I enjoyed reading your translation of the words on the plaque. You were really close. The words say that love is the foundation/the base of it all or 'it's all about love'. So beautiful, especially when you know that the building onto which the plaque is attached, was an orphanage in the 17th and 18th century. I hope the children got the love they deserved.

ReplyDeleteAn email will follow...I am planning a major fram job on it where again I will feature the painting along with a make mentioning about every how the painting cam about. When I spotted your header and told you it was my all time most favorite header to date it was due to my life growing up in the Bay Area of Northern Ca. Carmel is where I fell in love, and being a dear friend of Cindy's I often send her photos of inspiration ...
When I saw your header, I sent her over to you, but by the time she visited she came back to me saying she did not see the header I was talking about. I then told her perhaps Anita will privately share it with you. To my great surprise, I was totally in shock when a package came to me, a knock at my door via Fed-ex! I tore through it like Christmas morning, tears flowing and over taken with a love replaced in my heart as to my true love found on the cliffs of Carmel Ca.
As to not mentioning you or where the exact inspiration came from was not of neglect, but rather leaving it open to making it only about Cindy Austin-Redmen and the mystery as to who the blogger was... Also knowing I would leave the door open for another grand post on all that inspired the painting. Again it's due to get framed with grand salvage if it works out? If not I will still hunt for the perfect pieces for this said painting.
Yes, being an artist myself, I find joy in Cindy's art, and what do you think? It's such a great French fit for my French rural cottage.
I love the sheep, and many areas of the Bay Area you will find sheep grazing about, it feels so close to the countryside of France, and this is why I am so enamored with this piece.
