with such criminal neglect.
Your post today is following a day filled with discussion (friday) with a dear friend, of exactly that dreams of the future. I think my little Angels are saying followed them through your beautiful post today!!
Love what you did with the lamp in your studio ... oh how wonderful it with be to sit in your studio for awhile , chatting and enjoying some tea... perhaps I would even get to see/hear you play your beautiful harp!!! Wisjing you a wonderfully blessed week-end.. and merci for the your wonderful inspiring words!! xo HHL
I wonder if you find the photos and then write your beautiful stories. Or if the story comes first and then you find the images. Either way, you have an amazing gift which you share with us with each post. Sending love...
You are such a gifted person. I am glad to know and love you and our friendship! You and Ruben will sparkle always! Stars. Blessings.
Dear Anita,
I adore your sweet writing and photographs, dear friend.
Especially seeing Audrey Hepburn who always radiated so much love and kindness.
It is 12.22 am and should be in bed but I quickly checked my blog.
Sending hugs to you for a wonderful weekend.
Carolyn
When I was a girl I read a quote from John Barrymore that has stayed with me. "Man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams."
When I was young the words made me observant... I saw what regret did to older people and never wanted to be weighed down by bitterness. Now that I am older... it is a reminder. Regrets make you old and suck the life out of you.
Dreams make you young because trying to fulfill them constantly refreshes you. To paraphrase Shakespeare, your bounty is as boundless as the sea... the more you give to dreams the more you have, for both are infinite.
Keep your light burning, lovely Anita!
Hi Anita, great post, deep and meaningful, it must take you a long time to match just the right photo to your writing, I so enjoy how you link them together. You do know that by chasing your goals time slows down.
Pop over anytime the kettle will always be on, of course you only get a cup of tea after a good long walk lol!!! I was good and left the ducks alone.
Have a good week
Love and Hugs to you,Ruben and of course my furiend Balzac
See yea George xxx

Hi Anita, thanks for leaving a sweet comment on my Blog. I am so looking forward to seeing your stone angel. I love the quote "having a dream you don't pursue is like buying an ice cream cone and watching it melt all over your hand." At first I laughed but then its really true! I have been painting my lil heart out this week and have to make another post soon! XOXOXO

I love you!
Nancy
P.S. Thank you so much for posting my link on your side bar.
I absolutely loved this post. It was so creative. The little girl on your Header is exquisite. I did a post about Open Doors, and your door reminds me of the piture on our post. You have such a way with words. I'm so glad to have met you.
~Sheri at Red Rose Alley
Anita- you have outdone yourself!!!!!!!!! LOVED this post, it made my smile, laugh and cry all at the same time. You totally proved the power of pictures and music and when together the combination is just right.....the effect is truly magical.
That young girl in your header is so beautiful, those eyes! Then the soldier staring in awe at what I presume is his newborn child being seen for the first time is so moving. The nature, the rustic beauty in the doors...it is all true perfection and proof that the best things in life really are free......feeling, seeing and believing!
XO
PS Love your new header....beautiful!
You have no idea how timely this post is for me, right now! Thank you Anita, it brought tears. :)
xo
Hello Georgeous,
Great that you stopped by today to look at my etchings! It was naughty of me not to credit that photo but I have done it now and the link to the bottles idea is under the image. I am really bad and sometimes forget where I found things.
Much Love - have a great weekend
Di
XOXO
Me again, I delved a little further and the bottles idea originally came from Yankee Magazine, complete with instructions here:

Seems like I was not the only one who thought this was neat!

