Pink Saturday: Follow Your Dreams?

It's another Pink Saturday hosted by Bev at How Sweet the Sound. Please visit her to see what's happening on the Pink scene this weekend! Please click on photos to enlarge.

Upon my bed I had a dream

of vintage beds in gold and cream

in gold and cream and pewter gray

my lovely dream was fading away

but not before I caught a wink

of a French boudoir in vintage pink.

- Castles Crowns and Cottages

Have you ever had a dream from which you wake thinking, "That was the best idea I've ever had?"

Well, I haven't been able to shake the idea that I would love to take this little dressing table in my bedroom

and paint it pink.

So I eagerly bounced out of my bed

and slipped on my little chaussons

and made a pot of tea to help me rethink my dream and plan my strategy

while I sat in my favorite pink chair.

As I recall, the surrounding décor was a soft French white with a subtle hint of pink

as opposed to this silk chair in a bold raspberry hue

or the almost blueberry tint of this chest of drawers from Nella Vetrina.

No, this was a soft, faded tone like that of my vintage diaries

or this magnificent pair of chairs with just the right touch of gold.

However, to my dismay, I ended up with a flat Pepto Bismo shade

that didn't quite fulfill my dreams. So next time I have a bright idea while dreaming, I'll just stay in bed a little longer

and let my whims wear off a bit before I follow my dreams!

Have a fun PINK SATURDAY and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Bonjour ma belle!

I LOVE this post! Such beautiful things to look at and great poetry mon professeur.I love the pink dressing table! If you want it lighter you might want to take a watered down ivory or white paint and wash over it. Perhaps an easy color correction.

Have la bonne week-end! Bisous, Sherry

What a beautiful post. How I would love to lay my head on any of those beds!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, and ofcourse, sweet dreams!

Hi Anita,

I agree with Sherry. I would do a light wash over the pink if you don't like it.
I "white washed" a china cabinet with a really dark green. I thought hubs would die but he actually likes it. At least you tried and that is what counts (quoting my son here-hehe).
Thank you for asking about the boys. I always appreciate it.

Hugs,
Barb

I don't dream of painting, I lie in bed wide awake thinking of things to re paint or make over...so much that I have trouble falling asleep. Although your idea is wonderful, I can't help think what your hubby thought of the pink table...I think my hubby would have put the cabash on that one...lol I'd like to see it if and when you redo it. And thank you for your well wishes Anita, it makes me feel happy knowing there are people who care.

My dear Anita....

What a grand and glorious post...I LOVED it...and those beds? DELISH!

I love your little dressing table...and I think it's a sweet pink. I know how it is to feel disappointed with a result...but it really is lovely!

And, your poem....how do you do that? I am SO NOT a poet. My brain's way too sleepy....yes, even when I'm awake.

Have a wonderful day my sweet friend.

What beautiful beds...any girl would want to dream away in those.

Great Post!

It doesn't look pepto pink to me. You might want to paint a light gray over it and distress a bit here and there to let the pink show through. I love your posts dear one!

I think you can't miss my shoes now if you check.

Hugs!

Hi Anita....I love the dressing table but I agree with others I would white wash it or something so it is not so "pepto pink"...I once did a bathroom in that color....like you, I called it my "pepto pink" bathroom. I think it will look great...just like in your dream....eventually! Btw, you have very vivid dreams!~Hugs, Patti

what a sweet poem - and fab photos!

I want that pair of chairs NOW.

I think your pink dressing table is a good color- it just needs a little distressing with darker pink and ecru!

Ahh, you can have great ideas in dreams, but it's a completely different story trying to implement them. Nevertheless, I don't think you did a bad job. Love the bedroom in the third pic and the first pink vintage boudoir... I can definitely see why you'd want to try it out!

P.S. Thanks for commenting back on my blog. I'm not French, but speak the language and just moved to Paris beginning of the year.

Well shoot, You may not be able to fulfill your dreams but you can fulfill the drawers with pink goodies and all will be well my dear Anita. My office, when I was an activity director (once upon a time ago) was the pepto color...and then I changed jobs...and left it all behind.
Thankful for you Anita, more than you'll ever know...

Hi Anita, haven't heard Je Chante since your little contest!

I loved all the beds you featured. In fact I'm thinking a little nap sounds good right now. I'll share pics of my room with you once I get it dressed up for the Christmas!

Love, Bonnie

PS - the pink dresser looked great to me. I think a white wash is a great idea!

Hi Love,
My favorite bed without a doubt is the gold one, fourth from the top. It's absolutely stunning. I checked out some of your past "pink" posts and I got a kick out of what I think was a teaser to your first one: the one with the pink rabbit picture at the front door welcoming visitors. Cute and hilarious at the same time.

Bonsoire ma chérie,
how lovely to get ready to go to bed feeling again you've been given some more royal treatment...
those beds are beyond words amazing. Could't say which one I'd love to be in right now.
Your pics are all so gorgeous, accompanied by the music of your words which gently lull me into a sort of magic slumber...
Each new post is outdoing the previous one. How do you manage that??????
Hope you won't mind my repeating myself in saying that you have a great talent in putting words, colors and photos together so as to make all look so sumptuously extraordinary.
Bisous
Rita

ANITA I LOVE IT JUST THE WAY IT IS. Good for you for realizing that not everything has to be beige, gold or browns. It is truly a little masterpiece.
Anne Marie would NOT like my cottage. lol
I would like to feature you on my blog in a couple of weeks. I'm taking a break and will be back soon.
Let me know if you are in approval, and what picture you would like me to spotlight.
Love Claudie

My sweet Anita....

Oh my.....I'm so sorry about your losing so many of your family to cancer. Oh how I wish they'd find a cure. It's such a dreadful disease. I used to work in a small Dr.'s office and five out of about ten of the employees had cancer.

Your Auntie sounds like a stunner....and a good cook too? WOW... And, what a sweet Mum to make you Barbie clothes. By the way...Barbies sure aren't what they used to be. I looked at some at the toy store today.... Hmmmmm...not so pretty.

I hope you have the yummiest and best Thanksgiving dear one....

Sending big huggies and lovies,
Spence
