~Show doN't Tell~

How do you find the right words in order

to show

and not

tell what is in

your heart?

Sparkling moments

can change a person's life

by one fragrant sentence

or a kind action.

We are ALL creative at different levels

but do we know our potential?

Find a quiet spot

and think about the

daily choices

you make

to

make someone's day

more beautiful.

OBSERVE

the dance of your everyday comings and goings.

Did you EMPOWER someone or YOURSELF

TODAY?

call a new friend across the country

or call an old friend

across town.

Let what you practice

and express

formulate a transparent

surface

through which the depths of your heart

reveal a

Sparkling Moment

that can change the world.

Oh so close to my heart, powerful and perfect! I took a summer job to "give back" - it was soooooo boring. But I decided to hang in there because it isn't about me. It has been such a lesson in humility for me - again, I gained more than I gave. Jenn

Oh Anita you've done it again. Sheer bliss. I ran over here as soon as I got your comment and I will keep you in prayer dearest. I have heard of this happening to others...and it can be scary. Definetly best to be cautious. You know I blogged for three years as Fairmaiden before ever revealing my real name Kerrie. I tend to be too careful. But better to be careful than sorry. I also don't talk about my children very often or post photos of them for same reasons. Sending bundles of love to you my friend. ox

Dear Anita,Once again your post brought a tear to my eyes. I am always inspired, and touched by every post, here at Castles and Crowns. As my 50th brithday very quickly approaches, I find myself asking what really matters to me, what makes me happy, what have I accomplished in my life? Not that I think my life is near it's end..oh no, I have MUCH yet to do,and I hope that the fall of my life will bring forth inner peace, and fulfillment of long wished for dreams. I think, for me, the answers lie more in the people I surround myself with, rather than the things...I am so glad you are a part of my daily life Anita. Even if it is only an internet connection,it' is really much more. I "hear" your soul. You are wonder, and light, and love, my friend! I hope you know how much you are loved, and respected by so many! Blessings Much Love, Christel

YES, YES, YES...let us strive to put a smile on the faces we see throughout the day. It takes so very little and yet we so often miss those precious opportunities. Thank you Dearest, for this BEAUTIFUL reminder.
Today was another day of blissful blue paint. Martha Stewart's "Enamelware". Pulled a vintage wrought iron crib out of the corner and by removing one side rail and adding a thick new foam mattress, A DAY BED IS BORN :) cut up turquoise/lime green matelasse to do a cover and will finish it off tomorrow.
Well you my dear are doing nothing but partying...AND OH, I WISH I WAS CLOSER, for you my dear really DO put a smile on my face, and a song in my heart. Have a fabulous Friday, and I shall put the kettle on, and leave a raspberry scone ready for you to nibble on...see you in the morning...xoxo...R

This was so wonderful...again.
Words and indeed, deeds, can be so wonderful. We know them as 'R.A.K. Attacks'. (short for 'Random Acts of Kindness') Just some small or not so small, 'something' done for another with the specific purpose of showing thoughtful kindness...to help light up someones day...put a smile on someones face.
It always amazes me that you can put into words and (turquoise:) photos just what you are thinking and feeling. Thankyou sweet lady for sharing your talent with us.

I try to set a good example for my beloved daughter. We have been so blessed and the kindness of strangers has been the seed, the sun and the rain to me. We always give big bills to the homeless, the indigent and, yes, even the drunkards. Who am I to deny an alcoholic a good night's sleep? Who knows what he or she is running from (or to?)?
I do, however, tell the lost that Jesus loves them, misses them and is waiting for them to come Home.
"Look them in the eye", I tell my daughter. "They are our brothers, our sisters. They are us." She listens. She has been known to spontaneously hug people in wheelchairs. She listens.
A kind word and a twenty dollar bill go further than judgement and empty sentiment.
You are a blessing to me, friend. Thank you.

When I open my eyes, first thing in the morning, and hear the whisper of rain, against my window, I just want to snuggle down for but a few more minutes...I too LOVE a good storm. It makes the sunny days ever so precious :)
Today, Bill and I scurried around ALL morning, with "picking up furniture" at the top of the list. Then I painted a VERY Victorian chair. She has sat on the sidelines for a VERY LONG TIME, because she was SO fancy, but I finally decided how I would dress her. Simple white paint with a burlap seat. Have never UPHOLSTERED with burlap before and so this may not work. Plan "B" is linen...so we'll see.
Tomorrow I shall give this a go. Enjoy your Sunday my dear, "Rendez-vous dans la matinée mon cher ami"... l'amour ... Rosie

What moved me to tears today, moved me to action. A sweet little dog left in a car for 8 hrs. I was having a fit. I told the women, let me have the dog, I'll take her home with me until you get off work. She would not let me but I was so upset about this dog. I've worried about it all night and decided just to pray. We can't fix what is wrong sometimes but we can enjoy all that is right in the world.

Tonight, I'm a bit tired. We have a thunderstorm and the leaves are even starting to fall. Could autumn be arriving? Oh please tell me no. I read what you said about the rain dumping on you too. Girls like us however have a good set of boots and fancy umbrella's to go out and play, any old day.

I'm still trying to do something everyday to help or contribute to someone elses day. It's been a good goal and the reward is great. I take the pleasure of seeing the smile on someones face. I find in our world today, people need so much love and it's always good to give away a big cup of hope too.

Night night, sleep tight!

