Lovely Anita... I own a St Bernard... when I tell you that she comes alive in the snow I do not exaggerate. Feeling her joy is one of my favorite things. She bounces in the snow and her love of it is infectious. The world seems new and clean and filled with light.
ReplyDeleteThe photo with the horse in the light... well, that is a Christmas gift... brilliant.
Anita, this post is as exquisite as always. All the best to you and Ruben for the holidays. ~ sarah

My goodness! These snow photos are bliss! Kind of makes me shiver too.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are almost unreal, almost too perfect or other worldly.
But very delightful to behold, charming, joyful, enchanting.
How are you? Ready for your school vacation Holiday? I am excited about you making some theatres...can't wait to see them!
Have a very, lovely, relaxing weekend my sweet friend!
Teresa
Mon Ami what a wonderful post! The images are breath taking... those horse are beyond beautiful!!!... Wishing you a wonderful Christmas! xo HHL
ReplyDeleteOh gracious, I'm going to have to put a box of tissue next to the computer. Your posts keep making my eyes spill.
ReplyDeleteI think the most precious thing about the holidays is gathering with people we love. This post reminds me of the lights I leave on waiting for my parents to arrive and my two anxious children staring out at the lamp-lit street watching for the first sign of their lights. They also love to watch the snow fall in the lamplight. Their beautiful faces, the glow of the lights, the gentle snow, and the long, dark evenings culminated into a single, moving thought when I read your post.
Your post and music are so very moving. Beautifully, done!
Keri
Dearest Anita,
ReplyDeleteThis may be one of my favorite of your posts. The pictures, it goes without saying, are MAGIC (and maybe even a little silly = one Panda giving another the alley-oop, LOL). But your poetry is marvelous. Oh how I sometimes need that gentle "Snow" to shut out the "white noise of daily life", and illumine that path of the here and the not yet.
Thank you, thank you.
Love
Ruben
WOW....
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ruben, this is one of your best. It's breathtaking Anita. The imagery, so pure, so untouched! I love it. How are you my dear friend?

Oh yes, I had to come back for a little more of this bliss..
ReplyDeleteThis time I must mention the ethereal Enya..the sweet pandas (oomph!), and that sweet pooch!!
Love you!

A christmas greeting is on its way to you. ox
ReplyDeleteHello my friend!
ReplyDeleteMagical! I love this post, it is simply stunning, the music, the images and your beautiful words! What a wonderful treat for a Friday night and the perfect pick me up for a grey day. Thank you for lifting my spirits and giving me a burst of holiday spirit. I needed that.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend planned. Are you done teaching for the holidays yet?
Take care my friend! xoxo Elizabeth
Oh Anita,
ReplyDeleteThis is a prayer of beauty that I must have written out to pray along with you...
and, Oh those white horses!!!
And is that an Irish Setter running in the snow? My friend Annie has one, oh that red hair!!!
I was reading the poem (turned Christmas hymn) by Christina Rossetti,
"In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
Our God, heaven cannot hold him,
nor earth sustain;
Heav'n and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign
In the bleak midwinter,
a stable-place sufficed
The Lord God incarnate,
Jesus Christ..."
---
Oh the hallelujahs that rang out from the angels that night as they proclaimed his birth!
Silent night, Holy night.
~ J o y o u s L I G H T ~
thank you for this taste of heaven.
Love you,
Violet
Dearest Anita
ReplyDeleteHow do I thank you for such beautiful images and poetry? Then to be accompanied by Enya singing in Gaelic brings to mind my dear late mother who sang us to sleep (in Gaelic). Thank you for the horse images, truly magical.
Helen xx
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe images, your words...everything.
Again, you render me speechless with your magical touch.
We will talk tomorrow... :)
xoxo
I apologize for not mentioning your soft touch with poetry my dear friend. I only mentioned you as an incredible artist ; )
ReplyDeleteI WISH we had snow like these pictures. We only have rain these days. It's getting colder in the next few days. We might just have a white Xmas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some white stuff.
My favourite pic is of course the Irish Setter with that blue ball. HOW MAGICAL!!!
And OH those sweet Panda bears.
I hope you are feeling better this week. Actually, the weekend is upon us now. Rest and catch up. Shop and sip tea. Cuddle and smile : )
Sending you warm Canadian hugs.
Love You

Could this be your most beautiful post, ever? Perhaps it is because we had so much trouble getting to see it? Or is it because it is a metaphor for the most beautiful One ever?

And thank you again. I meant what I said on my blog today...

