This unquenchable thirst of mine
has finally found its sunset
that CALLS OUT from afar
then sail away
towards a bottomless well
But I cry
"I have no craft capable enough to take me
"I have no craft capable enough to take me
the distance."
"It's not a vessel that you need to get you to
PLEASURE'S EDGE
but the
NERVE
to take the first step
PLEASURE'S EDGE
but the
NERVE
to take the first step
walk in
and
SWIM."
But
"I DON'T KNOW HOW.
I'LL DROWN."
I BArgain and insist and beg,
"CAN'T I JUST
fly there
DRIFT SLOWLY
the safest way
I KNOW HOW
on the
WIngs of my DReaMS?"
"Your FANCY has brought you to the shore of your
IMAGINATION
but
MUSCLE
is necessary now because
in order to reach destinations
UNIMAGINABLE."
The CRASHING WAVES of
difficulty resound that I am
UNABLE.
while a still voice on distant shores whispers
"God does not call the able.
HE ENABLES THE CALLED."
-unknown.
COME...
there is
a feast of rejoicing waiting for
you.

Dear Anita
This is just the thing I need to hear from time to time, and now is such a time. It is a ray of encouragement and hope in the midst of the dank and dreary news events that reach my eyes and ears everyday. Oh that everyone could see the world as you do, my love.
Thank you for your sweetness.

I don't know which photo I'd love to live in the most, but, I know it's between Cinderella losing her slipper and the chalkboard talking about courage.
All these pictures are the kinds that you wish were your reality--like for every tear their goes that pink sofa (driftly slowly). Thanks for sharing :-)
Oh Anita,
Your posts take me to a different world...a world of sweetness, innocence, quietness, and kindness. Thank you for instilling in our hearts what is so beautiful in the world.
~Sheri at Red Rose Alley
So, friend, where do I begin? I miss you. I have been trapped by bugs and know that I would be here if I could get here more often. I am sending all the joy and blessings I have and I know you know my heart is with you, though, I can't always tell you. I am here and will be. Thanks for understanding and for the patience. Blessings, Amy
Dear Anita, as your lovely Ruben said these words help heal a sad time, the pictures so express the words. Ida xx
Hi Anita!
picture this:
....my Husband asks me if I will play my guitar and sing for church tomorrow...even though I LOVE to play and sing praises (at home)...I shutter every time.....every time.....
I should go up and play....I quietly bicker my case with the Lord....I "him and haw"... I whine of how shy I am......and unworthy of such a task....I look for a distraction...I go to the computer......I find Castles Crowns and Cottages......
.............."HE ENABLES THE CALLED." ....sigh.... Thank You....Love Linnie
It's like a weekly fix, love the images, the words and the music, thanks for taking the time to inspire people with your blog, have a fantastic weekend x.
Dearest Anita

Such a refreshing post Anita, so many wonderful pix and a great message. Love the quote at the end. So true! We've got to have trust and be daring in following our dreams. You certainly are dear, and that's what i love about you! More rain today? here, it was a mix, at least some rays of sunshine came through. Just watched the film "the tree of life" with Brad Pitt in the cinema with Andreas, my hubby. Have you seen it? It's an unusual film with much to see and think about. Hope your weekend is lovely, sunny greetings and hugs! xx
Hi! I sent the email ;-)Have a wonderful day.
Well I have to say in all this sea beauty, the most beautiful to me is the photo image of your own dreamy hideaway of your settee above the post! Oh how I wish i could come have tea with you there...and dream of the sea together. It has been far to long since my toes have touched the sandy shores but I will find myself there in two weeks with my beloved for our 23rd wedding anniversary. ox amore` Kerrie

Good afternoon dear Anita! Thank you so much for visiting me this weekend. It is such a nice here today as well, we had some storms this morning but nothing too bad. I am so glad that there was no damage to you window. I am painting my son's room today and the paint can slipped from my hands. BUT it cleaned up nicely so no worries. :)
Your header is just gorgeous my dear and I love your post as always, so inspiring and so beautiful. Your images make me dream of a far away land to escape to. :) I love your settee as well, such a wonderful place to rest.
Enjoy your weekend my friend.
Much love to you!