On my trip, I got lost frequently. Driving the obscure little roads in the ENglish country side was tough, if beautiful. On 3 different occasions when I was lost, lovely Englishmen came to my aid and escorted me to the right roads... 2 went completely out of their way to do it. It made getting lost feel like a gift of beautiful spirit. I was so buoyed by the experiences... well getting lost became great memories. I still smile remembering it. "Kindness is to give one what he/she needs NOT what he/she deserve".
How easy is that?
NOT easy at all because it comes from the grace that Only God give men kind.

To do things without "telling" is so much bigger and effetive.

BUT sometimes words are necessary and ((( YOU))) have show this to me.

Please come to my blog ( miniature) this evening as I am doing a different post and it will never be the same if YOU are not there!

Vicky, SWEET Vicky...giggle...she is wearin' burlap and white tonight. The burlap was WONDERFUL to upholster with. It had a great stability and yet a bit give on the bias. Totally searchin' for other pieces to sport this look. As soon as she enters the shop, I will try to take a few snappies of this last week's work.
So what is this about WATER in your basement!!!??? OH NO! What do you have to do to correct this problem? Hoping it will have an affordable solution.
So glad you sat beside me for a great service this morning. It was SO timely to watch this one, after your inspirational post :) I'm smilin' SO BIG right now :) HUGS
I am checking whenever I am in the shop, for this little surprise you have shipped my way...CAN'T HARDLY WAIT. Our postal service is pretty slow right now...but I will TRY to be patient. :)
Will be shoppin' in the mornin'...what do ya need...eggs, milk, bread....purse, scarf, necklace...WHAT WILL IT BE SISTA?
Can't decide?...Well OK, why don't you just come with me. I'll pick you up at 8:00...see ya in the mornin' xoxox Rosie

Oh dearest you have a NEW "pool room/sauna room " maybe we could work with this...our cup could be half FULL...no? Oh dearest our old house used to have water issues in the spring for years and then with out any conceivable reason, it just stopped and to this day mom has not had a drop of water.
But this will not dampen your spirits my dear, for I KNOW you will make lemon aid with any lemons that are dropped on your doorstep.
After a FAST shopping trip, I put a coat of gray paint on this lovely little dresser, but alas, I seem ALWAYS to go a bit to light...will I EVER learn? May have to darken it a bit with the last coat.
Oh dear one enjoy your garden in the cool of the morning and find a little corner to curl up in when the heat becomes too much. Sip on some of that tasty lemon aid. If you will be so kind as to pour a glass I will join you while the paint is drying...see you in the morning xoxo Rosie

How was your weekend? I hope you have had lots of moments creating!
I did end up going to San Francisco, so that is why I am just coming around for a visit! And since being back, I have found it so hard to come up with a post for my blog. I hope I gain some inspiration soon!
On my little roadtrip, there was so much inspiration to be soaked in from everywhere. So much to see and do. There really is inspiration all around us :)
I hope you have a beautiful new week filled with much for writing and creating!
How is your painting coming along?
Lots of love to you!

That was a beautiful and powerful Video. and Yes, it made me get a tear in my eye.
OH....the power of Words.
The ones we choose
the WAY we choose to say them.

Let's hope we never have to "eat them"....but put out our words like a wonderful Buffet of love and kindness.
THEN....make sure our actions carry out the GOOD words,

Actions speak louder then words sometimes too .....like the girl in the video, HER ACTIONS WAS LOVE not verbalized, and just by changing the "words" on the sign, It also made others perform ACTIONS OF LOVE.

so cooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a lovely lady you are Anita. I just want to go for a walk with you and talk, and enjoy your sweet soul.

So it was you who was painting your chandy, right along side me...the humming and teeheeing...I thought it was YOU dearest :) I finished antiquing that sweet grey dresser and used a new technique that worked quite well. Will take a snappy tomorrow, of all the goodies of this past week.
Will be painting AGAIN tomorrow. Dropped off the blue French Provincial grouping last night and popped into the shop this morning to see how Marlene had arranged it under three sparkly chandies...oh it was so fresh and fun. Then while I stood smiling at these pretties one of our regular customers scooped in and purchased 3 of the 4 pieces...AHHHHHHHH!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!! It wasn't here long enough! Thank you Lord for this sale...but I JUST wanted it to enjoy it a bit longer.
SO...Did I say I MUST START ALL OVER TOMORROW?...Hmmmm...Oh well.
After you have played a little Harp and Read a bit of poetry, come on over and lets paint TOGETHER. IF ONLY that were possible, my JOY would be ever FULLER...see you in the morning sweet girl xoxo Rosie

Happy Thursday, Anita!

Thank you for sharing that quote with me about taking something complicated and simplifying it. It is a wonderful thing to ponder!
I have been noticing a lot of other artists lately, and even though it makes me so frustrated at times that I am not as good as them, it is inspiring at the same time. But, we need those people to look up to and admire, don't we?
How is your week coming along? Today seems like a great day to paint or draw, so that is what I plan to do. How about you? :)

Hi Anita! Oh yes... over 90 again today ~ clearer skies, which I think means less humidity... but still, phew!
Still organizing and cleaning our neglected basement ~ {I keep saying, "I'm in the deep downs" as Miggory Sow refers to the dungeon, in Tale of Despereaux}
We have one little air conditioner in our dining room cooling most of the first floor. All our bedrooms are closed off and Chris and I have been sleeping in the room we've set aside for my father when he's here.
I think we get a reprieve on Sunday ~ thank the Lord. Wish I could send those cooler breezes over to Jason in Austin.
I think of you in your art studio ~ Do you have finished walls in your basement? Ours is pretty much the original cinder blocks and concrete of construction.

Well, can you tell I have needed a break from the "deep downs!?"

Have a beautiful afternoon ~ wishing you cool breezes!
