It floats

on the wings

of tongues
 
and

dives off

the stanza of poem and promise.

What can summon its descent

from the heavens?

It will fall as letters 

then as sentences on a page

of 

brown ground 

troubled with blindness.

 Then

will wrap its nakedness

  in flesh

of

black, white, and brown shapes

and we will see how

a citizen

of

the otherworldly

can touch feet to earth

put face, her face

on

the intangible

and walk page after page

through eternity.
