Hallelujah

To S. K.

You sit alone

 when you read of

 life-lessons,

whose impact is not found in

the final chapter

but rather whose

cloak of light

via

is revealed in

the broken song

of a child's life.

via

And when it's your job

to dance along

with the uneven rhythms

of a troubled heart,

a teacher comes to the point

where she thinks of herself:

pinterest

But then one day

the artist in you

strikes gold

via

 when you dip your paintbrush

via

of love

to restore the colors of

childhood.

via

You end up sitting

side by side

via

turning the pages of

your lives

together

in order to remember to

Your dance partner comes away

learning

via
and you continue the dance

ViCtoriously

and you sing

Hallelujah

HOw do you find those photos Anita??

So much of life is about choices.

There is a split in the road. You can go one way –– the way that looks clear or the other way that is not –– or you can turn and go back the way you came.

I think 90% just turn back because it is familiar. I cheer for the mystery option. It is that mystery that propels us forward.

Miracles only happen when you take chances. Here's to the courage to do it!!!

Hello Anita:
We always thought that 'education' was wisely derived from the Latin 'educare', to lead out since the best teachers surely do that. Lead where necessary and bring out the very best from their students. And, oh, what joy when the message is understood, the lesson learned and the student feels able to sit alongside the teacher and be as partners in the whole process.

How beautifully you present that 'Hallelujah moment'!!!

Dearest...you will have forever ups and downs in the incredibly difficult profession in which you have put your energy, your love, your heart and soul, your creativity. Someday, when this chapter of your life is meant to come to a close, you will know it in every fiber of your being. Until then, you, precious, are where you need to be ...and where those sweet children need you to be.
This post is proof that you, as well, have been reminded ...restoring your passion.

I loved this teaching post Anita! My mom directed me over here today, and I'm so glad she did. Like she told you, I'm working on my Ph.D. and half way through my sixth year of teaching at Loyola Marymount University. My ultimate goal is to become a full professor, but the road is a long one. I absolutely love teaching, although it can be overwhelming at times. It's so nice to see such a beautiful post that truly captures what it means to be a teacher. I have a coffee mug that my mom got as a gift for me that I love to use in the mornings before I go to class. It says: "Teacher, As you foster the development of each one's unique talents, you make a contribution to our world. Thank you." Thank YOU, Anita, for your contribution.

I have told you at least a million times that your work and the people you touch is magical, not only for your students but for all of us that tune in here to be inspired, to be uplifited, to learn and to see heartache and love written on the screen. You my dear are in inspiration, a weaver of magical lands and words, and of hope, love and the power of both!

Anita dearest: I am so glad I had people in my life that never gave up on me, but more than that, I am glad I never gave up on myself. For years, it seemed I had. Life had no sparkle, and it also seemed as if it had no purpose.
It took a lot of courage and a lot of love from those around me to get myself to make difficult decisions for change. I couldn't remain the tight bud any longer, though I knew the changes would be difficult.
Oh my dear, your words are sublime.
Receive a big hug from me. You create poetry that lifts the spirits and reminds me how wonderful life can be.

And it sounds like you've gone through one of those "broken songs" of a child's life recently. But it seems you have brought that song back "into harmony" as Ruben puts it, and that is a blessing. [ I had one of those "children" to breakfast this morning. She is now 25 and thriving.] They are blessed to have you as a teacher.
Have a restful night and a peaceful Sunday,
love, dawne

Wow...you touched my heart with this one...
Children are resilient yet fragile...
I think all hearts are that way...
We all have to find out who we are and the depth of a person is sometimes strengthened by trials when we are children. Not all children withstand the trials though, and they break easily. But the pieces are put back together, somehow, someway, when someone like you helps a child back onto the path...not unlike the yellow brick road Dorothy had to follow...not really knowing the way...and facing extreme difficulties...yet knowing somehow all things would work out and home would be found, the true 'self' would be discovered and like a bird on the wing, the child soars in their new found discovery of self...the self that can do anything with the help of a loving heart to teach them...like yours.
Smiles to you on this day for helping one little soul 'hang on for dear life'. I think I saw this saying one time 'Life is precious, handle with prayer.'
Also, you could substitute or add 'care' and 'friendship' and 'love'.
Thank you for the reminder to cherish those moments when a child needs attention, even when it is a small, insignificant thing.
Another saying in the 1970's was
'It's the little things in life that count.'
Thank you for caring...
love, and hugs

