my

On New Year's Day 2008

But as the walls of my cottage

the outside world grew wider

when I tied on my wings to

you.

Dearest Anita, how I love seeing your blog pop up on my reading list! No matter how my day has gone, it gets instantly better reading your beautiful words and listening to the soothing music. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Happy New Year! May you be richly blessed, as you have blessed us.

And I am so thankful for YOU too, Anita. My heart was delighted when I saw the train, as they have so much meaning to me. ;~) The dress form you made is sensational. And your art print is great, along with the quote. Audrey's eyes twinkle as yours do, my friend. Did you make up the "facelift" quote, I LOVE IT! I think my favorite picture on here is the girl frolicking barefoot in the dirt. I guess it's my free spirit taking over.

Thank you for your friendship through the years, and I wish you peace, joy, and love in the new year.

from the bottom of my heart,

Anita, when I read that your sister-in-law's blog changed the way you look at your creative life I could only think how you have paid that forward, and that I am one of the blessed recipients. Though I have only just met you and have read your blog for such a short time, I have been deeply impacted by it and you. For fear of sounding like a broken record (since I think every time I leave a comment it's something along these lines), your beautiful images and words always inspire me. I know 2015 will be a lovely year for you and that what you share here at Castles, Crowns and Cottages will be wonderful, and that you will continue to enrich my life, as well as all who visit. Warmest thoughts ~ Nancy

I'm not sure what changes you've made, but it seems we should change and grow. I hope my year-old blog doesn't look the same 7 years from now (if I blog that long!).
Best wishes to you, and congratulations on your journey.

I scroll down slowly when I read your posts, always reading one section deliberately and conscientiously, so when I read "You are the fairest of them all" it was the next section, rather all of a sudden-like (if that makes sense) and it made me break into a great big smile. Happy 2015 to you, Fair Lady.

To stay grounded... Anita, thank you for this post, as this is the main mistake I sometimes make. When I want to fly away... and do... especially, if a betrayal of one beloved was about to smashed me... So I will NOT forget to throw my anchor out this time, there are people like you, to make ones heart sing. I will stay a believer, in 2015 as well.
A wonderful transition, my sweet friend, show us more, let us dare, your friend Méa, who will now create new Angel Wings for the wall, as the mirror is... sold :((

I am not sure how or when I first came across Castles Crowns & Cottages, but I do remember falling in love immediately.

A grin breaks across my face each time I see a post from CC&C. I go through the post once in silence because I am usually at the dining room table across from Steve and music is already playing in the background- this morning the music on the stereo fits quite well with the beautiful words and pictures. A second reading takes place with the lovely music playing. And then, a few more readings are thrown in just to look at the beautiful pictures.

Have a lovely New Year - you are certainly welcome to drop in at our house on Wednesday night. We are hosting the 9:00 to midnight portion of the progressive dinner.

But at least I can say that I won't have to wait until next year to put it back up. Only 363 more days until Christmas again. haha!!!

Hope you had a wonderful day. Thanks for your sweet friendship!

Congratulations!!!

Oh Anita, my favorite part of your postings are when you post your home, it's warmth is so inviting of a French home of cozy comfort that inspires.
Love your candle lit beauty, and your words of inspiration, keep inspiring us with your home, and all the little inspiring touches you add and take away.
Looking forward to seeing your beams painted.

I have had a rocky start to the holidays and new year, I came down with that terrible virus and am trying to kick it, nothing worst then being sick and not able to get creative around here.

Will see you soon, and all the beauty you will be sharing with us.

Hello dearest Anita!!!!
How was your New Years Eve? I was sick so we stayed at home.
We had a sad start to our year. Our friend's 4 year old daughter passed away. She had been battling an aggressive form of Leukemia since 2012. They had been at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital in NYC since June. In mid December it was announced by a team of doctors that no more could be done. The next day the fly home and we are all so grateful she got to spend Christmas Day with her family opening gifts and sharing laughs. She was very weak, taking 29 different medications per day. On New Years Eve she suffered a stroke- probably due to the medication and the beating her body had taken. It was so sad to know a wonderful little girl had passed on. We were grateful she was no longer suffering but sad she couldn't be cured.
My dad has his 4th cancer ablation treatment at Mayo next week.
We always worry waiting for the results from this procedure hoping no additional cancer is detected or spread.
I hope you have a had a wonderful start to 2015. It's a whole New Year....
Sending hugs,
Shannon

Good morning, friend. Thank you for visiting.
It was most delicious taking in your post (music too) again. I love the ribbons hanging from your chandelier, and your beautiful harp in the background.
Yes, may we remain grounded as we hold on to the good things that never change.

Dearest Anita, it is wonderful, to see all your beautiful artwork in this post - bravo! Thank you for coming to my blog - yes, the simplify theme ... i'm still a bit in hibernation mode and not in my usual quickly moving energy, so i need the slower pace right now. Also, thinking and feeling my way into the year and ploanning takes time. So far, the kids have been here, firends, family, always lots of people. Now, i have my own space and can really start on doing, what i wanted to do after Christmas - like little owl ;) Has school started again for you? Much love for a happy evening!

I have been away from blogger for a few weeks now due to illness, and always love how uplifting that your posts are - many times they have taken away the gloom of being housebound. The images which you so carefully chose to share, and those you create yourself are rare glimpses of better places. Happy New year to you - and always. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your kind and insightful comments there. We do have a lot in common in our lives, and yours has touched mine. x

Dear Anita, missing you and your love and beauty.
Here it is a Sunny day at last. I am going this week for the Cancer check up.
Sweat it everytime. Pray it's not back. Opps Sunday the snow is back.
Hugs to you, remeember, too much on the plate causes heartburn.
Take it easy and smell the roses, even if they are in the market.
