What a lovely post. A poetic addition to the idea that all the world's a stage. The pictures are beautiful, but the words stand completely on their own as thought provoking and encouraging. I also love your little handmade wooden theatre of Cinderella, with the great title: "11:59".

Thanks for the uplift.

I adore the flurry and scurry of Cinderella at one minute to midnight! You have captured that frenetic last moment of magic perfectly. I look forward to seeing your creations on Etsy, dear Anita.

Part of my Phd thesis is a comparative between garden and theatre design in late seventeenth-century Versailles so theatres speak volumes to me. I am also pondering more and more these days the reality of life and how one should live each moment to its full when life is in actual fact made of of many mundane moments too.

Beautiful Anita.

I ADORE this post... especially because it is all about theatres, and ballerinas, and what lies behind the stage curtains...the ultimate universe of our souls. I see the depth to where you are taking us on that voyage to Wonderland, the flowing stars, the vastness of it all. The eternal value we will one day possess. It is in our souls and awaits only to be revealed by the MASTER HIMSELF!
About Los Angeles...yes, some of the filming studios had to be closed for a time because of power outages, and also some public schools were closed due to trees being down everywhere, and possible electrical lines being down and very dangerous...very rare in the city of The Angels.(and I'm not talking about the baseball team, hee, hee~)
Be blessed, take care, rest lots~

Oh my, I am just giddy with this post. Your words are thought provoking and the photos Enchanting.

It reminded me of an excerpt from a book I read...Who Killed My Daughter.
Most times when I read a book, I find the things I like in it most, the quotes etc, and write them in my "thinking book"

The author said this:
Our children had been involved in community theatre, and I had spent many hours rehearsing them in their lines.
Occasionally during a performance, an actor would forget his lines and ad-lib, which would force the Other actors to ad-lib also, and the scene would become SO CHAOTIC, that the story line was LOST.
What if our years on earth were scripted ahead of time, but because we did have free will ,we could write our own scripts, based upon the lessons we needed to learn and the lessons we agreed to help others learn.
Although we had NO concious memory of those commitments each person's script would be imprinted on his or her SOUL. If we forgot our lines, and didn't play the scene as it was scripted, we could blow the whole play, not only for ourselves, but for everybody.

I think of that often. Are MY choices, My actions, MY words "blowing the play" that the Lord originally planned for me and sent me here to act out.

So, I guess we need to be concientious of ACTING in our best possible selves, With integrity, With honesty, With love, ....and if we find ourselves "forgetting our lines", then we better Practice (prayer) HARDER, so there isn't as much ad-libbing going on.

just a thought.
sorry...this got long.

Lovely Anita, you will go mad for the new film, Hugo. The book was spectacular but the film with the Melias clips in PERFECT condition, well... it is magic pure and simple.

Dreams, lost and found, fabulous set design and the young star is remarkable. I for one have always been in love with the oldest images and recordings. Sneaking a peek at the soul of the past, isn't it?

And performers, they are forever showing us new roads for our own souls to take... to crash or to soar.

And you are soaring with your new site... so many charming things... love the theatre... splendid work, young lady!!!

hello dear Anita!
a kindred soul am i, also one who chooses to pull back that curtain, and discover the magical world that awaits...
one of my most beloved life's mantra is this:

There is a vitality, a life-force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time this expression is unique. and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it! It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.

Martha Graham

it is my belief, that you and Dore, clearly follow this code whether you know it or not.
such talent, such beauty...
hide it under a bushel ~ NO!!!
but instead, sharing with all who choose to look, your "shine"

i count myself fortunate to be able to visit such places as you and Dore's...two other's who believe in a place of fairies and happy thoughts.
a place that can live inside each and everyone of us, if we only believe and walk through that curtain!

thank you for showing us your point of entry, behind that curtain...

as always ~ pure magic!!

