HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO
ALL.
Note: I deeply apologize for possibly offending anyone who does not have a loved one near them or if you know someone who is homeless or alone. I posted this post in haste on Sunday and should have included photos to represent the entire population. I have added additional photos. Thank you.
Anita
That was a sweet Thanksgiving wish. But I have to say that as beautiful as all the pictures of architecture and nature and human love, it was those two mutts that put a smile on my face. But then again, as you well know, I'm easily amused.
ReplyDeleteAnita I hope you have a lovely thanksgiving week...as lovely as the words and photos you have knit together for us, your eager fans
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving !

Happy Thanksgiving to you to sweet Anita.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have the most wonderful of holiday seasons.

I am afraid that sentiment simply is not true, my friend. At the homeless shelters where we volunteer, the nursing homes and in the prisons...these people have NO ONE. I wish it were not so. Please pray for those who truly have no one...and be grateful we are not among them.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Thanksgiving, Anita.

Dearest Anita, thanks for coming today! Don't say your show was a flop, if you sold 3 things - that's GREAT!
ReplyDeleteOh, i know from prevous exibitions i've had, how difficult it is to sell SOMETHING sometimes. Especially frustrating, if so many people tell you they like your work, but so few buy. A good friend of mine just mailed me to say that she sold NOTHING at a big art show - and she does big paintings and tries to live of her art - how bad!
I had a good time for a few years, when i worked with a nice gallery in switzerland, who sold well for me. But than the guy moved to a much bigger space and went bankrupt ...Oh, the art life is NOT EASY my dear, but iit's still worth living, because - the world needs crazy people like us ;) Much Love - keep sparkling!
My dear friend,
ReplyDeleteYour massage today is timeless. We are all born with a need to be loved and never outgrow it. And when we love ourselves and others, when we are kind and respectful, we INSPIRE with such attitude. You understand all that very well and I am grateful for you.
I hope you have a really great Thanksgiving!
I just watched the video.... nothing like a barbershop quartet!!!
ReplyDeleteMy father was a barber.
He could play the harmonica.
He had a good voice.
But I don't think he employed all of his talents at once : )
The last time I ever let him touch my hair was when I was in Kindergarten and kids teased me about looking like a boy. Wouldn't you know this was the haircut I had for school photos....
~ Violet
So beautiful, some of those pictures are real tear jerkers.
ReplyDeleteAlthough i have to admit i love the the westie and scotty best of all.
x
We all are blessed no matter what our situation...we can all have GOD's PEACE and that is free!
ReplyDeleteLove your post today dear one...sending you oooodles of joy today...it is one wet one here but that is fine with me...more the cozy.
Your Thanksgiving is just around the corner!!! Enjoy your week...so exciting to think of all the things we can be thankful for. xoxoxoox
You must let me know how your show went. xoxoxo

ReplyDeleteEvery single day I have been meaning to pop over to you and then LIFE has got in the way, which is a real shame.
This post is gorgeous and I am sure you didn't offend people at all. You can't cover every single aspect of Thanksgiving so don't beat yourself up.

Susan x
P.S I've been working hard on my new pattern and hope to be posting at the end of the week again!
Oh dear,
ReplyDeleteI actually thought this would not offend anyone at all. You have expressed that everyone in the world is loved, even the homeless and abandoned. That should be expressed to them, especially at this time of year. I will tell you something - I used to do volunteer work with the homeless in my area, and I would hand out food to them and have conversation. We are so blessed to have family and places to go for this holiday, but some do not have that right now, and I feel so much for them in my heart. You love all people, every race, man, woman, and child. I just went to church today and they talked about love. You have the gift of love, and I wish the unappreciated and lonely could see your post and know that they are loved too. Maybe it will reach them through your heart. Happy Thanksgiving, dear. Oh, the girls will be coming over on Thanksgiving, and we want to browse through your etsy shop and maybe get a little something.
~Sheri at Red Rose Alley
Happy Thanksgiving Anita.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you art show was wonderful.
Karen
Anita! hi! hahahaha, you are so fun.
ReplyDelete#1, thanks for your fun compliments. i feel REALLY good about this banner/favicon/button/ etc. I am so happy with it. thank you!!!
#2, there are 3 pic favs in this post; the close up of the baby [melts me], the child running to his fathers had for wwII [tugs at my heart] and the winter home with no disruption to the snow yet the porch light is on [who is there and are they ok?].
#3, yes we are going to my 1stdd home for Thanksgiving. we meet at noon and have a feast twice; noon at 6 pm. yay! can't wait to hug all my grandkidlets!!!
hope you have a nice holiday and that you get to spend nice hours with your husband!

Oh boy, I had not seen your note at the end. :( Sorry to hear, love. We can't please everyone, but you are one of the most compassionate and kind people I know so you have nothing to apologize for. God knows our hearts...and I can certainly see a peek of yours through His eyes.

Dear Anita
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming over to my humble old blog. It touches me that you find time in your day to actually do this.
I actually just wrote you a long comment and it deleted for some annoying reason.
What I was saying was your blog is one of my ultimate favourites. I LOVE the way you redesign it each time and I love the images you use to depict your prose. You always stoke up my imagination and that pink cottage is so dreamy.
Happy Thanksgiving. Tell me what you will be eating, wearing and what you will be doing.
Big love

ReplyDeleteOutside the fog has surrounded us as though it is saying...stay in, stay home, stay cozy in our homes.
My list is long this year as I realize every year I have had a roof over my head, someone loves me, I've had animals and humans all my life right by my side. I have power and water when so many have had none. I'm thankful beyond measure. I have nothing in this world to complain about.
May you be warm and cozy today as you reflect on blessings all around you.

Blessings to you and Ruben! Keep creating and enjoying each day to the fullest ma belle. I am so busy preparing my special gifts for loved ones at Christmastide and will probably be working right up to the wire. What fun - what mayhem - What a time of magic!
Love & hugs to you! Sherry
As always, Anita, many profound thoughts and words here on your blog, and by far, beautiful and touching photos as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the Thanksgiving well wishes, even though I am a bit late with mine!
Ah, I know the disappointment of not having many sales for a show...I've been there and done that for twenty years, which stopped in 2006 with my dear, sweet mother-in-law who must have crocheted 1,000 afghans! I made the doilies and soft sculpture cats to sell along side of her at a very special craft show in our city.
But it was always the experience of the kindred spirit with the other crafters who were present all day long, and the many lovely people who came to shop.
hugs,
Teresa

Greetings dearest Anita. I am in the process of catching up on your wonderful posts. There has been alot going on here.... too much to do, sickness, and a temperamental computer that has my nerves on end. Needless to say I have fallen behind in my visits. This is such a lovely post and a good reminder of what is important I am so glad you included our fur babies who's unconditional love we can always count on. And that house by the stream, beautiful!! I appreciate you Anita, thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteAnita, this was a sweet post. I agree with you, someone loves us or even if we have no one now, at one time someone loved us, at least I hope so.
ReplyDeleteMy Casa Bella