Dear Anita,
You have people who are very creative with their hands. There are people who can think creatively and create the most beautiful things. But there are also people who are creative with words. You have these three gifts and I'm grateful that you share them with us!!!
I always look forword to your new enchanting post!
Hugs,
Liliane
Oh how precious is dear Linnie! See...we need each other...and the words that God gives us, help..affirm..encourage..calm..enlighten not just the writer but the reader. Once again, thank you for putting the pen to paper..( or fingers to computer keyboard;) and writing down what He lays on your heart...and for being still enough to listen.
And oh, how I love your updated side bar pictures of your gorgeous studio..and absolutely beautiful summer projects!
You are divine inspiration, dearest Anita!
Bisous,
Christie
Dear Anita,
Your beautiful post could not have arrived at a better time. I realise your message is figurative of course. However on Monday I am embarking on a rather long journey with my three children, the youngest of which is barely 18 months. My husband, who is a huge support usually, cannot travel with us for work reasons. I am not very courageous when it comes to travelling with children even though I adore going the distance alone. Reading your words has given me the courage to travel WITH A SMILE because I will not be alone: my children will be there to accompany me.
It is all about seeing things from a different slant.
I am smiling and, the more I see your work, the more I fall in love with blue and green.
Thank you Anita.
How happy are my eyes and my heart.
Such beauty!
Hi Anita Sweetie...
I love this post. Thank you for taking me along via sailboats, balloons and the oceans waves. I so enjoyed myself.
I was so shocked when you started with green. NO teal I said, is dear Anita okay? I loved this one, green and fuschia and teal, even a beautiful darker blue. Oh my gosh, did you ever find your inner soul in this post. I LOVE it sweetie.
Thank you for letting me dream along with you this evening. I so enjoyed Castles Crowns and Cottages this evening. A delightful share and a FUN post. YOU ROCK.
Have a glorious weekend sweetie. Please say hello to Ruben. Many hugs and much love from Phoenix, Sherry
Very inspiring this post! Beautiful images and beautiful words. Marion
Dearest Anita
Oh my goodness! Breathtaking! It is so true we cannot cross the ocean unless we have the courage to let go of the safety of the shore ..... to plunge into the deep water and see where it will take us. It can be calm and peaceful or it can be stormy and grey. It is how we deal with the weather of life ...... that shapes our character. You are incredible! Your ability to reach deep and give us such beautiful imagery and words is amazing! Thank-you! I have been so busy as the boys have been home but I am so glad I had these beautiful words to read this afternoon as I miss them already!
best wishes and hugs to you my dear friend
Frances xx
Oh this is beautiful, Anita. You must have the purest soul. Reading your post is like being in a lovely dream.

Hi Anita,
I find myself linger a while on every photo, drink in each word, close my eyes, still seeing the image and the words and then digest. It's a satisfying meal my dear!
The colours are tranquil and warm, pure poetry in image and word!

Im venturing into unchartered waters which start with sadness so I hope the water can take me to a better place. Fiona
Good morning Anita! Every time I stop here, another photo really captures my attention. Today, it's the beautiful ocean with the aqua hues -
Thank for the thoughtful Comment on faith. As it is written in Proverbs, "Iron sharpens iron, so one sharpens and encourages another."
Thank you for being an encouager to me and to all who visit here. You are a treasure!
Happy Sunday to you!

Dear Antia,

I would love if you could email me at my new email. It is asperryfaldet@gmail.com. Thanks, friend, Thanks. Love your addition!!!!

