Because I know the "story behind this post" ..... I think this was a beautiful way to express your feelings WHILE WE ARE STILL ON THIS EARTH. How perfect is Ruben's post and how beautifully they merge together.
I have FINALLY learned that it is NEVER too late to tell someone how much they mean to you, and it is NEVER to late to say your sorry to the people who matter most in your life.
For your friend, and others who touched our souls while on this earth:
"There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. "
A beautiful post, as always...from my beautiful friend.
LOVE YOU! xo

Dear Anita,

Are you ok? It sounds as if you have had an intense time of things and I am truly sorry for your loss. There is always, as you have beautifully penned here, a silver lining to every great big grumpy grey cloud and I know you will see that glittering lining and reach out and grasp it for the good of all those who love you.

You and Ruben are on the same wave-length of thought and heart this weekend... thank you for letting your light shine and spill over into our lives, which are only better for knowing you!!!

I was thinking about the butterfly effect and my father... in his life he was a slave to alchohol, and it destroyed so much of his potential. After my older brother was born, my father disappeared for 4 years. My mother didn't know if she would ever see him again. Had he not returned, I would not be here, nor my children or grandchildren, and generations to come, and who knows what they will accomplish? What good will be done for here and for eternity... it gives me chills!!!

Love you so,
Violet

Dearest Anita
Thank you for leading us to your husband's blog to watch 'The Butterfly Affect'...how profound. I could write a psychological novel of how men's and women's personalities affect others for good or for bad. Even children we grow up with have lasting affects on how we perceive life. We are so impressionable...always. But it is our choices who truly make us who we are...that is what Dumbledore told Harry Potter. I did write a post on 'A Fanciful Twist' a while back when she asked how people had affected us...and HOW WE HAD OVERCOME by being strong within ourselves. The people who were in 'The Butterfly Affect' had to overcome great odds of fear when they were holding on to the threads of life. Thank you for sharing... EVERYTHING WE DO MATTERS!!! Yes!!!
Have a blessed week dear friend~

You know, I complain about the horrid state of our world frequently... especially about mean-spirited commercials. But there was one a while back that was different. It showed one guy doing a nice thing for someone who did a nice thing for someone else. They turned a frown into a smile. Simplistic, perhaps but that is the butterfly effect. The kindness of a stranger will brighten a day immeasurably. When it's a loved one or friend who has been lost or wounded the step toward changing it lightens the spirit. We should do it more often. The magic is in us to do it.

...how true that each and everyone of us matters! ~ and that we ALL can make a difference ~ every day ~ in a positive way.
as we all are all made up of energy and are forces to be reckoned with :)
the only question we really need to ask ourselves is,
will i be a positive force ~or~ a negative force today?
will i allow my "ego" to control me ~or~ will i choose instead to be a tool, using the talent and gifts i've been given and get to the heart of what truly matters...it must begin with each and every one of us and to accomplish this, we must be the change that we wish to see...

Oh, I've come over a few times and finally able to connect. Anita, I went over to your husband's blog and saw the little video on his post. I never knew what the butterfly effect was until my son talked with me about it. It makes sense though, as everything we do and say can affect those around us. IT ALL MATTERS, doesn't it? With spouses and children and siblings and aging parents and everyday life, sometimes we forget all of this in the world around us. Thank you so much for the reminder, and yes, 'thank yous' and courtesies are so important. My mom always taught us to say PLEASE. I seldom hear that any more. Loved this post, and you are such a doll. Anita, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear friend.

Dearest Anita, i just watched the butterfly effect and left a message at Rubens - it fits so well with the post you did and this breathtaking butterfly picture up there. It sounds like you had such an intense time at the funeral/life celebration and it makes me think of a dear friend of ours, still young, who died some years ago - a very strong person who has touched the lifes of many. Somehow and strangely, death adds such an intensity to life and the search of it's meaning, more than words can ever say. Fairy dust maybe travels from one world to the other and i think, things are connected not only on earth but everywhere. Your butterfly wings are surely spreading so much love and poerty Anita - much love from me!

I've left my comment on Ruben's page, but thank you. You & Ruben share the heart strings of life in such a unique way...

The circle of our lives is short, and we never know who we may be influencing. Because I believe in God, my responsiblity is to make the very life He has given me, count for eternity. A seed planted, is not wasted. HE is the cultivator of each one. This is a short life in terms of eternity, as you have both pointed out, and what we do may last for generations... and I am 'getting busy'!! :)

