Easter Parade

Everybody get in line

and join the bunny charade

and find your favorite hat to wear

and join the Easter Parade!

But first, let's bring down those old, vintage hat boxes

and see what magnificent styles await us...maybe you prefer to strut in line in a Victorian Haute Couture number with yards of lush and lovely velvet ribbons?

Moi, I would love to have at least one chance to don un chapeau à la Marie Antoinette

riddled with opulent plumes

dipped in delicious colors

and delicately and lovingly displayed like a perfect confection in a Paris candy shop window.

Marie's bold and brilliant style influences today's millinery world and maybe something like this would suit you

and if that shade of pink is a bit too garrish, maybe a lighter tint of pink would suit your Easter fancy.

However, I think no one other than Marie could pull off something that audacious, so I'll play it safe and pick out something a little more low-key chic that Audrey would wear

or one of her basic black classics.

So once you find your favorite Easter bonnet, hop on over like a little newborn chick and get in line

to do the Bunny Hop in style

and celebrate the love of family, the fun of friends and the JOY of promise of new life!

HAPPY EASTER!

JOYEUSES PÂQUES!

VROLIJK PASEN!

FROHE OSTERN!

BUONA PASQUA!

PRIECIGAS LIELDIENAS

BOA PASCOA!

FELIZ PÁSCOA!

FELICES PASCUAS!

Good morning! You are up early!
Am I the first one to attend the Easter Parade!!! The Bunny Hop was divine!!! :)wow, that table setting was gorgeous too! My little one is sick, she missed her 8th day of school, I called in, and later, the VP at the school calls me yesterday about it- are u kidding me? 8 days!! not 18!! It's April! She's in 1st grade! And her ear is hurting now so I'm taking her to the DR. and she will probably be home again! Oh my, 5 am and I'm already moaning, this is gonna be a great day! lol xOxO

I fear my hats are a bit warn and tattered. Not much call to wear them anymore. I'll just stand and applaud as you all stroll in the Easter Parade. (BTW one of my favorite movies is Easter Parade!) Wishing you a grand day! Cathy

I LOVE Bunnies .... and yours are cute as can be ! But - the pictures from seductive hats came just in moment for me - "as if ordered": I was discussing "HAT" as a theme for my wedding outfit just now. Still pondering if rather vintage 40-50s style, tilt topper or such - or a "new" hat or headpiece. Soo many choices. Yours are inspirational though pink is not really becoming my complexion ;-) Happy Hoppy Easter! kind regards , Martina

Those hats are a knockout... but you must have that hair to support them... Thanks for the Easter parade and the bonnets! So much chic in one place.

Good Morning Anita Sweetie...
I adore this post. So precious. I want to join the Bunny Hop. Oh what a fun time hopping and hopping. I have brought my pink hat ofcourse, a lady would never leave home without it on Easter morn. These bunnies are just wonderful teachers.

I love the hat boxes. They are exquisite. I also love the hats, and I think I would like one of each please. The first one sure does look heavy doesn't it? I am sure it is of the lightest fabric and the chartreuse color is exquisite, looks good enough to eat. Candy delicious.

Thank you for sharing this morning sweetie. Have a beautiful Thursday. Country hugs and much, much love, Sherry

Good Morning Anita...What a cute post! Love some of those huge pink bonnets! Whew! I can remember one particular Easter hat that I had as a child. Luckily I have a photo of that hat with me in it still! Awwwww...memories...Thank you Anita for always visiting me and leaving such encouraging comments. I am very frustrated with myself because I can never think of things to post about that would interest anyone. We are getting ready to do our redo of our kitchen island so I guess that will be something. Have a wonderful Easter holiday!~Hugs, Patti

Bonsoir ma chère copine,
What a delight to be on the first Easter Parade of my entire life. I love wearing hats, so I will choose the prettiest one in soft colors to attend your lovely parade and the sweet bunnies hopping. I would buy a dozen hats if they were in those lovely boxes.
As always I love your exquisite style Anita.

Bonjour Sweet Anita,
I adore this post! You are most creative and fun. I remember doing the bunny hop as a little girl =) Each year my grandmother bought me a new Easter bonnet... I had forgotten those fond memories. How I loved dressing up for Easter and going to church.
The hat boxes and hats are fabulous! I, too, would pick one Audrey style.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter. This afternoon my Dr told me I have Burstitis. I suppose it's from carrying all of my many supplies to class. Looks like I won't be out hopping around for a couple of weeks ;)

I'm laughing, thinking of my mom today and you saw my post on the poodle and I stuck a blue bonnet on her. My mom was Canadian as you know and most Canadian women in her time wore a hat. She would always say she couldn't wear a hat of any kind, especially in the Easter parade because her noggin was too big. I'm off to Nowhere to see what's happening over yonder. Home from work late...all tired out but hitting my favorite blogs tonight and of course, you were first to come to mind. Happy Easter back to you Anita and Ruben. May the year be filled with hope and freshness in all that you do.

I bid bon jour to your darling bunny. I love her hat. :) Isn't that pearlized paper just decadent? Wishing you and yours a very blessed holiday weekend.

May you have a lovely Easter...I don't think I've worn a bonnet since I was a wee one. But I do still have my childhood Easter outfit. I think I will pull it out now and take some pics to post on my blog. ox~ Fairmaiden

G'morn, Anita ~ What a lovely Easter parade.

Oh, the memories this write brings back ... the gorgeous millinery show every year ... so proper with gloves & jewels ... a hanky tucked in, new shoes. I remember the ooooh's & ahhhh's as the ladies came to church dressed, the buzzing about each lady.

We about drove Mother nuts with the bunny hop ... hop ... hop!

In some ways I love the relaxed dress of society now, but sure miss the beauty of dressing up at church ... I can't get into the sloppy shorts, less than covering tops & shirts w/sleeves torn out & flip flops prancing into church.

Sooooo, TY for bringing back wonderful moments in time to enjoy.

May your Easter be showered with blessings to carry throughout the year.

Happy Easter!
Have a beautiful weekend.
