By nature, nature

is elegant

refined

hauntingly beautiful

and breathtaking

providing us with a bridge upon which we cross the waters of inspiration

from nature's hues

and nesting instincts

in order to make our homes a place of repose

and personal royal treatment.

As you slip into your comfortable slippers

and putter around your home, open the windows of reflection and savor the colors and the scents of the season

as I welcome you to step through my doorway into MY home in the next several weeks.

In the meantime, sit with me in the niche of the Yew at Much Marcle

and dream of what marvelous things await us on the other side of the door at the Yew at St. Edwards;

perhaps it will be a magical soirée in an enchanted garden of wisteria that will inspire us once again to create an atmosphere all our own.

Merci mille fois for coming to participate in our birthday party; I know that we ALL enjoyed our special celebrations and you were a huge part of making this a memorable birthday for us all!

Bisous à tous!

  44. so beautiful! nature is indeed awesome in every way as are you my dear friend.
i am so sorry i missed your birthday! feel awful about that. i hope to make up for that and my general slowness lately in responding to your delightful comments.
i got to see that film you mentioned 'hot fuzz' the other evening. it was brilliantly funny and to my surprise was filmed in our town! Wells, i actualy live in a village just outside of it along the road that much of the filming was made.
i later asked two of my sons if they had seen this film as one of them said it was his favourite film ever and that he felt really gutted that he was at uni in buckinghamshire when the filming was going on because his chums back in somerset had got to chat with the actors in the pub.
my other son said he saw the film in Wells cinema and found it really wierd walking out of the cinema at night into the streets were it had all been fimed.
amazing that i didn't know all this before am so glad you told me about it and i did smile about the peace lily :o) i am going to get a peace lily plant for my poor lad who missed all the action when he was at uni.
am going now to look at your revious posts, see you there....

  46. your sweet little peace bunny has three ears! it must be a fairy bunny :3
although they make out in hot fuzz that it is a village in gloucestershire it is actualy filmed in the city of Wells. seriously! it's tiny the size of a village but it has a catherdral, a very beautiful one. it's a pity i can't get there at the mo (due to the agoraphobia) otherwise i'd take some photographs for you. but you could google or wiki it, it's a fascinating place. my village in on the outskirts (about 15 minutes car journey). there is a moat surounding the cathedral inhabited by swans like the one in the film, on the moat side of the cathedral is a low bell that the swans ring to be fed by the monks.
thank you so much for all your very sweet comments, your words have warm my heart and are a great comfort to me. i am drinking tea as i speak, but have to sleep soon as my son keven is visiting me tomorrow and i need to prepare.
i did have something set up on my computer for international calls, it's not working at the moment and i need to to be as two of my children are abroad (in morocco). when it is fixed i will call you sometime. you are such a kind soul, you really are an angel. am so happy we bumped into each other. i think through Charli's mum, she's an angel too.
have a lovely...? wait what time of day is it where you are? well have a lovely day/night. i am sure we will have many more pg tips fuelled evenings to come, i must rustle up some gorgeous scones...it's clotted cream country here you know, lovely dolloped on a scone with homemade jam.

I want to know MORE about the house tour, as I will come for SURE if it is open to the public. Yes, I've seen black squirrels in our parts, but not the WHITE, which seem to be especially magical. The squirrel was my sorority mascot and I used to collect squirrel things.....until I had too many collections....I DO love so many pretty things and it's hard to settle on just one or two things to follow and collect. My e-mail is privetandholly@gmail.com. Perhaps you will mail me and let me know about the house tour? I'd LOVE to visit and to meet YOU!

What a beautiful and exquisite post you have shared with us. I love it. I love the pink bedroom. Yes I could sleep there peacefully. How absolutely exquisite it is.

I cannot wait to see what you have to share behind your doors. I know it will be fabulous and creative as you are both.

I will be waiting sweetie. I am trying to get back to all of my blogs. I am afraid the cold I thought I had, is something worse. I am going to the Dr. on Friday. If it is not bronchitis, I fear it may be pneumonia trying to pounce on me. My chest has been very heavy, but as I have been off for a week, I have to finish this week. Time waits for no one.

Take care sweet friend. I love stopping in for my Castles Crowns and Cottages dose of medicine.

  88. dearest anita
i am just whizzing over here for a sec. as am very busy with our beltine/may day preparations, but i shall be along again to talk with you later.
i absolutely adore you and your magical blog too.
i knew that you had an angelic goddesssy kind of aura and knowing you can play the harp just confirms that in my mind all the more.
also when i first saw your photo i thought that you reminded me somewhat of enya. do you know enya? i love her and her music very much.
i have been slowly drafting a post that i will put up in a week or two that is about myself, as i have been 'tagged' and in that i have said that i love the violin, cello and harp and i think the harp truly is my favourite instrument. oh, how i wish i could hear you play!
the poem/song i wrote on my post today i imagined accompanied by the sound of the celtic harp.
not only is the sound of the harp so very lovely but it is also such an aestheticaly beautiful instrument.
the more i hear about you too the more feel that we are soulmates.
do have a lovely and magical may day's eve xxx

    warmest hugs and blessings xxx

  93. ok, as i so bursting with it i'll let you know a little of my secret. (i will start work on it over the this may holiday). i have a second blog called 'hare in the meadow' at the moment it is just storing a few recipes and an egg painting tutorial and is just not doing it for me. so i am going to transfer the recipes etc. into pages acessable on my main blog and free up 'hare in the meadow' for what i am sure is it's true and magical purpose..i just knew it was destined for something fae and twinkly and special. it will become a home for all the fairy folk and their little furry friends in the meadow...they shall have there own blog! i am so excited to see what they will do with this opportunity to express themselves in blogland. oh yes, i am very excited!!!

ps i once had a darling rat friend (now an angel rat) called 'scallywag' he was so beautiful and intelligent. your sweet illustrations brought him back to mind. i am sure i could feel his little rat wings fluttering as he read from my shoulder.

of course when i saw Rattus and Tea Rat i was completely charmed and thought 'why are you not publishing books?' because you should, you really should.

years ago a wrote stories for my children, the favourite of which was 'the medicine troll' i might serialise it once the new 'hare in the meadow' is lauched. oh, my goodness i am getting very little baking done today, my head is full of rats and mice and hares bless them. which reminds me, i must pay a visit to miss mousie very soon.
and i will visit all your and your friends magical places tonight and tomorrow, it can be a lovely part of my celebrations, i will bring tea and cakes for all.