Oh how lovely is this post? Pure eye candy to start my busy day. Now is that first image your home???? Oh I am in LOVE with it...such beauty! Just how I imaged your home to be. I have sooooo much work a head of me to get my home just like I want. I have lots of plans....painting...changing lights...maybe wallpapering a few walls...but the bones are lovely...big fat crown mouldings...lots of lovely hardwood...a kitchen that is a dream.
Another busy day for me....pray my back holds out this week my friend...sooooo much to do.
Have a great day...sending you oodles of love. xoxoxoox Thinking of you even if I do not visit...as this week will be CRAZY! But I will try.
Friday was such a boo hoo day and I found myself in the book store...escaping. I came across a chapter in a book my Dr. Phil. I am not a big fan of his but somehow my journey ended up there (no, he didn't call me!) and the words popped off the page as though he was talking to me....
Jacqueline, one day you will wake up and find that you have been living the untold truth of who you are under it all. Find your authentic self...in other words, push off from the shore and sail into the ocean. I've had two days of going deep and I'm going deeper into that pink ocean...sailing away on those wooden sailboats, all the colors of a rainbow and more are ahead of me.
So the million and seven dollar question is who am I? Other's may know, I called some of the "others" up and they said...
Gnomes, Fantasy, whimiscal adventures...Life is changing for the good. I do believe I need to stay in my childhood and show the world who I really really am...I'm not sure what Dr. Phil would think of that but I know Anita will accept me just as I am.
Inspiration in living color is found here on your blog. It gives me a push and a hug and allows me to set sail with dreams ahead of me, and Anita right beside me.
Love you...more than you can imagine.
These are words we always need to be reminded of... over and over and over. Fresh paths in our lives are obstructed by so much thorny brush of our own creation. Bring on the machete! If you don't try, you can never find the open waters. We build our own walls. Thanks, Lovely Anita.
Hello dear Anita
Happy Sunday, your home sparkles as ever before and you too my dear.

Liefs en een fijne sprankelende zondag !

Dearest Anita, thanks for your lovely visit, i hope your sunday is as lovely as these pix in your post! I'd love to see "Midnight in Paris" - but it hasn't started here yet. Yesterday i saw the posters up though, so soon it'l be time! Such a great set of actors, i can't wait. Today i have a cozy stay at home day, and did, apart from an hour in te fitness, nothing but eat and lounge - so nice, in spite of the cold and lousy weather! Love to you and Ruben in your gorgeous cottage, xx
As always, a post filled of emotion and beautiful words....... wonderful Anita.
I hope that you are spending a great summer weekend.
Muchos besos desde Asturias, donde estoy pasando el verano.

Have a PRETTY day!
Kristin
WOW, Anita! This post is sooo good. I love the encouragement in this post. That we must have the courage to take steps, even though it may not be easy. Oh how I wish we could fly or drift slowly on. But that wouldn't be any good for us, would it? We must exercise our craft and get stronger and better at it. And thank you for that reminder! And that quote that God "enables the called" is amazing!
Oh there is so much encouragement here. Once again, I feel as though I am not creating enough or fast enough for my liking. I must learn that it all takes time!
I hope you had a blessed weekend and are ready for the new week full of new inspiration!
Have a wonderful Monday! Lots of love to you! xoxo

Hi Dear Anita
Well this post definitely speaks to me this week.. I decided out of the blue [sort of] to go to Europe and lose sight of the shore.. it took me a long time to work up the courage.. but when i did i just went for it,, I;ll be in Paris next week!!
as always gorgeous images and inspiration today.. sorry I took so long to visit this week but only decided to plan the trip in last few days so my head is in a spin,. I'll be escaping the cold winter here and heading north!!!
Have a wonderful week and thanks for popping over .. even when i am a slacker!!! ciao xxxx Julie
So beautiful Anita,
Your post always speak the mood that i'm in each time i visit. We've had visitors and Uncle Sam sent the hubby off to war again yesterday. So, it has been a somber mood around here for days knowing that he would be leaving. Thus, no motivation to blog etc. However, i hope to return with a renewed and soothed spirit soon. This post is definitely putting me on that path... Besitos. XX
Your blog is the highlight of my day! I said this before in another comment, the images and the words are a feast for the senses and they give one pause to ponder. Thank you for making the world a more beautiful place with your art of words!
I am always amazed by the many gorgeous photos you find and how they inspire your words. I have been gone too much lately and have missed you. Hoping you're enjoying a sweet summer as one of it's too few months soon comes to a close.

But now, thunderstorm approaching! Let's enjoy every ray of sun dear, so we can appreciate the rain as well!

Dear Anita,
Thank you so much for visiting me today and to hear your kind words.
So pleased to hear that you have got some help with your back.
Exercise is a wonderful thing, and when I had lower back problems ( after our children were born) helped to strengthen and get me feeling well again.
We have not replaced Heidi, maybe one day we will, but for now we will remember the happy memories we
had with her.
Hope that you are enjoying your holidays and summer, dear friend
Hugs
Carolyn
I do want to go over next spring, for sure. A cruise on the Rhine methinks. Still, before I go some of those wonderfully refreshing drinks to survive the summer heat. :)

Good morning dear friend!! I hope you are well this morning. It is rainy and stormy here today and very humid, no fun to be outside. I feel as if summer is slipping away. Thank you so much for visiting me this morning. I really wish that we all lived closer, that would be so much fun. I never thought of Skype, I should see if our camera is working. Meeting blogging friends is just amazing, it feels like you have found your long lost friends. :)
Enjoy your day and I hope it is a beautiful one.
Much love!!

