Life's Seasons Turn

tumblr

in the direction we know

and

expect them to head

and winter's still life

eventually flows

into

a living paradise.

via

You can count on it.

tumblr

But how do you measure

an

unscheduled arrival?

tumblr

Twice in one week

 I needed a sign

and

twice I received them.

via

 An articulate letter of gratitude

by a student at one school where I teach

appears in my mailbox

just after I felt

I had failed in another classroom.

A stranger in a black parka

breaks the white nothingness

of my landscape

to help me shovel my car out

of an impossible snowbank...

Miracles

don't come on our time.

They come at the right time.

because you could very well be

someone's angel

at

their right time.

With tears in my eyes I am celebrating your precious words and graphics in this wonderfully uplifting post. Isn't it always the way things work out, we are gifted with appreciation and kindness when we feel overwhelmed and not totally understood. Anita there are angels on earth working behind the scenes in their own special talent. You my friend are a earth angel working your beauty through your actions and poetic words.

Hello Anita,
Life is so amazing isn't it? Guardian angels do seem to fly to one's assistance just when one needs them or has given up in despair. How lovely that in your hours of need, people stepped forward to renew your faith in the goodness of individuals and, thereby, of Life itself.

How we have missed the glorious confection of words, images and music which are your very special posts. We too believe in the serendipity of Life and that things happen for a reason and an angel is usually waiting in the wings. One just has to be open to the possibility.

Hoping that you are having a happy and restful weekend!

Oh my gosh, its so very true dear Anita.
At any moment we could indeed be that spirit someone needs
to rise from their ashes.
We are all so very connected and yet we carry on as though
we are not.
What could happen if we all stopped, took that deep breath
and looked around at what and who is really there.
Its scarey to open yourself, to lay yourself out flat for
another who may just walk over you.
The children need you, and you never know who
you maybe saving with that one shared moment.
Love your circle of seasons...I want one too!

Oh I loved this post, Anita, because SIGNS are all around us, and I often see them too. How wonderful that you received a letter from a student at the time when you needed it the most - and the stranger who helped you shovel the snow from your car. The picture of the little girl with angel wings is so precious.

I'm coming to you a bit late - I have had the worst allergies or a bug lately and it's affecting my ears and everything. Feeling awful, and just waiting to get better while drinking lots of tea and resting.

I do wish I received a sign today telling me that everything will be alright..........maybe I already have. :~)

I love when you said that miracles don't come at our time, they come at the right time. That is so true, and you are such a special soul making other hearts very glad.

Hi Anita! This is so beautiful and this classical piece is one of my favorites:):) Miracles .. and angels .. they are there and happen when you least expect it and that is why we need to always live in the moment. Sometimes things happen and go unnoticed. It's easy to get caught up and not stay connected to what's going on around us. I had a miracle happen last week when I was driving on the freeway and almost hit by a driver that was not paying attention. It was upsetting and I felt uneasy for a time.. an angel was there and it wasn't my time. This was beautiful Anita. Enjoy your Monday! xxleslie

I was knitting this new sweater for my son Tristan in the most amazing 'Bloomsbury' blue when your header picture in blue popped up! Serendipity!

You have hit the nail on the head! One of the things I love the most about life is how one can believe, following rational thinking, that this day is going to be hard only to find a pure act of human kindness and a pinch of luck too, maybe, can change things right 'round. I recall only too well those days in a classroom when I felt I hadn't done my best. A teacher can never be one's best every day. I am quite certain, dearest friend, that you are a FABULOUS teacher. Which student would not love to have you guide them through their lessons?

I love the thought-provoking aspect of this post. Acts of kindness can happen at any time but it is true that one should be more aware that we too could change somebody's day around too.

Hugs to you as always,

Stephanie

Such a beautiful post Anita. I remember once being in NYC for work and visiting a good friend who was dying of Leukemia, what a dark day. I was leaving the Javits Center with a giant suitcase on wheels filled with my handbags and it kept getting stuck in the snow and a stranger appeared out of nowhere and fixed my wheel. It turns out he was a gestalt therapist and we stood there and had a conversation about life, buddhism, and then parted ways but I never forgot it. Your post reminded me of this and how miracles do show up when you really need them. I'm glad you had 2 this week!

I've just been to Penny's place and seen your creations coming to 3-d life. Isn't that grand to see them come alive like that? I love how she captured Rattus to perfection, his vest and jacket are exactly right, as is his stance, hurray for you both!

oh Anita! I sure hope you found a great ensemble to keep you warm and professional. hahahha I am soooooo late getting to you today. It was a busy one around here today and yesterday. I am DETERMINED to keep my posts flowing during my time away and my time is getting closer and closer. eeeeek, ya. But I shall do two more photo shoots and the the vignette style will dominate for about 3 weeks I think. Then on to phase 2 --- what ever the docs say this week. Yes, this week I will know all the factors and steps. Pray ok? Pray all goes well. I know God answers your prayers because you are a marvelously BLESSED lady on earth. Just you mind that! ♥

Divine timing. . . it is all divine as I listen to Chopin play like angel fluttering wings carrying us to a safe landing or watch the Darling children float down with Peter on the clock dial. . . you are my blessing tonight, sweet Anita.
I'm glad those signs were there for you right when you needed them. Heaven has your back and you are soooo very dearly loved.
It has certainly been a long winter here in Minnesota, but February is past and we can begin to THINK GREEN now and IMAGINE warmer days. They will arrive on butterfly wings and with bird chirps.
Thank you for being a calm and steady light for us here.