Anita, For some weird reason, this post reminded me of my high school days in DRAMATICS class. Oh how I love to act in those plays! I had the starring role a few times and was listed in a book entitled "Who's WHO in High School Dramatics". I think I am still a frustrated actress, which is probably why I love to record cds with my storybooks. I get to play the parts! Yes William Shakespeare was right "All the Worlds a Stage"

Your Theatre Post is wonderful. You know, I saw a show on T.V. one time, and they were saying that we are all like actors in the theatre, playing our role in life from a very young age. I don't know if it's true or not, but it made a lot of sense at the time. You know, I was thinking about you one day when I made a comment on someone's blog, and I noticed that you also made a comment on the same blog. I thought to myself, "How in the world does she ever manage to be so kind as to comment on everyone's blog, work as a teacher, and create posts as unique as she does?" You remind me alot of my Nel, who does so many beautiful things for so many people. Right now, Nel is on burn-out overload, as I am sure you feel at times, but you keep moving forward, and with such grace. I am sending you holiday blessings, Dear Anita, and I hope that you know how special you really are.

Evening dear one...just got home from our Christmas concert...it went soooo well and now I am in the Christmas spirit. Nothing like some good Christmas songs to get you going. All I can say is that God is soooo Good!

Anita!!! I´m back again to visit you after a few weeks of absence. I seem to find it very difficult lately to work and do everything else. Blogging was put aside until I can get myself organized, little by little. It is so refreshing to come to your blog and read and enjoy your inspiring posts. I have missed coming!!! Hope your Etsy shop is doing wonderful! Hugs and kisses, my friend!!!

Hi Anita!
Your post reminds me of a quote I love: God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called!
I love this whole concept because some days I truly feel as though God is telling me, "take that step forward, Maria, I'll give you the grace you need one step at a time - one day at a time. I think of what "our daily bread" means.

Well my dear. School is waiting - now there's a
stage, n'est pas?!!!
Have a beautiful day!
-blessings and Grace always,
Maria

Hello sweet Anita!

I have missed stopping by! I was sick for Thanksgiving, then there was so much work to catch up on after that.
This beautiful post makes me think of times when I took ballet and the excitement surrounding performing on stage. Your small theater is so creative! It is pure magic.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. It was so inspiring. I completely agree with you about art comes out of freedom. I have tried too hard before, and nothing good ever seems to come out of that. It really is finding freedom and letting our soul flow through our work. "Just be" is wonderful advice!

How is your Christmas season coming along? I wish this season could last longer than December! I hope you are well and work is not stressful for you during this wonderful time of year!

xoxo

Anita you seem to guarantee me goose bumps every time I visit! it's seriously rare, you strike the perfect cord, of images and words, that sends off sparks of eternity to every fiber of my being.

I do feel this truly, that one must express while the flames of life fly.

Hello sweet dreamer,
You my dear had me laughing OUT LOUD with your "lava question"...the answer is YES of course...many times!
What a GREAT post...once again.
Oh those beautiful babies...so delightful.
Well dearest, life has gone from busy to insane in a matter of moments it seems.
Will the "to do" lists EVER all be checked off?? No, I think not.
I have been baking up a storm....(ahhh soooo fun), swimming in wrapping paper and ribbon, decorating and sprinkling Christmas through out our home while TRYING to keep the store well stocked..Tis' the Season :)
Have been painting with a slate grey these days. The ladies desk turned out lovely, and put the base coat on a charming little coffee table today. I would L O V E to put a smattering of grey throughout my living room...maybe in January.
Will finish the coffee table tomorrow.
Hope you are enjoying the hustle and bustle that only this time of year brings...making time for a hot cuppa with those you love...savor the season dearest... Love Rosie

Dearest Anita ~ You wrote: "then is every life encounter a REHEARSAL that shapes our agility". That definitely gives me food for thought...and I totally agree that it is...and with each Rehearsal, we get the chance to improve whatever God is working on us at the time. This is a LOVELY post!