Good Sunday morning dearest one, I just had a look at the most perfect post, in pictures and words, to join my early-Sunday-morning cup of tea. My children are drawing in front of me at the table while I catch up with my favorite blog friends who are inspiring and uplifting each and every time I visit. You are on top of my list.
Do have a restful and calm Sunday, Anita, I hope Mrs. Autumn sun will come out to play. I am in the garden planting my bulbs (^.^)

Thank you for visiting me :-) So glad you enjoy the flower and the music. I've been doing entries with Dutch flowers and Portuguese music :-) I like to join my two countries ;-)
We have been busy too, painting and changing the decoration of the living room. This house has already 7 years, we live here almost 2, so it is time to paint.

you can revise and add.
i must go get ready for church but I will stop by again later on. Love you!!!yes!!

a new and perfect header for the season and Jeff Buckley! you are spoiling us!! Anita, my dear magical friend.. there is so much here to make the heart flutter and the imagination fly. you yourself i think have the most beautiful iridescent jewelled butterfly coloured wings, sometimes soft as doves wings glittering with silver sparkles. i can also imagine silver sparkles encircling your crown that looks as if made of glass or even diamond! but light as a feather.
today more than ever i have needed to to fly here and pull the blanket of enchantment around my shoulders. i have been crying my heart out over hazel honeykins whom i miss so very much. i am though relieved that he suffers no more and is with the loving angels that greet such sweet souls when they arrive over the rainbow bridge. we will always remember his dear presence.
bless you for your kind words that have meant so much to me these past days and bless you for having this space in blogland that restores the spirit so and lifts the heart, however heavy it is feeling. you are a healer, a poet, an artist, a fairy, an angel.

thank you xxx

Dearest Anita,

Your friend has been so absent. I've been working of course and adjusting back to full-time work. I must admit, my poor dogs feel the loss of my presence too. They think that they are living with Old Mum Hubbard instead of Jacqueline, the cupboards have been bare. Len is cooking dinner each night and I come home to a homecooked meal made by him. Good thing he works in a grocery store or we'd be eating dog food crumbs!

It has taken a good deal of adjustment to incorporate my new work schedule. I work from 10 to 7pm so mornings seem to be the only time I can get anything done. I was blessed with two days off with Len however and my evenings free. I love what I'm doing and I'm content. It's like play all day building store displays, pricing and selling thrift treasures.

I know you are over the top busy too with the little ones and Ruben back to work. My email is the same, it's Matthew1039amen@yahoo.com.

I love you and I'm with you.

dearest Anita
i cannot thank you enough for your kind and comforting words over the loss of dear Hazel Honekins.
sadly, our family are once again desperately in need of prayers. my lovely niece Amy Ray-of-sunshine has just been rushed to hospital with suspected meningitis. we are beside ourselves with worry. i have not posted about this, as it is just too scary. my sister (her mother) once had this illness though and recovered well (she was battling cancer at the time too!). i think Amy has her fighting spirit and hope and pray she will pull through.
i have posted a little fairy post as it is something Amy will enjoy.
gosh, i hope you don't mind me coming here with my woes. we seem to be having quite a few of them at the moment. i have a lot of faith/hope in my heart though, that things will be brighter soon.
i am going to browse your lovely posts again, they are so delightful, so soothing and beautiful and make one smile, whatever their circumstances.

bless you, Anita xxx

my dear friend
your words and prayers are such a comfort
it has been confirmed that Amy has the more serious form of meningitis, but she is in good hands and a good hospital also. my sister is with her. i feel so helpless being here on the other side of the country and tearful. it it such a thing for my lovely niece to go through.
she has the most beautiful, gentle nature and red gold hair like a fairy princess. she is the eldest of my sister's children and is adored by her younger siblings and pets because she is so sweet and caring.
i am not sure that i shall sleep tonight.
thankfully i have my faithful peace lily here at my side. such a kind dog.
i visited George the Lad's blog today and read Tess's post, i think she is wonderful!
i am going to make myself a soothing lemon verbena tea, i just love the fragrance. wish you were here so that i could pour you a cup.

My dear heart, may I sing 'Hallelujah' right beside ya???

We don't always see those chords we strum become life's music. Every now and then we get to see that flower blossom right before our eyes and miracles happen.

A good teacher feels her students pain and sometimes cares too much. She can be frustrated when she doesn't see the seed germinate before her but know sweetie, those seeds ya sow will grow in Gods time.

I can't tell ya the students that I truly though I'd lost and failed them who have told me what a difference I made in their life.

Both at school and in Church.

God bless ya dear friend and may you witness your gardens!!! :o)