OH, i so relish your messages to and fro. you are so special Anita. i would love to create with you, so if you ever travel near, let me know if you have a space in time. i honestly was going to mention the other day: if you ever want to "collab" long distance i would love to with you. no hurt feelings one way or the other. i am not as on-line savvy as you, but would try just about anything, any time! your little watercolors sound so terrific. again and again i love coming here more than once to delight my senses and feed my bloomin' soul! xo

How has your weekend been? My dad had another test on Friday. This one was to determine if the cancer has gone beyond the lining of his esophagus. It was caught early so hopefully it has not!!!! We remain positive & hopeful!!!!! He should get the test results soon....

Anita,
This may just be my all time favorite post of yours!!!! I love the idea of being someone else's angel. You're right…they appear when they are needed. I had a similar "dig me out" angel appear in a time of need. And, I am on a mission to secretly, quietly be an angel whenever I can. Thank you for painting such a vivid picture with your post.

hi Sweet Anita! Went through some ups and downs over the past few days, so I was late getting my post out, but it is there now. Perhaps you dropped by and saw no change, and that's why. I was late. But at least I showed. hahahaha. Thanks for your wonderful friendship and for your moral support and prayers. I have decided to just thank everyone for their prayers. Hopes are a bit too vague for my standards. I want prayers. Many and many of them. Not just hopes. Hopes are nice and kind but prayers are to the God of the Universe that has the say in all hopes or dreams or wishes. I'm not just "wishing" or "hoping" to get better. I want prayers to get me supported on my side. Who is on God's side? Well, I sure AM. ♥

Very meaningful. I will not be waiting for miracles to happen but rather thank them when they do happen.

I do believe in the little miracles of life, but more so in the daily miracles from friends, loved ones that know when you need a hug. I just spent a quiet moment savoring your posts before facing the grueling world of narcissus. Thank you for your little miracle..i truly needed it.

Hello my sweet friend, I just saw your comment on Sandy's blog. You said you missed blogging for one day and lost all momentum. That's how I felt after being in Mexico for a week and then sick for a week. I was feeling like I would never catch up...Let me reassure you, oh blog supporter extraordinaire, no matter how much time you are involved with other life matters, you will always be welcomed right back. I promise you, I think we all understand that feeling, especially those of us that work nearly full time. It can be a touch balance (and I'm saying this to myself as well) but #it's enough. You are one of the brightest spots in the blog world and your big heart shines through Anita.
Just saying...... xx, Heather

Thank you dear, sweet Anita! I am so full of gratitude and thanksgiving these days coupled with anger and frustration. I want to know my surgery date and I am so hoping I hear it tomorrow. I am so tired of waiting and worrying. Prayer calms me and prayer from others is also calming me - it is almost inconceivable. But I know God hears and answers prayers, I do! Tomorrow I'm wearing and posting pink so I have many more prayers channeled toward me, even by complete strangers. Huntsman is an awesome place. It doesn't even seem like a hospital at all. It seems like a deluxe hotel. It does. It is like a hotel that has people walking around with stethoscopes around their necks instead of fancy diamonds necklaces. lol Blogging is a great escape and I appreciate your sweet thoughts oh so much!!!! ♥

Anita, this is just what I needed to read. It's beautiful. I've had a rough-ish month with the illness & death of a loved-one. The sun is beginning to shine again though; there's always something to be thankful for. Spring is just around the corner-- I can feel it. It's wonderful when we see & feel the evidence of being loved & appreciated. I'm so glad you experienced that through your student's letter & shared it here. I'll be back to posting on my blog again soon. I do so appreciate you. I always look forward to your notes on my blog.

Talk to you soon--
Keri

Happy Friday, Anita! I hope the two of you have a wonderful weekend celebrating, laughing and enjoying each other. You are a sweet couple. I am having so much fun catching up at Nowhere. The distraction helped this morning as I was listening to the cries of Santino not getting back to sleep. Sounds quiet now. Phew!!!! :)

Blessings!

Bonjour Anita,

Il nous montre un monde plein de couleurs et de merveilles.

Ou pour le citer en Anglais : the brightness of a beautiful mind...
Je te souhaite des journées plein de joie.

Thank you sweetheart Anita!!! I set up the Pink Update page and I am so glad I decided to do that. Now whenever I need to vent or whenever someone is wondering, they can go there without sifting thru my archives, which isn't difficult either but why not a page? Thanks so much for the wonderful prayers and yes, so many have been answered; no new growth, stable size of tumor and still clear lymph nodes and such. Wow! I am in awe. I am in awe at the differences between the two hospitals. Cancer sucks but not as bad as the 'bad' hospital. I am soooooooooo relieved to be at The Huntsman! Have a wonderful productive weekend, girlfriend!!! ♥

Anita dear,
I've just discovered that I've missed some posts! I had subscribed to your blog but I didn't get anything in my email and I'm just seeing this now :(. I'll re-subscribe and hopefully that will fix the problem.
This is so beautiful. I had a similar experience once being caught in a snowstorm on a busy highway and my car died. I didn't even know if I was pulled off the road properly and suddenly out of nowhere someone knocked on my car window and he fixed the problem and then disappeared. It was astonishing, really.
Visiting here is absolutely my favourite thing to do, Anita. You have created a magical place. Hugs!
