You've Got a Phone Call

This unquenchable thirst of mine

has finally found its sunset

that CALLS OUT from afar

then sail away

 towards a bottomless well

of gratifying refreshment.

But I cry

"I have no craft capable enough to take me

the distance."

"It's not a vessel that you need to get you to

PLEASURE'S EDGE

but the

NERVE

 to take the first step

walk in

and

SWIM."

But

"I DON'T KNOW HOW.

I'LL DROWN."

I BArgain and insist and beg,

"CAN'T I JUST

fly there

DRIFT SLOWLY

the safest way

I KNOW HOW

on the

WIngs of my DReaMS?"

"Your FANCY has brought you to the shore of your

IMAGINATION

but

MUSCLE

is necessary now because

in order to reach destinations

UNIMAGINABLE."

The CRASHING WAVES of

difficulty resound that I am

UNABLE.

while a still voice on distant shores whispers

"God does not call the able.

HE ENABLES THE CALLED."

-unknown.

COME...
there is

a feast of rejoicing waiting for

you.

But first...

You've Got a Phone Call.

This is just the thing I need to hear from time to time, and now is such a time. It is a ray of encouragement and hope in the midst of the dank and dreary news events that reach my eyes and ears everyday. Oh that everyone could see the world as you do, my love.

Thank you for your sweetness.

Dear Anita,

Your beautiful post could not have arrived at a better time. I realise your message is figurative of course. However on Monday I am embarking on a rather long journey with my three children, the youngest of which is barely 18 months. My husband, who is a huge support usually, cannot travel with us for work reasons. I am not very courageous when it comes to travelling with children even though I adore going the distance alone. Reading your words has given me the courage to travel WITH A SMILE because I will not be alone: my children will be there to accompany me.

It is all about seeing things from a different slant.

I am smiling and, the more I see your work, the more I fall in love with blue and green.

Thank you Anita.

Oh my goodness! Breathtaking! It is so true we cannot cross the ocean unless we have the courage to let go of the safety of the shore ..... to plunge into the deep water and see where it will take us. It can be calm and peaceful or it can be stormy and grey. It is how we deal with the weather of life ...... that shapes our character. You are incredible! Your ability to reach deep and give us such beautiful imagery and words is amazing! Thank-you! Friday was such a boo hoo day and I found myself in the book store...escaping. I came across a chapter in a book my Dr. Phil. I am not a big fan of his but somehow my journey ended up there (no, he didn't call me!) and the words popped off the page as though he was talking to me....

Jacqueline, one day you will wake up and find that you have been living the untold truth of who you are under it all. Find your authentic self...in other words, push off from the shore and sail into the ocean. I've had two days of going deep and I'm going deeper into that pink ocean...sailing away on those wooden sailboats, all the colors of a rainbow and more are ahead of me.

So the million and seven dollar question is who am I? Other's may know, I called some of the "others" up and they said...
Gnomes, Fantasy, whimiscal adventures...Life is changing for the good. I do believe I need to stay in my childhood and show the world who I really really am...I'm not sure what Dr. Phil would think of that but I know Anita will accept me just as I am.

Inspiration in living color is found here on your blog. It gives me a push and a hug and allows me to set sail with dreams ahead of me, and Anita right beside me.
Love you...more than you can imagine.

Dear Anita,

Thank you so much for visiting me today and to hear your kind words.
So pleased to hear that you have got some help with your back.
Exercise is a wonderful thing, and when I had lower back problems ( after our children were born) helped to strengthen and get me feeling well again.
We have not replaced Heidi, maybe one day we will, but for now we will remember the happy memories we
had with her.

Hope that you are enjoying your holidays and summer, dear friend
Hugs
Carolyn

I do want to go over next spring, for sure. A cruise on the Rhine methinks. Still, before I go some of those wonderfully refreshing drinks to survive the summer heat. :)

Good morning dear friend!! I hope you are well this morning. It is rainy and stormy here today and very humid, no fun to be outside. I feel as if summer is slipping away. Thank you so much for visiting me this morning. I really wish that we all lived closer, that would be so much fun. I never thought of Skype, I should see if our camera is working. Meeting blogging friends is just amazing, it feels like you have found your long lost friends. :)
Enjoy your day and I hope it is a beautiful one.
Much love!!

Hi Sweet Anita,

I so thought of you yesterday as I was reading a devotional from Joel & Victoria Osteen. It was titled: "When You're in Deep." In fact, I was going to email it to you, but I couldn't find your contact info. Anyway...the devotional spoke about how "We are supposed to go out into the deep things God has for us. But...when you're out in the deep waters, you can't touch the ground. You can't see the shoreline, at times..." Then they went on to say that "the scripture tells us that deep calls to deep....God is the one who has called you to the deep waters. He is with you, and He knows there are deep things on the inside of you." (There was more to it, but I thought it was SO good!) Psalm 107:24

I hope you're having a lovely day, my dear. It's sunny here. Another day...another gift! Enjoy!

xoxo
Heidi

Hello Anita! I hope this week is treating you well! How is your back? I am sorry to hear that you were in pain!
Those things always make it near impossible to work on art or writing I am sure. I hope you are getting the rest that you need.
Every time I try to work on art this week, I get stuck. Maybe my mind is telling me I need a break? But, it feels far too long to go a week without creating, doesn't it?!
Well, the weekend is almost upon us. I hope you have a wonderful one!
XOXO

Hi Anita ~
Thanks so much for your visit!
Oh well...it IS warm and humid again.
I think we're getting some storms too.
Tomorrow, {Friday} I leave with my sister to visit our father. He is only a couple of hours away. We have the most fun!
Our traditional stop at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee.
Lots of sister talk.
and 3 days of making our Dad yummy food and enjoying each other's company until late!
I hope all is well with you. Are you working on another book? I really enjoyed your story about Balzac :o)

*happy weekend to you, Anita*

Next week will be soon enough for another posting! I love revisiting your posts even and I'm sure others feel the same way!

Oh my, I think you captured growing older and less able or fear of risks even if you didn't intend to do so.As Paul and I grow older together we need to fight this too - tendency to back away from spontaneous risk taking fun.You know, like leaving home without making reservations, nothing big HEHE.

You have to be so tired of me ewwwing (however that's spelled) and ahhhing over all your words and pictures. You've inspired me to create just the right gift for my neice who is young and has a difficult life. I've been trying to come up with a birthday gift and some encouragement for her.