I an just in a daze, sitting here looking at all your gorgeous images...I think I've been "over the rainbow" about 9 times now, but I just can't leave!!!!! And your words are so inspiring, Anita. And so true. WE do set about to be noticed, and loved, and so often forget that the Lover of our Soul is the One who makes us lovable, and gives us the ability to love, truly and without reservations or conditions.
Have a beautiful weekend, dear lady!
dawne@quiddity2
I just read all the wonderful comments..what more could I say?? So...I just will say how much I loved each photo..each word. Your blog is a real joy to wonder through. Thank you!
Dear Anita,
What loveliness! I have recently been listening to the audio cd of Rhonda Byrne's "The Power", which explains in detail how love and gratitude can create miracles in our lives, and your post goes right along with all that she said. I love the quotes and photos, too!
Love,
Marqueta
p.s. Ahh, the piano~ and harps, and all sorts of music!
Such an amazing post, Anita ~ and so perfect for me right now!
I haven't flown in 10 years... {last time was a month before 9/11}
I faced my fears of flying to get those very missed hugs from my son, Jason. It kept me going and got me on the second flight.
We're taking a little break from our kayaking / and long walks afternoon...
almost ready to go out again ~
I'm so glad I stopped by! I want to share this post with my daughter ~ she'll love it!
She's flying to LA in a few days to spend the summer ~ in an apartment near her boyfriend. She's so nervous and yet, so happy!
You always seem to touch on such important themes in a person's life ♥ it's a beautiful way to minister to people near and far!
Happy weekend to you ♥ Maria
I just love going through this journey of life with you. My apologies for not being more "with it" and writing on your blog more. In the past, I've just commented once a week, but I do think to love you is such a pleasure, it's really my dream come true. So, as I'm on a mission to cultivate friendships more, love more and dream more...I've moved you to the very top of my list and that's where you should be.
You beautiful dreamer, full of love. Thanks for all your effort you put into your blog Anita and you are so faithful to so many in friendship. I'm blessed to count you as my friend.
Dear Anita
Such gorgeous images you have chosen today.. I will have to look through them all again and soak it in..
Well.. I may have to take the Act NOW.. as a sign.. I need to make a big leap.. and am finding all sorts of excuses to avoid it.. I'll take your enthusiasm and optimism as encouragement... [just need to kick this flu first]
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.. ciao xxx Julie
This is really beautiful.
Beautiful post my sweet friend. Stunning words and images!
Well today I think I overdid it just a bit...my back is giving me some grief. I think it was our garage we had to tackle today...too many treasures to pack up.
Off for a hot bath and some Advil and into bed.
Hope your day was delightful in every-way my sweet friend.

Oh dear Anita....."The world LOVES a LOVER" and I just adore you and your blog.

Thank you for your sweet words today Anita, yes, giving more attention to love, and less to what's bugging us is the best means to spread more happiness, for ourselves and others. And blogging on the bright side is a great way to keep focused. It's very hot here today, after several days of cold and windy weather, so i have that "siesta" feeling all day. Hope your sunday is filled with loveliness, am sending oodles of joy! xoxo
Anita, dear, you got tears from my eyes...oh, you did!!

