Oh yes! I have been trying to focus on the little steps that combine to accomplish dreams this week, and to do something that makes me uncomfortable enough to nearly gasp at my own bravery. Your post is beautiful and timely for me!

Those bridal favors are so pretty. I wish I had known you when I got married, but that was a while ago now. :)

The Pinterest terms of service business makes me a little nervous, I have to admit. I wish I could find the original source to credit for every pin, but even though I commonly look, sometimes it seems virtually impossible to find the original creator. What do you think of it all?

I love dreams... they have, so very many times shown me an image for my work that is so mad and wonderful it wakes me up to write it down –– woe to us who can't get it down fast enough before it runs back into that creative room between our ears and the door closes.

Once in a while, like Alice or the children in Lion Witch... it comes out again for you but mostly it is one view, one flash and then poof, all is fairy dust and lost. You must grasp it in a wild improbable reach when it comes to you... at least I think so. What we make of the dreams when we wake is what is important. I sometimes think it is the essence of ourselves trying to speak to our surface selves.... a true artist knows how to tap that more than we mere mortals.

Dreams can make sense of the madness of uninterpretable information that bombards us. It orders it and makes it our own if we only can catch the brilliant light.

As you say... seize the magic, lovely Anita.

My very special dear friend Anita.
Sometimes it's hard to find words .
Words to express ..... far beyond what's already been written in all the comments above .
Other's seem to be so much better in finding the right words.
I have been reading comments above and realize how difficult it is for me to express myself in your language . I guess I have to start reading in your language .....
But nevertheless ..... I will try here and now ....
I love your blog for it's unique appearance.....You being You !
Your shop is expanding and how absolutely fabulous your new artworks are .
I cannot believe you are able to do all of this next to your job !
And yet I can believe because this is you being you in all the things you have to do ..... to servive .
It is in all of this you are such an inspiration to so many of us .
I love being your friend and you being my friend .
Spring is coming soon overhere .
In may our darling Eva will have her very first birthday .....
Being a grandmother for almost a year has been such a gift of life .... It was also my first year without my work . Being a teacher in kindergarten was not just my job but also who I was and will always be .... Someone who has deep respect for children on their way through life .... but also for the parents and for those two together ....that unique interplay ....those parents and that child ...together .....
I am still hoping I will find something meaningful for the time to come ...... the future ......
Spring has this magic energy of something coming but not yet vissable .....
You can feel it in the air ......
Are you having a kind of break ...springbreak ? I saw that on Maria's ?
I wish you lots of enjoyings .....
love and hugs

Hello, Anita Dear.....
I have to tell you what a great "re-memory" (as my nephew would say...) came to me when I saw your blue chick at the top of your blog!
When I was a young girl, my mother would always buy colored baby chicks for my sister, brother and me....and I always got pink or purple, of course. We got to keep them until they got larger and were completely white, then they went to a "farm friend".....uh huh. I'm pretty sure they were dinner for the "farm friend" within the next week, but that is beside the point...sort of....I'm still a little scarred. The point being, that we got to hold, snuggle and occasionally squish the little guys.
My sister fell on hers when she was carrying it and broke its leg. My mother worked for a doctor at the time, so we walked it down to the doctor's office and he...get this....x-rayed the baby chick's leg...as if we couldn't tell it was broken smack in half! When the break was confirmed, he put a pencil on the leg for a splint and taped the little guy up. The chick walked with a limp from thereafter, but he DID walk!
And one year my little brother decided he didn't want a chick, so he got a duck! I will never forget listening to the darned duck squawk the most annoying squawk. :)
All good memories and I just wanted to tell you "Thank you!!!" for them...you never know how one little thing you put "out there" will be a spark for someone else!
Hope you have a nice week ahead....
Your friend from Denver,
Sue

This is such a fabulous post!!!! I always try to remind myself to rise up & stay the course of my direction as there are difficult times when we can tend to veer off course a bit.
I attended the Chanel spring '12 accessories show at Saks 5th Ave. last week. What fun!!!! The bags are gorgeous, vibrant colors!!!! The shoes were amazing with such unique & whimsical details. The inspiration was an underwater dreamscape in the sea....
Hope you're having a wonderful Monday!!!!

Anita,

Awhile back you left a comment on my Rush Limbaugh post. IT OPENED MY EYES to something I'd been needing to hear from someone ... you said:

... people like the subject of your post waste their allotted time on earth and leave such a sad legacy. Sow kindness and love my friend, because we write our life story on earth and it WILL be read in eternity.

SO TRUE. I do not listen to Rush Limbaugh because he does make me really angry. And then I start becoming hateful and just like him and then I rant and rave on my blog and though sometimes it can come out funny, sometimes it leaves me feeling a little bit empty because I am behaving like all the other haters out there. What I am doing is not edifying to my soul ... and that makes me feel ashamed.

Your words were greatly appreciated because they went straight to my heart and reminded me that we are allotted only a small amount of time here on earth and it is our responsibility to sow kindness and love. So thank you my friend, for the Lord spoke to me through you .... and I NEEDED IT.

XOXO
Deb