Morning sweet friend...just popping over for a minute to say hi and doing a happy dance for you today...so glad everything worked out at the Chiropractor! I think I need one today....my poor back is not doing so well with all this moving and cleaning.
Off to the old home today to tidy it up and get it sparkling for the new owners...off I go!

Hi Sweet Anita,
I so thought of you yesterday as I was reading a devotional from Joel & Victoria Osteen. It was titled: "When You're in Deep." In fact, I was going to email it to you, but I couldn't find your contact info. Anyway...the devotional spoke about how "We are supposed to go out into the deep things God has for us. But...when you're out in the deep waters, you can't touch the ground. You can't see the shoreline, at times..." Then they went on to say that "the scripture tells us that deep calls to deep....God is the one who has called you to the deep waters. He is with you, and He knows there are deep things on the inside of you." (There was more to it, but I thought it was SO good!) Psalm 107:24
I hope you're having a lovely day, my dear. It's sunny here. Another day...another gift! Enjoy!
xoxo

I remember a lot of "first steps" in my life and they're not over yet. Each day brings another step. Courage and faith will get us through.
Hi Anita,
I just sent you an email. And, I think you should continue to stay on this theme and do these same kind of posts. :)

Hello Anita! I hope this week is treating you well! How is your back? I am sorry to hear that you were in pain!
Those things always make it near impossible to work on art or writing I am sure. I hope you are getting the rest that you need.
Every time I try to work on art this week, I get stuck. Maybe my mind is telling me I need a break? But, it feels far too long to go a week without creating, doesn't it?!
Well, the weekend is almost upon us. I hope you have a wonderful one!
XOXO

I just had to stop by real quick and say thank you so much for your wonderful words! That is encouraging to hear and I appreciate it!
I am SO happy to hear that you are all better now! And that you had time to read and fill yourself up with inspiration!
xoxo
"God does not call the able. He enables the called..." I love that!! I'll bet you've been wanting to include that saying for months and finally found the place! Perfect! Thanks for this "summer holiday" on your page!
Blessings!
Ann
Hi Anita ~
Thanks so much for your visit!
Oh well...it IS warm and humid again.
I think we're getting some storms too.
Tomorrow, {Friday} I leave with my sister to visit our father. He is only a couple of hours away. We have the most fun!
Our traditional stop at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee.
Lots of sister talk.
and 3 days of making our Dad yummy food and enjoying each other's company until late!
I hope all is well with you. Are you working on another book? I really enjoyed your story about Balzac :o)
*happy weekend to you, Anita*

Dear Anita,
Don't be afraid to take a break - after working all year you need one! Even from something you love like writing. And don't worry - your followers will remain! You have something very special here! Next week will be soon enough for another posting! I love revisiting your posts even and I'm sure others feel the same way!
Blessings for a happy week!

Oh Anita how I enjoy visiting your blog. I started just looking at the photos then caught part of a note and started all over agian. Your words along with the perfect pick of pictures just made me slip away and reflect. This was a wonderful distraction from work. Thank you for entering my mind and heart and letting me see the beauty in things. Grace xoox
Always gorgeous and inspiring! Sorry I'm late arriving. ~ Sarah
Oh my, I think you captured growing older and less able or fear of risks even if you didn't intend to do so.As Paul and I grow older together we need to fight this too - tendency to back away from spontaneous risk taking fun.You know, like leaving home without making reservations, nothing big HEHE.
Hi Anita
This post is so inspiring, and that saying is so true. You just have to go with your inner voice sometimes and believe in it.
Best Wishes Jan xxx

You have to be so tired of me ewwwing (however that's spelled) and ahhhing over all your words and pictures. You've inspired me to create just the right gift for my neice who is young and has a difficult life. I've been trying to come up with a birthday gift and some encouragement for her.