Ooo-la-la (that was very frenchy of me wasn't it)...those photos were wonderful.
Every. single. one.
LOVE.....encompasses everything I think. And MUST be acted upon.
It is one of the only things that last FOREVER.
"love never faileth"
The love I HAVE for my family, well, I don't have the words to express it, or a picture to capture it.
It just IS....FOREVER.
Hello Anita,
Yes forever love, is the must wonderful thing in our life.
Thank you for this inspiring and touching post
Hugs
Cecilia
Your post are always as inspiring as can be, Anita. How I love popping in here. Are you ready for the Summer holidays, belle amie? If I am not mistaken you are as free as a bird from now on. Are you up to something fun this Summer?
I am getting ready for the last week of school. Tomorrow, our week is off with the celebration of Midsummer. Children dressed in soft colored clothes, wearing wreaths of flowers on their heads, playing all kind of games outside in the school yard.
I raise my cup of evening tea to you this moment. oxoxoxoxo
absolutely gorgeous!
Oh so true, Anita, and so well put (of course, again!). The older I get the more I allow myself to dream, and to dream big, and the more love seems to grow with each passing day. Love for my family, my traditions, my country, my customs, this world, my friends, life itself. This awareness that appears to only come with the wisdom of years is what seems to bring me that peace, joy, and security that seemed so fleeting some years ago. It's wonderful to grow older, wiser, and happier (wish it would come without the wrinkles!)
Oh, how true! Love is EVERYTHING. As important as dreams are, nothing compares to love.
I hope you had a lovely weekend. How is your class going? I finally heard back from my professor and he allowed me to finish my quiz. That was a relief!
Wishing you a lovely week! xoxo, B
if this post of yours was a person i would hug it with all my heart... yes... i would do that...i would do as you say: Act! thank you for the inspiration and joy! -xok.
Good evening dearest Anita!! I hope you are well and enjoying your weekend. This is such an inspiring post. It is amazing all the heights that we can reach when love is inside us. I know that you are closer everyday to reaching your dreams sweet friend and you have so much love to help you get there.
Thank you for for your sweet words that I love to read on my posts, they really mean so much to me. We had a wonderful time today and meeting fellow bloggers is just amazing.
Enjoy your Monday!!
Much love to you!!
xoxoxo
dearest anita, such magical words. I too love dreaming, loving and sparkling. I think that echoes you perfectly. I hope you can enjoy these things in great abundence this week. Fiona
Dearest friend, you have no idea the impact of your words, along with these amazing photos, cause us to raise the bar just a little higher. My drawing pencils came out yesterday, mother brought a box of watercolors, papers, India ink, brushes...I am inspired to create....to revisit yet another talent left along side the road at some point in the past. You are wise beyond measure...whispering words of truth into our ears ...and causing us to believe...to dream...again...
Much love, many thanks, and wishes for sweet summer days ahead,
Christie
Wow...You have some amazing pictures and inspiring words. It is not too late...

Dearest Anita, what a pleasure to be able to read through this post. I love the picture of the soldier with his little baby. It says more than thousands words! And I LOVE the music you provided for us today! And I'm so happy I still can have new dreams even though I'm soon 40! God is so good! Have a blessed week!

Hello Anita
Inspiring and beautiful post so I shall make this snappy and rush to pursue my dreams. Many thanks
Helen Tilston
Some truly moving images in this post, Anita. The soldier with his newborn, the kitty with the little girl.
And love encourages and sustains.
You don't want to reach old age regretting things you never did. One wants to look back with pleasure at what one has experienced and accomplished or even merely attempted.
Then we can grow old gracefully....so very important.

Hi Blogger Friends today is the LAST DAY to stop by and ENTER~Light as a Feather necklace GIVEAWAY~ it’s an almost $50 value!
Morning sweet friend....is your world sunny today? No sun outside today but there is some in my heart as I have 2 more days left at school...teacher meetings and clean up. I am so looking forward to Thursday as that is my first real day of Summer holidays.
What do you have on your "free as a bird" agenda today my friend?
Hugs to you. xoxoxo
It is amazing how throught your writings one can see your gentle spirit. I love the pictures too.
I hope your are having a lovely morning and getting all these weeds pulled. It is not amazing the feeling after a day's work in the garden? I love it!
Lovingly~
Thank you for your kind words! The hard work is worth every second as I will be sooo happy once I have those degrees in hand.
The most wonderful things in life don't come easy.. I tell my children it won't be easy but I promise them it's WORTH IT!
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead!! xoxo, B
I can attest to the fact that you are never too old to follow your dreams and goals and achieve them. How sad it would be if people just "GAVE UP" when they hit middle age. I didn't publish my first book till I was 50 and I am going to publish at least 8 more if I live that long! Let's all just keep on dreaming and DOING!
I am sorry to always be the last to comment on your great posts, but I have been traveling EVERY weekend to exhibit at shows and I don't get much of a chance to visit my favorite people.Better late than never! Jeri
Gorgeous post and such beautiful images and heartfelt sentiments.....xv
Oh my gosh Anita! What a wonderful post! Love every picture and what a gorgeous saying about the ice cream! Really true!
Thank you for your lovely comment on my post of today my friend!
Kiss,
Greet
Inspiring post dearest Anita!
I hope you are enjoying your summer my beautiful friend!
Love,
LuLu~*xoxo
Sparkly summer greetings sweet friend! So nice to see your pretty face on my blog and read your comments. I know exactly what you mean - quiet time to create is soooo important, and so hard to get. Friends are wonderful, and it's important to be with them and celebrate. But so often days go by, and we still wait for this opportunity to connect with our creative self. Take time - i know you will! Have a lovely evening, bises!
Once again, Jack Lewis hits the nail, squarely, on the head! Fabulous post full of loveliness all over, thank you.
p.s. love IZ and, especially, his version of Over the Rainbow...thanks!
So true..."the greatest of these is love." I love that icecream quote. So good! Maybe we all need to go buy ourselves and icecream cone and eat it before it even drips. :)
Have a lovely day, my friend.
Heidi (hi-d)
How is your Monday so far, dearest? Mine is coming to an end. I would not mind a cool breeze as it has been so so very humid, tomorrow again. Looking forward to the thunder of tomorrow evening. Enjoy your first week of the Summer vacation sweet Anita. Perhaps there are still a few things to finish at school but soon you are as free as a bird. Reading Les Miserables en francais. Tons de plaisirs pour toi, ma lieve vriendin xoxoxoxo

