And as everyone gathered around

the chief storyteller said,

via

there was a violet

that gave away

 ~ Once ~

as part of a congregation of

holy stillness

via

~ then ~

as a lone heart

offering its nectar

for pleasure's sake.

via

~ One dawn in time ~

 The sloping contour

of a harp

held

notes in anxious tension

via

~ while in the next stroke ~

 arched shoulders unfolded

 to relieve

a flurry of praise.

via

~ Long ago~

a soul embraced a tear

as a tender shoot holds

a dew drop on its

velvet cheek

~ then years later~

the tear drops still fall

but courage leave

 doubt behind

via

~ One particular day ~

a tea pot pours

"liquid wisdom"

into a cup.

via

~ another day

an invisible fluidity

of wisdom

takes a sip of imagination

tumblr

We live more than

   Something

is at the tip of your pen

via

your brush

or your fingers

waiting for closer

 examination

via

and expression

that elevates your target

of interest

to a higher purpose.

via

And all the while

something changes.

But the flower is still

a flower

and a

tear is still a tear.

via

  not the world, but you.

If we dare

we live

  9. Oh Anita. This is beautiful piece. I love your imagery. "a congregation of holy stillness," the harp notes held in "anxious tension," the other notes as a "flurry of praise," etc. The sometimes sad, sometimes beautiful truth that the world does not change but we can. Indeed we must. I was lost in this poem. I can see the influence of Mary Oliver on you.

  12. WOW Anita you never cease to amaze me and give me chills!

This is so beautifully written, amazing how we can do things we thought impossible when we reach out to touch them, open our eyes to see them and open our hearts to embrace them. I know its not always that easy, but sometimes just truly letting go and letting things just happen can surprise us with wonderful things. Love this! You continue to inspire me and always remind me to never ever stop dreaming.

    Hi Anita, George here ;)
Yes we all change, and the closest to us change to, but its our ability to embrace the change that helps us through new horizons and brings us closer together. Now, bet you did expect that to come from a four legged friend :)us dogs can take on change as long as our owners are there for us, I had to put up with alot when Tess came to stay! but we get on great now and work together to wind up Mom and Dad lol

  41. Anita dear,
What a lovely post today. We all do change, don't we? And if we are lucky, we don't stop changing and growing and learning until the Lord calls us home. "To a great mind, nothing is little" - I love that. It tells me that even the smallest thing can be perceived with beauty. And the bunny picture!!! You always melt my heart with your pictures. It reminds me of my three kids when they were little listening to me tell them a story. I would love to hear you play the harp someday. You should show us a little video sometime. How delightful when you said a tea pot pours "liquid wisdom" into a cup. My favorite picture was of the girl taking a sip of imagination. How clever are your words. I am just getting over the worst flu bug, and my visit here today made me feel better. Thank you, darling.

  64. Dearest Anita~
This lovely post speaks volumes to me...
Remember, my dear, talented, beautiful friend:
No matter where life takes you, you cannot escape the raw truth that you are blessed with extraordinary talents and gifts that are meant to be shared with the world.
Cultivate & share these magical talents as you see fit...but never underestimate their "power" or why God has chosen you to share them with the world.
The only question you need ask yourself is "Which talent shall I use today??" (there are so many to choose from! :)
I will always believe in you...regardless of the path you may choose...and it's okay to take the wrong one on occasion. Everyone gets "lost" at times.
However, you are a talent that only comes around in "once upon a time..."
    (And yes...fairytales, do come true.)

  99. Oh, Anita, I am the silly one! I didn't even notice that your wrote "violet". I read it and it registered in my mind as "viola". Well, I'm glad you used "violet". It is much more poetic-sounding than "viola" anyway. When it comes to plants and me, that old adage about 'the more I learn, the less I know' is certainly true!

Thank you for your visit. I always look forward to them!

We over here are having some very hot temperatures (not so much here on the coast) and there are many, many fires ravaging the countryside!

Enjoy your delicious hot food in cold weather...I love that!

  105. Dearest Anita!!!!!
    How are you?
This is such a magical, beautiful, & COOL post!!!!!
I love the photo of Johnny Depp from "Sleepy Hollow!"
    Washington Irving.... love his work!!!!!
The rabbit photos are so cute!!!!
It's very cold here- winter is kicking in full force!!!!!
My parents were visiting us last week- we had a fun visit.
We took them out for dinner and on Sunday cooked dinner at home.
I have bought a few vintage items lately- a pale blue fur coat, a purple & black chunky knit cardigan with black fox fur tails, a mink fur stole, & a leopard fur vest with 2 large black leather buckles across the front of the vest.....
I wore the vintage pale blue fur coat with some dark denim skinny jeans, Danijo ankle boots, a Rolling Stones concert tee, and a jeweled star pendant necklace...
I was so hurt because one of my old friends saw a photo of me wearing the outfit and mentioned that she didn't intend to sound mean but my coat sort of looked like a bathrobe. I was upset & told her the coat was a vintage pale blue fur coat. If she saw it in person- it clearly does not look like a bathrobe!!!!
Why do people say things like that? Now I don't want to wear the coat anymore!!!!! It's so pretty too....
Hoping you're having a wonderful week!!!!
You're such an incredible person Anita!!!! I'm so lucky to have met you!!!!!
    Luv & Hugs,
    Shannon

  114. hi Anita! The best part of thrift shopping is that "rush/high" when you find that wonderful items and you have to contain yourself so no one notices your excitement... hahahaha.

What is your size? I find darling things simply cuz I want them. Like my Guess Jeans for example. I set out to get some awesome skinny jeans that day and BAMMMM there they were.

Grand positive attitude gets us there. Awh. I hunt down some finds for you anytime.

  116. ah ha, Anita! I knew you were teeny tiny. I am a whole bunch bigger than you. Prior to meeting my HM I had lost a bunch and was at a size 6-8 and he didn't want me to lose any further. Oh, yes over the 13 yrs together thus far, I am more of a robust Rubenesque type. hahahaha

    How tall are you?

  117. ohhhhhh, that just gave me the chills. What a beautiful writing there. Certainly "SOMETHING" is magical at the end of your pen.
I could quote so many things from this that I loved, but THEN, I'd be re-writing everything you put here (tee, hee)
Twice upon a time.....that is hopeful I think.

  121. Dearest Anita,

Here I am at last and, oh, what a thrill it is to read your words of encouragement and gaze at your visions of beauty (I ADORE those violas; their colour is truly exquisite). I would go further and dare to say: Once Upon A Thrice. Yes, I have noticed that with the third try I REALLY get it right and savour things to the full.

Thank you for your patience, Anita. You are a remarkable lady.