Oh your fairy-dust image is so sparkling .....
You must be a fairy at night and follow fairy-workshops at night !
It is so wonderful and comforting and enlightening to be here ....
My days are a roller coaster of unknown feelings and experiences .
On wednesday Elisabeth was in the hospital for a small operation to implant a portocap . She was in pain after that and had difficulties breathing . She had to spend the night as agreed because the next day she was to have her first chemo .
She did not sleep all night ...pain breathing . the photo's showed nothing so they gave her the chemo .
I will neven forget how she looked when she came home . Her best friend Sonja went along heras she wanted !
The time at home was not at all as I imagened . I wanted to be a Florence Nightingale ......but she was in so much pain .....
and what do I know about how it is supposed to be after such a terrible thing as chemo at the age of 28 ? So I tried everything but ....... nothing helped and saterdaymorning I was desperate and I thought this cannot be ....we still have 17 1/2 weeks to go ....
And than I called the hospital and they wanted to see here ...there !
I had an inspiration and called her big brother if he could go with her .And he did .....so I could be Florence-at-home and make it all ready for a new start .
They were there all day and at last a scan made it clear Her lung was collapsed ! The poor thing ...
She had to stay and they gave here oxigen and morphine .......
and I ....was glad she was there ..
feeling a bad mother but with time to recover .
Of course it is about Elisabeth but I am looking for the motherpart in all of this ......
A good night sleep for me and I was back ......
She still is in the hospital and she always was like a very cheery bird needing lots and lots of freedom to fly ...... and now she is caged and having far to much to deal with .....
She is not at all ! ! ! easy on the nurses .....oh my ......
Now you know a little bit .....
Lots of hugs for you dearest

I''m feeling the effect this week dear Anita. Loosing Pierrette has had a big impact on me. I just called Sister in Montréal. She's at a very nice convent with some of Pierrettes "sister" friends. They are taking care of her instead of Sister taking care of others for a change. She said the sun was shining so bright today, and from her window she could see the hospital where Pierrette died. She said the heavens were talking to her. She was happy in her heart today.
I will see her this Sat. for the funeral. It's an open casket, which scares me, always has, but I will be there for my SISTER Lolotte.

Dearest Anita: I visited your sweet Ruben's blog and saw the Butterfly effect clip. It is true, what we do can impact the lives of others in ways we may never know.

Oh dearest...what a responsibility we have to make a difference...and when those opportunities arise, I pray that I will, stop, and consciously make the decision to flap my wings.
Oh dearest what a great post...tell your sweet fellow that I LOVED it.
Life on the home front is nutty...just when I think it can't get ANY CrAzIeR...IT DOES!
My days are filled with painting furniture...grey, lots and lots of glorious grey, shopping for rustic signage and French goodness, and placing order after order online...so excited to see if these treasures are as charming as I thing they could be. Oh I am breathing in the JOY. But, regret that I have so little time to sit and savor a cuppa with my Sweet, Minnesota Girl...thinking of you often, SO OFTEN. Missing you. Thank you for ALWAYS dropping by, even when I can't come out to play, I know you are there waiting. So I am blowing you a butterfly kiss and wishing you sweet dreams...love you dearest...R

Dearest,
What an incredibly beautiful post...my chill bumps continue to multiply out of control...
You have no idea how many times you and your inspiring words come to mind at least once every day, especially as I sit in my studio at my Aunt Marguerites beautiful little oak table. Your words here hit home...for she is approaching her last days, as I write this. She used to sit at her little table in her farmhouse kitchen, drinking her coffee and watching her birds. Yesterday morning, I was doing the very same thing when mother called to tell me of her dying will to live...I relayed to her my simple revelation, which she then relayed to my cousin, which he then promised to share with his mother, saying it would bring her comfort. She is leaving behind a legacy, not one to record in the history books, nevertheless....she has been loved and has loved much. I am thankful she taught me to walk gracefully in heels, well into her 80's, always take your vitamins and wear moisture cream, and never carry your oxygen tank to church;) What a woman.
Thank you for this moving music...the magnificent photos...the piercing words, speaking truth to the core. You are a wonder, my dear!
Your Etsy items have taken my breath!! I will be visiting soon, dearest artist:)
Much love and big GIANT (((((((hugs))))))),
Christie

Happy Friday beautiful Anita!!!!!
Guess what? We got snow yesterday!!!!
It's absolutely beautiful and a white wonderland outside!!!
There are flurries today and it is very cold!!!!
Do you have any plans this weekend?
I bought a vintage 1920 dark blue velvet coat with floral print silk lining. It's amazing!!!!! I feel like it has a story & would love to know about the woman who owned this 85 years ago!!!!
My parents texted me a mini video of them enjoying the pool at the home they rented in Arizona. It's funny to see them in 80 degree weather when it's snowy and 17 degrees here!!!
Is snow expected by you?
Hope you are having a wonderful Friday the 13th!!!
TTYS!!!!!! :-)
Hugs,
Shannon

Dear Anita,

Thanks so much for visiting me and I am feeling okay - have been taking ibprofen. I had glandular fever when I was in my 20's and it is kind of like that. One side of my face, under my ear is swollen, so not much fun. The Dr said that it was quite common.

Always a pleasure to come and visit you again and see all the gorgeous things you share.

Have a happy weekend, dear friend and now I will go and visit Reuben's blog.
Hugs
Carolyn