Anita...You just woo me girl! Without love we are nothing is my favorite verse in the Bible from 2 Cor. 13. Who wants to be a clanging symbol, right? Not I, no I choose love. I think I said your last post was my favorite ever...well, you went and topped it! This is now my favorite post. These images are beyond beauty. They move my heart along with your words. How is your summer? I'm thinking magical! ox
p.s thank you for the support for Seawashed...part of my art dream. ox
I hope I never stop dreaming and pursuing goals! I just love how you constantly change your header! It is always a surprise to come and visit. I have to say I saved the purple one - I am going to blog on it one day - no surprise there, that I loved it huh?!!!
You bring beauty to each day. Thanks for your sweet visits, you are always so kind! Have a wonderful tomorrow.
Ahhhhh..Well said my sweet...Delicious images with sprinkles of "sugared words" on top.

I came by the back door earlier this evening and left you a hot cuppa of love...Rosie
Dear Anita,
This one, combined with the song, brought tears to my eyes... So beautiful, enchanting and true... Bless you dear lady for the love and care you put into your lovely posts for all of us from all over the world. It really is amazing how similar we all really are, isn't it?
Blessings!

PS Did my Edward grow a tail for the photo with the little girl? Is he living a life I know nothing about? It looks just like him! :)

Once again,
another brilliant post from you Dear Anita. A great reminder to think about...
I always have dreams, some long-term but mostly short-term, and I always feel good once I get a dream come true no matter how small, like buying a bag or a gorgeous dress.
I really think your posts should be compiled to a book...Now that would really be great! ♥ ♥ ♥
Hello Anita! This post brings tears to my eyes because it speaks so close to my heart. Thank you so much for this encouragement and inspiration in this post! I needed it TODAY for sure. I'm trying to pursue my dreams one day at a time, which is hard because it takes time, yet I get so impatient.
How was your week? I hope each day seems long and wonderful so you have lots of time to work on writing! :)
This past weekend I spent time painting. I hope to get more done this week!!
Have a wonderful day! Sending lots of love your way! xoxo

Hi Anita, This is such an inspirational and motivational post... And you have put it together so classily, really amazed by your ability...
Have a wonderful week ahead:)
What a beautiful post Anita. I love this song too. With all the beauty that you find to compose a post, inspiration comes flying out, just like a magical hot air balloon with every illustrated word.
Have a beautiful day.

Chere Amie,
Thank you again for visiting me! I am so glad this resonated with you. I thought of you, especially, with the "swimming out to your ship" quote. The painting I chose was by Aivazovsky, who painted in Odessa. His works have such depth and soul. Thank you for being such an inspiration to me!
Morning sweet friend...I am off and running! Today and tomorrow..that's it!
My mind is not at school...all I can think about it SUMMER! Hugs for a happy day.

