And that party made me want to come out of my shell and meet people in Blogland! Best virtual party EVER!!! So I'm looking forward to another marvelous party, and Oui, count me in!

Oh yes, my sweet Anita, I would love to join in your Paris link party. While I am writing this, I am noticing the incredible picture of the fireworks next to the comment page. When the girls went there, they loved everything about Paris - the food, the culture, the people. The two young people kissing are so sweet, and the carriage is beautiful. My favorite of all was the picture of the artist in the street. It is just wonderful, and full of mystery. Oh, Jess would love this 'TRAVEL' quote, as travel is a must for her. I am going to send the girls over to see this. What a great post, and sign me up for your link party!

the link on my new post has just brought me here by magic :) i am so glad you liked it.
i just can't tell you how excited i am and how much i am looking forward to this event.
thankfully, it falls just before the big birthday week here in june. where we celebrate five (possibly six, as my new little grandaughter is due that week too) family birthdays all in the same week! three on the same day! my mother, sister and myself performed a hat-trick by all giving birth to sons on 18th of june. my twins have their birthday the following day, the 19th. talk about busy! and expensive! just like christmas really. but before this i have the paris party! and i am just brimming with ideas as well as reviving lots of lovely old memories of my time there many years ago (over 30 now!).
today i am being nursemaid to poor peace lily who has a nasty ear infection. the vet is coming to see her tomorrow morning. she is looks so sorry for herself and whining. which worries me because she normally such a brave soul, it's unlike her to cry, the poor darling. but she is receiving lots of cuddles and little treats and hopefully the vet will give us something that will relieve the pain and clear the infection quickly. i do hate when any of my charges are poorly. my son has the flu too has had to go off to london today. he needs to get his visa to attend his friends graduation ceremony in pittsburg (not sure if that's the correct spelling) later this month. he is in his early twenties but i still worry about him as much, if not more, than i did when he was little. but then he and his twin sister are my youngest. gosh, i'm waffling on here. sorry dear, i should have emailed you. perhaps i will later if i get a quiet moment.
much love to you, i hope you have a lovely evening. do you still have sunshine there? it's been lovely here today.

bisous x

just a quick update: the vet has been and he has given lily an antibiotic and painkilling injection.
he said her ear had turned pretty nasty this time, but she should feel better in a day or or two. he has given me some drops and of course she has been awarded with hugs and treats.
i also washed her bed and made it all comfy for her this morning. although she has jumped up on mine, deciding that is where she wants to sleep today.
i shall have an early night myself later as i slept very little last night due to her discomfort. am glad she will be on the mend soon. she is such a sweet and brave girl. the vet exclaimed at how gentle natured she is, even for a labrador.
i am off now to prepare something that will be a cross between lunch and afternoon tea. which reminds me, i have your teas all packed and and ready for my son to post when he returns from london.

warmest wishes from me and hello from peace lily, who wishes to let you know she is feeling a little better.

otherwise it has been very busy, i have hardly had time to catch my breath. but right now my son is preparing a feast! a rare (almost miraculous) treat :)
he is putting a lot of effort into making some very exotic chicken and lamb (i think) kebabs. my daughter and i don't have the heart at this moment to remind him that we are vegetarian! thank goodness we are having salad with them. although of course we will taste all that he has prepared for us.
i hope that you and dear mr. castles are fairing well this weekend.
bless you for your support these past few days, i am sure your healing prayers aided lily's recovery. she has picked picked up remarkably well.
oh gosh, i haven't told you the hamster story yet!
briefly, there was an almighty crash from my daughter's bedroom after she had failed to shut her door. one of our cats had got in there, climbed on top of the very heavey wooden hamster house and somehow knocked it onto the floor. it landed upside down! i was frantic and thought the poor little creature had perished for sure. but she had been saved by the small wooden cabin that she sleeps in. it was full of soft bedding, so thankfully her fall was cushioned and the solid wood protected her from being crushed.

ok, must fly now...

much love and warmest hugs xxx

ileft a reply to your sweet comment on my blog and am copy and pasting here incase you miss it:

dearest anita
yes, i am due to be grandmother to a little girl in mid-june. she already has a brother, my three year old grandson stanley who is absobloominlutely adorable! he says and does the funnies things imaginable and looks like a duckling with his little head of sticky-up blonde hair.
the kebabs...oh dear! quite horrendous, almost burnt to a crisp. the poor chap has only ever attempted making cheese on toast before now. it's sad after he put all that effort in.

i wish you a lovely sunday too and send very warmest hugs from myself and peace lily xxx

it's quite late in our corner of the world now and so i'm off to bed, lily is already snoring gently in hers.

will pop along here again soon x

Stephanie stumbles a little breathlessly and pants: 'Am I too late for this delightful gathering?'

Anita what a sweet invitation. Paris is my favourite city. I lived there for five years, I met my husband, gave birth to my son there... and, now I am whispering and not panting, I had a few romantic escapades there... before meeting my husband, of course!

Seriously Paris inspires me each and every time. Infact I'll be there this weekend for a short while. I even like the smell of the Metro!

I have little idea what I shall write about but I will figure it out.

Much love,

Stephanie
