Who Taught You How to Dance?

I have had many dance teachers who have taught me how to execute a turn with great precision.

But YOU taught me HOW to dance.

I DAILY crave the glimmer of creativity

and the enduring beauty of human kindness.

Therein lay the dance of sheer abandon

to trust

to give

and to let GO

and sparkle.

Each and EVERYONE OF YOU, through daily compassion and companionship have helped me get back on my path towards believing that no matter how empty I may feel

I can find my way back with the help of friends.

Who has taught you how to DANCE?

Go and show them what they mean to you.

Enjoy finding whimsical

and special ways to show those you adore

what they mean to you as the month of LOVE comes upon us!

You are the best.

I want to share a beautiful comment originally written in French that the talented and most kind Doré from Burlap Luxe left me. It is a profound statement that I want to always live by and here is a translated English version:

"...to make people feel as if they are more and never less than what they actually are."
Merci mon amie.

I've Lost Something

and I can't find it.

Just as Cinderella lost her slipper

I too, for just a moment, have lost the magic.

I wanted to bring you flowers

an abundant bouquet to hand deliver to each and everyone of you.

I envisioned inviting you to a feast of inspiring thoughts

and a unique moment of sweet indulgence

to make you come back for more

to relax and play

and share the wonder.

but instead, I look outside the window of my beautiful soul and find a blank, white sky.

Therefore, I am going to quietly and carefully observe around me for a while

until the vision of magic comes back into my tired eyes

and I find my slipper once again.

To be a writer requires much more than just DESIRE,

much more than an occasional uplifting blog post,

but a commitment to voracious reading of the greats

TIME

and more TIME...

things that I am short on at the moment.

But my one saving grace is the circle of friends I have found in you

who keep me on MY TOES and reaching for my dreams.

Merci de tout mon coeur les filles...

EXPLODE THE MOMENT

School

is where I stylishly earn my living

SYSTEMATICALLY teach

attempt to inspire

confabulate unforgettable MOMENTS

and humbly learn something new from the old pages of my life.

All week long, my 50 fourth grade writers learned to FOCUS on a specific moment in the PRESENT tense

using STRONG VERBS

with INTENSE verbal imagery

in order to engage their readers to take a bite out of time

and EXPLODE THE MOMENT with vivid flavor, texture and emotion.

What were the results?

A writing lesson that LES ENFANTS did not want to end

and a LIFE LESSON for me that will CONTINUE until I die.

What other way is there to live, but to savor the NOW?

My students found JOY in using new words like

TRUDGE instead of walk

and using similes that instill a poignant image in the mind of their audience.

This JOIE DE VIVRE must be taught and cultivated and having said this, I want to thank FAY from A Melange et Moi

who obviously knows how to EXPLODE THE MOMENT and make each day beautiful and who has kindly passed on an award to me, but unfortunately, I am unable to access her blog to grab the image...

Now, I need to tell you seven things about myself and give this honor to 10 more bloggers that I have discovered over the last year.

1. I need to have "an edge" in my approach to work and creative contributions

and this is how I feel about myself if I am not doing something with a CREATIVE TWIST.

 2. I ASPIRE TO BE ORGANIZED!

 3.  I need friends.

4.  I love to read

5. but even more so, I love to write.

6. Animals are my passion, especially curly, scrappy terriers!

7. And I prefer an almost monochromatic theme with just a splash of contrasting color in how I dress

and in my home décor as well, with ALWAYS an element of sparkle!

To the following bloggers who EXPLODE the moment with their gifts of photography, poetry and humor, I award this acknowledgement. Please visit them to EXPERIENCE the MOMENT that they so lovingly create for you.

3. Award 10 bloggers the award.

Fay, MERCI CHÈRIE! I am unable to access her lovely blog, but her world is chic, European, and magnificent!
