After all that luscious French Pain de Campagne
Brioche Nanterre
and hard work to complete my thesis
some serious play
and some fun exercise is in order.
So why don't you grab your dancing shoes
and dance with me down memory lane and watch some of the best dance moments in movie history. And while we're at it, let's get up from our seats and DANCE along with the greats. Come on Fred and Cyd, bring it home....
Now let's go to the streets of "An American in Paris" and do Le Shim Sham avec M. Kelly...
And for a taste of my Spanish heritage, stomp along with the great José Greco. To Marie my cousin, this one's for you babe...
Can you keep up with Audrey, showing her dancing chops in Funny Face?
And now, let the grande dame of dance, Gwen Verden entertain you with her infectious laugh and perfect dance moves; have patience with this one, she lets it all hang out towards the end.
I don't know about you, but I'm inspired and feelin' good. How about taking something sweet, nutritious
and refreshing
and sit quietly in a nice corner
and dream of pretty things
and the warmth of eternal springs.
Thank you for dancing and celebrating with me. You are ALL magnifique!

I enjoyed my dancing (and I really needed the exercise with all of the cooking I've done lately:) but now I think I will rest in that lovely chair with a book. Instead of eating grapes I think I'll take mine in a glass in the form of wine:).
Blessings,
Kim
Bonjour Anita,
Oh your music is making me want to get up and dance. You deserve a little time on the dance floor after all your hard work. I like the way you bound your thesis.
Thanks for invite and now I'll have a rest.
Bonne week-end!
What a dreamy post, and speaking of dreamy those bed linens are to die for. I can't wait to see your new blog about miniatures. Another favorite thing of mine. I have been considering making miniature art in tiny frames. I love doll houses, miniatures, and all things tiny.
Karen
I've been dancing all week and I could have dance all night if it were not for tired bones and a fuzzy mind from way too much WORK! I'm off this morning to do it all over again...however...
Tomorrow, I'm putting on my dancing dolly shoes and heading for a fancy hotel down in Seattle to a doll show...All by my little old self. Beats Super Bowl Sunday anyday...
Anita,
Let's put on our dancing shoes and party the night away~
Are you ready??
Are you sure you weren't French in another life.
When I step into your world I can't help but think so.
What a great post Anita, the dancing, the photos, the ambiance.
How often do you come to France?
What a wonderful way to start the weekend! You do put a little beauty in the world!
Best,
Stephanie

Thank you Anita for the entertainment! We are cozy inside with 18-20 inches of snow around us! There is nothing like watching the pros do their thing! What a way to celebrate you accomplishment!~Hugs, Patti
Bonsoir Anita! I shopped all day with my daughter and sister in law and I was a little reluctant to get my feet back on the floor again, but as always your ideas proved right! Dancing gives energy and cheers you up! Now I have to stop myself! It is so good to see your thesis in print! Enjoy and have a lovely weekend! Bisous, LiLi
Ah Anita, I do have to warn you...chocolate can be very addictive, so be careful! You have the loveliest French shape now, chocolate can ruin it you know and make a heavy 'Dutch-like' woman out of you. Now we don't want that do we? Louis Napoleon once said when he was King of Holland that the Dutch women were too big and too fat. Chocolate was made here for ages, so he might have been right. So I have to warn you and believe me, I am experienced with this! Just enjoy, but don't take too much!
Love it all Anita!
My favorite dancers and movies of course!!
Yes black crowns are in yours and my future. I'm working on some ideas.
Chat soon,
Rosemary
I have an award for you in my blog!
Have a wonderful sunday!
HOLA CHICA! Girl - loved this post. First of all - my mother LOVED Jose Greco and saw him way back in the 1960's at the Greek Theatre here in L.A. And, we had a friend whose daughter danced i his company and for a very short time, she was teaching me flamenco. LOVED LOVED LOVED Cyd Charise. Those long, long legs. She is one of my favorites. Gwen Verdin - OMG, incredible. Anita - what was your thesis about? Just curious.
I hope you and Ruben are getting buried in snow!
XXXOOO
Debbie
P.S. i meant to say i hope you and Ruben are NOT getting buried in snow! LOL!

Oh how splendid! A Party! And, this is ONE MAJOR celebration!......We must toast you to the completion of your thesis.....BIG STUFF!!!
Now, about the dancing part.....I'm so sorry to say I'm going to have to sit this one out, dear one. Even if I could dance I can't dance........know what I mean? :-)
My Mum was a huge Fred Astaire fan. She joined some kind of a club to get old movies that aren't readily available normally. She could watch him over and over and was convinced she'd get to dance with him in heaven.
I loved the little cup o' flowers....or is that fleurs? ......just too sweet.
Please don't forget to invite me again....I love your shin-digs! :-)
Huggies,
S

I loved seeing your book Anita! How wonderful. I can party a little more today, since my mouth is not as soar. Round one is over, now onto round two.
My mom enjoyed dancing so very much. When she married my dad, she knew her dancing days would be over. As you know he lost his legs in the war. At 91 she still knows how to shake her bootie lol
Thanks for the celebration. Just what the doctor ordered.
Stay warm my friend.
Love Claudie

Oh, my, my, my! This post came at me in pieces! *snicker*
From Bandwagon to Damn Yankees, a total delight...isn't Audrey fab in Funny Face?!
Love all the wonderful photographs ... and, for a boy who's not that wild about sea-foam green, that sea-foam green and lilac living room is an absolute knockout.
I've been so under the weather this week, and this has definitely lifted my spirits. Merci!
oh - and your thesis looks quite grand, as well! :)
argh
it came at me in sections, not in pieces.
I'm so out of it I can't even make a bad joke LOL

Hello Ms. Anita,
I did a search on both Oona and Miss Clara. WOW! Stunning creations. Both are talented although I confess I am partial to Miss Clara's work. Thank you for introducing me.
Wishing you a day filled with fairy magic and enchantment.
Cheers! =D

yvonne
I am quite positive I don't need to tell you how much I loved this post. Did I ever tell you I studied with Jose Greco's mistress? I did, right here in L.A. She was a wonderful dancer but passed away a few years after I started with her.
Thanks for the videos. Loved em.
Congratulations again on finishing that thesis! Hope you are enjoying! Great dance videos!
Kirsten

Bonjour once again dear Anita,
30 more years with your love - now that is the BEST answer of all!
What a lucky man!
Hi Anita,

Micki
Oh Anita I think we are very good at making each other hungry LOL!!! Have a wonderful day...Dzintra♥x
I cannot believe I never told you I studied with Lupe. I can't for the life of me remember her last name right now, but I can tell you, she was a beautiful dancer. She was very, very strict in her classroom and like Roberto Amaral, pushed us to the limit. She could sometimes be mean and nasty if she thought you had the potential to do better. I don't recall where but I found some writings about her and Jose Greco somewhere. I have some photos of the show I did with a few other girls with his son Jose Greco II, if I can figure out how to get my scanner back up and running, I'll do a quick little blog on it just so you can see them.
Love you much,
Elizabeth
This is dear and lovely. I love especially the grapes and aqua room. Delightful dear friend. Blessings and thanks for being you.
