Technical Difficulties? Take a Break

We all know what it feels like.

I have lost my specially dedicated post for the week

to BLOGGER technical difficulties.

Therefore, I will take a break.

source unknown
And I will float OVER my dreams
via etsy
in hopes that I will wake up in a magical pumpkin patch

and find my way back to remember that

Love to you all, my dear and wonderful friends.

Let a Bluebird Fly

It all starts with the strike of a key

source unknown

and where our fingers land is determined by how

 HIGH our hearts have soared.

via

This sacred art of long-distance communication

gives us the wings to fly

via
 and the power

to kindle a circuitry of life

across the miles

via

in order to trigger the

CREATIVE CONNECTION.

Last weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota

I finally met her.

via bluebird notes

And through her luminous photos that I see every morning

via bluebird notes

I guessed pretty accurately that

Koralee's character would be just as

bright

via

and beautiful

via

as the daily hospitality she dishes up for

 you and me.

via bluebird notes

Amongst the passionate hum of a community of

artists, bloggers and business women

there we sat

via
laughing

crying

and looking at each other

in the eyes

only to have to eventually

let go and say

good-bye.

You see, you can't hold a beautiful bluebird in your hands

for too long.

unknown

You have to

open the window of your heart

unknown

and

let a bluebird fly.

Once Upon a Life

Book making

 poetry

paper mâché.

Theatres in gold

and shabby-chic gray.....

Through the years

my childlike curiosity

via

and ability to amuse myself

through the creative processes

source unknown

have sheltered me from the darkening skies

of the adult journey

via

However, something HAD truly been lost:

via

the faith to

tumblr

that my creations could be of real value

to others.

Then a very special exchange

occurred one day.

There have been many kind "thank-yous" and

compliments on my art since I started to

draw again after 40 long years

and I've never sent my drawings

any further

than to the addresses of

dear blogger friends

just for FUN.

But when designer and artist

Lisa Moran from Bilancia Designs received

some of my Audrey Hepburn sketches

the handmade treasures she sent me

were accompanied by not only

sincere  gratitude

but with specific advice, direction

and an expertise in the arts

that has actually EMPOWERED me

to dare to

and that is...

to awaken

the artist in me

to TRUST

and to take my skills to NEW HEIGHTS

via

and

sell my art.

A busy school year requires my full attention

and my writing goals are of the

utmost importance.

But if anything, Lisa has

made me think about

NOT FORGETTING

the artist I once was as a child

and to develop my abilities as an

adult.

In Someone Else's Shoes

I just caught the tail-end of it as I turned on the radio

to help keep me awake during my long morning drive to the classroom.

via

A local high school history teacher

had made history with his class

on the anniversary of 9/11

by giving his students a writing exercise.

source unknown
These young people were instructed to reflect

via

on what they had remembered about this

particular day

and then were challenged to put themselves in

someone else's shoes

via

and write diary entries from the

perspective of someone directly

affected by the attacks.

via

One of his students wrote from the point of view of a passenger

on board one of the hijacked planes.

The entry reads as follows:

"As I look at my husband and say,

'I love you'

I feel my baby kick for the first

via
and
last time."

via

Make every moment count.