Bonjour dear Anita, First love the new header, beautiful. I've missed you and a few of your post and I'm catching up, away for a little while on vacation. This post is so sweet, and OUI you said it all so well. Lost youthful appearances are not what we are about, we had our time there, so as long we live there are dreams and time is not standing still and waits for no one as my dear dad always said. Beautiful photos and a lovely reminder to tackle those sweet dreams. Merci dear Anita for sharing this post........Your lovely blog is inspiring me to work on mine

Your new post is beautiful and inspiring .....and so many followers left their comments already ......
I'll be back tomorrow . Bedtime overhere . Sweet dreams my friend
Hi Long Lost Friend, I have been MIA for awhile now - traveling and just got back from my week with my Mother in PA. I brought home poison ivy and have now been put on prednizone steroids to get rid of it. Going into my third week now. HOW HAVE YOU BEEN? This post is gorgeous, as usual! I adore the pic of Audrey and the coat following it in the picture. I've been working on my office; you inspired me... The walls are Tiffany Blue, like the Tiffany Jewelry box; the lovely Aqua green/blue. My husband surprised me while I was in PA and had crown molding added - we purchased a butter creme matalasse custom made sleeper sofa for the room and a French inspired black/white fabric will be used for accents in the room. Promise to post prints when I get all the finishing touches done. You must be enjoying your new office immensely! You take care and have a great summer Anita! I'm trying to finish getting ready for Canada - we will sorely miss your presence. NEXT YEAR - Let's DO IT! :) xoxo ~CC
This is beautiful Anita. You are an artist with words.
I always enjoy your thoughts and your insight.
It takes me to a deep place of understanding where that quiet smile erupts.

Good morning, dearest! Your trip to Grasse, France sounds lovely.. and how nice of your tour guide to purchase a bottle of perfume for you.
My favourite perfume is Caron.. it's absolutely exquisite. My husband purchases them for me via their boutique in Paris or NYC. He purchased my last bottle while we were in NYC last month.
Wishing you a lovely day! xoxo, B
Dearest Anita, thanks for coming today! Hope you enjoy vacation time and get enough quiet moments to listen to the muse, who, we all know, has a soft voice. Not the little airplane, but time is flying away with me today - and yesterday - am in a dreamy mood somehow! Lots of love for a happy day!
A beautiful blog ~ I'm entranced by the photos. I adore harp music too!

Coming here brings peace to my heart dear Anita.
I'm sorry I haven't been lately. As you know it's been busy.
Thank you for such beautiful pictures and words. SO so you and so so true.
I've just posted, which took a lot out of me, about mom and some goings on at the cottage. We had a good day today, but it's a slow and steady recovery.
Thank you for always being there my dear friend. Everyone wishes you were coming here : (
One day, yes one day.
Julie suggests we all meet on the West Coast next year. Wouldn't that be a blast? We could all meet Rosie and Koralee and others we love so much.
Enjoy your summer my dear friend, and thank you for letting me know you are always thinking of us.
I love You

Every photo is so spectacular. Love that one with the child and the cat. Some are thought provoking and others just visually stunning.
It is a joy to read your posts and listen to your playlists. Merci!
Beautiful!
So happy blogger is working again .
It's July ......
Today my sweet mother and... my youngest sister would have been having their birthday .
My mother passed away 1999 and my sister in 2000. Those two birthdays on the same day always were so happy at the beginning of summerholidays .... a special start with all the family ....
I am having a very little thinking-of-them day .... Very beautiful flowers and a little yummie .
Life goes on and we can remember with a big smile and be thankful ..
Are you enjoying your days ?
Have fun girl !

Morning to you my sweet friend...thank you for visiting me! What is on your agenda this fine day? Sounds like you are enjoying a little bit of heat...while I am off to find a cozy jacket to wear to our Canada Day parade. Mr. Sun does not what to come out and celebrate....our weather has been so so sad...day after day after day...no sun at all. I think I have sat outside on the patio at total of 3 times this Spring/Summer.
Oh well not to complain...these kinda days make good baking days.
Handfuls of Friday JOY to you my sweet and dear Anita. xoxox
