Lovely Anita... I own a St Bernard... when I tell you that she comes alive in the snow I do not exaggerate. Feeling her joy is one of my favorite things. She bounces in the snow and her love of it is infectious. The world seems new and clean and filled with light.

Oh gracious, I'm going to have to put a box of tissue next to the computer. Your posts keep making my eyes spill.

I think the most precious thing about the holidays is gathering with people we love. This post reminds me of the lights I leave on waiting for my parents to arrive and my two anxious children staring out at the lamp-lit street watching for the first sign of their lights. They also love to watch the snow fall in the lamplight. Their beautiful faces, the glow of the lights, the gentle snow, and the long, dark evenings culminated into a single, moving thought when I read your post.

Your post and music are so very moving. Beautifully, done!

Dearest Anita,
This may be one of my favorite of your posts. The pictures, it goes without saying, are MAGIC (and maybe even a little silly = one Panda giving another the alley-oop, LOL). But your poetry is marvelous. Oh how I sometimes need that gentle "Snow" to shut out the "white noise of daily life", and illumine that path of the here and the not yet.
Thank you, thank you.

Oh Anita,
This is a prayer of beauty that I must have written out to pray along with you...

and, Oh those white horses!!!

And is that an Irish Setter running in the snow? My friend Annie has one, oh that red hair!!!

I was reading the poem (turned Christmas hymn) by Christina Rossetti,

"In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold him,
nor earth sustain;
Heav'n and earth shall flee away when he comes to reign

In the bleak midwinter,
a stable-place sufficed
The Lord God incarnate,
Jesus Christ..."
---

Oh the hallelujahs that rang out from the angels that night as they proclaimed his birth!

Silent night, Holy night.

thank you for this taste of heaven.

My husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary on Solstice night. Can you imagine how wonderful it is to have that special day and to know that more treasures are to come as Christmas is just round the corner?

How are your magnificent paper theatres coming along? Do you have a little time for creation during this busy period of the year?

I love how you find the perfect picture to go with you beautiful words. Makes the whole reading experience for us just that much more magical.

I loved this. You have stired many thoughts within me, they are like a pinball machine.

For ME, I associated this very much with the Gift of the Birth of our Savior.
I loved the line "waited with every breath, for When You Come"

(I'd check the exact words, but I am on my son's computer and it doesn't allow me to go back and forth without loosing what I just said)

Also... I love to think that ALL of us here , are on this earth for a sacred interlude. To bring Joy, Fun, Light to those we come in contact with.

anyway, like I said, A pinball machine of thoughts.
Beautiful Anita. You have talent aplenty.
merry Christmas.
Big hug.

That was so fun to read about your Dad playing the piano and organ. Small world when you think of all of the connections and things we have in common!

I love how your parents made it such a sweet occasion each month where your Mom put out a spread and you were there to help. Sweet memories, I am sure for you!

Have a great day! Whoo Hoo! Vacation time SOON for you!

Dear Anita, I hope you and Ruben have a wonderful Christmas. I think of you two often! I am sorry I have been out of touch but these last few months have really been about taking care of my dog who has since passed away. I finally did manage to do a post on Sadie and I hope to come out of this funk to start a brand new year.

Hello dearest Anita
I think Violet with Create Beauty summed your post all up with the poem by Christina Rosetti...my! Especially the part about how Heaven and Earth cannot contain our God. Wow! That phrase is what you were conveying here in your prose. When He Comes! Amazing.
When I walk outside my back door and walk on the grass and feel it beneath my feet...and when my fruit trees are bearing fruit and I can reach out and pull it off the tree...it fits perfectly in my hand...all nature is perfectly made to the proper scale. Bugs are the right size not ten feet tall! We have just the right amount of sunshine, the right amount of oxygen to sustain life. Everything has been provided us by our dear loving God. How can people not see God in His Creation! The heavens declare the glory of God, and his handiwork shows forth his knowledge...there is no voice or language where it cannot be understood. What is so obvious to those who love God, and it is available for anyone to BELIEVE! Just believe...that is all that is required of us. God has made it so simple.
Thank you dearest for coming to my blog to read about LOTR and Harry Potter....both books of such power against evil. Oh, and I am writing and editing my novel. Wish me luck!
May you have a very blessed Holiday!
Teresa