Dearest Anita,
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures on here today, as they are so enchanting. It was like I was in a beautiful dream and didn't want to wake up. The dog at play is so sweet, and the horses are amazing. Dearest Anita,
ReplyDeleteI have arrived in time to celebrate the Winter Solstice party with you: I wish we could spend that magical evening together and spin tales of ifs and whens. I suspect you are just as much of a dreamer as I am. I am also a snow lover so the theme you have chosen today is perfect. My husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary on Solstice night. Can you imagine how wonderful it is to have that special day and to know that more treasures are to come as Christmas is just round the corner?
How are your magnificent paper theatres coming along? Do you have a little time for creation during this busy period of the year?
I am thinking of you as always.
Many happy thoughts are winging their way through the air to you from France.

The girls put another sofa in my livingroom so now there are two ... big ones.... We had new covers for both of them but we never dare to use them because they are WHITE .....
the girls just did it and the result is ....very white ...
a complete make-over was the result and all my red had to make place for the new white .
Must say I do miss my red .... But hey the white is very christmassy ....
While writing this I realise it is also hospitallish .... but let's block that ..... Snowish ....
I am still here and cannot believe what's happening and that we still are doing well .... Thanx to all of the prayers from dear friends .

I love how you find the perfect picture to go with you beautiful words. Makes the whole reading experience for us just that much more magical.
ReplyDeleteI loved this. You have stired many thoughts within me, they are like a pinball machine.
For ME, I associated this very much with the Gift of the Birth of our Savior.
I loved the line "waited with every breath, for When You Come"
(I'd check the exact words, but I am on my son's computer and it doesn't allow me to go back and forth without loosing what I just said)
Also... I love to think that ALL of us here , are on this earth for a sacred interlude. To bring Joy, Fun, Light to those we come in contact with.
anyway, like I said, A pinball machine of thoughts.
Beautiful Anita. You have talent aplenty.
merry Christmas.
Big hug.
You have such an art for finding the right pictures to go with your words.
ReplyDeleteMakes the whole experience magical for us readers.
My thoughts that you stired within me on this post, are like a pinball machine right now.
It mainly made me think though of our Savior, ....WHEN HE CAME...

Although many comments
ReplyDeletetie your words purely to
the snow, I also read between
the lines to mean the coming
of our sweet Lord. Ironic,
isn't it, that WE do not have
any snow in our forecast?
But of course, we will still
receive the blessing of Christ.
Lovely post, dear friend. I
wish you the Merriest of
Christmas! See you next
week!

ReplyDeleteOh Yes...Yes...Yes it is SO busy. I am at the store both day and night these days. The light at the end of the tunnel is that we will be closed between Christmas and New years, so there will be lots of time for joy, love, and much fun.
Well both of my baby birds are back in the nest until the new year...YIPPPPPPEEEE!
I can't wait for the holiday festivities to begin. I just want to stay in my P.J.s ALL morning...well at least until 10 or so. :) ( definitely a treat).
Off to get the HOT CHOCOLATE on...I will pour a cup for you too! Hugs to you dearest!
Hope your holiday is off to a great start and your days are MERRY and BRIGHT....xoxo......Rosie

Just popping in to see these beautiful white horses and ladies again...like a quartet of Snow Queens...oh, wait...a quintet... And to read your lovely words about our Saviour. It's almost Christmas, dear friend, and I'm sending you the softest snowball, filled with a heart of love.
ReplyDeleteJoyeux Noël to you and Ruben,
dawne
Wow!You said it so perfectly.I also just read one of Ruben's.Wouldn't it be something sweet for your family to cherish if you both put a few of your favorites in the same book.Give it to your family as a gift next Christmas.Have you already done that?Anita,I love your drawing that Ruben uses as a header for His Wit blog.Perfect!
ReplyDeleteHello dearest Anita
ReplyDeleteI think Violet with Create Beauty summed your post all up with the poem by Christina Rosetti...my! Especially the part about how Heaven and Earth cannot contain our God. Wow! That phrase is what you were conveying here in your prose. When He Comes! Amazing.
When I walk outside my back door and walk on the grass and feel it beneath my feet...and when my fruit trees are bearing fruit and I can reach out and pull it off the tree...it fits perfectly in my hand...all nature is perfectly made to the proper scale. Bugs are the right size not ten feet tall! We have just the right amount of sunshine, the right amount of oxygen to sustain life. Everything has been provided us by our dear loving God. How can people not see God in His Creation! The heavens declare the glory of God, and his handiwork shows forth his knowledge...there is no voice or language where it cannot be understood. What is so obvious to those who love God, and it is available for anyone to BELIEVE! Just believe...that is all that is required of us. God has made it so simple.
Thank you dearest for coming to my blog to read about LOTR and Harry Potter....both books of such power against evil. Oh, and I am writing and editing my novel. Wish me luck!
May you have a very blessed Holiday!
Teresa
OH, and it is because of your inspiring words that you have placed in my heart to use the God-given gifts he has bestowed upon me to write and finish my novel in order to inspire others.
ReplyDeleteBe blessed this week~

Teresa
