We come so close
to touching
and capturing
the Divine.
When I hear a piece of music that for a brief but sacred moment, lifts me away beyond this earth
when I see a master technician and artist perform (please take the time to see this)
or when I am surprised by the whimsical imagination of beloved friends
I say to myself
WE COME SO CLOSE.
But there is a GAP that keeps us in hopeful anticipation and in an anxious state of creativity that links us to the heavens, boldly reaching with all of our strength, ambition and perseverance
in order that we may have a glimpse
and chance
to grasp the unimaginable.
You are ALL so creative and successful in your endeavors
SO PLEASE, in spite of the fact that school will be starting soon and life will demand more of our attention, let's keep filling in that GAP
with the magic
and wonder of our dreams.
You are ALL so remarkable and precious....

Wonderful post…It invites to me to dream…
Happy and magical weekend.
Wow Anita. This is an astounding post. It is so true. There are times when our lives, our labors, our loves touch the divine. When I hear this song "May it Be," made famous as Enya's closing song from the film version of The Lord of the Rings; when I see some of the artistic photos and art in this post; but most of all when I read your beautiful and inspiring words in this post, I remember, and remember well, and thank God that we married. For on that day and ever since, I have been in touch with the divine.
I love you so much,
Ruben
Wonderful pictures and sweet words, Anita. Made me think and I just love to think.
Do enjoy your last days of Summer holiday to the max!
Wishing you a happy happy weekend et une bonne semaine xxx
Children are so over scheduled these days, I wonder when they find the time for magic. My friends were appalled by my kids lack of extra curricular activities when they were little, but I wanted us to enjoy eachother. When people asked me what they did, I said we play.
Love all the pictures in your 2nd Star To The Right contribution, thanks for sharing
Beautiful post and photos, mom is back to work soon to, she likes to dream, and I offen wonder what's going on behind them eyes of hers.
Me, well yes I dream, I twitch like mad, according to mom!!
That's a lovely comment from Ruben.
See Yea George xxx

My darling Anita,
Yes, we must always continue to dream and create and keep looking for the glimmer, that sparkle, that ray of light on which ideas travel!!
Thank you for your prayers! Marie's brother is showing some signs of improvement. We are praying it continues!! My dear friend Cindy came to see our new condo and spend a couple days and it was so refreshing. A renewal of the spirit!
I love your postings ma belle. They tell such lovely stories of beauty & peace.
My prayer for you is that your new school year will be a fabulous one and your bebes will be angels!!

Hi sweet one...another beauitful magaical post! I so agree...I am afraid once school rolls around my blogging life will suffer. So please forgive me a head of time if I do not visit as often.
It will be a crazy busy start to the school and I will be off the second week of school already for the Creative Connection Event hosted by WWC. I am soooo looking forward to this. I will keep you posted.
Congratulations on your contribution...can't wait to hear and see more.
Hugs for a great day. oxoxoxxo

Words that I will
ruminate over long
after reading your
captivating post,
Anita! You are right,
humans do reach, like
a sunflower does towards
the sun, to the divine,
through our creative
endeavors. Good luck
with the beginning of
school! I return to
our fair state tomorrow and
the ramping up of energy
and school-related endeavors
begins! We will have tea
soon and catch up. Enjoy
this lovely summer weekend ~
autumn doesn't have us in
her grasp, yet!!!
xx Suzanne
PS: Ruben is so eloquent...
such a sweetheart.
Pure magic!
The most important thing in our life is dreaming and this cannot be changed. Thanks so much for your wonderful thoughts that are like the most beautiful dream. :)
Oh Dearest...what an absolutely enchanting, magincal post!!! It is always such a pleasure to visit you that I wonder what you have in store for us next!!! A magical Sunday to you...and of course I could't sign off without a Cheers for the weekend...Dzintra♥x
I've had such a magical visit. Thank you for sharing the enchanted photo's and video of truly gifted people who know how to make that gap to dreams a wee bit smaller.
And many thanks for beings such a delightful participant in our Second Star Adventure.
I'm going to visiti this post again and again.
Tootles,
FawnDear
Anita, this is just so beautiful.
Your words, formed from your heart, create a connection that fills the gap and draws our minds and hearts closer to the Divine. Those images you found are amazing. The music is an added gloroius touch. And reading Rubens words of love, brings tears to my eyes, oh how he loves you!!! And that he realizes that since the day he married you he has been in touch with the divine ... what a dear man and life-partner you have there. I'd say he's a keeper : )
God Bless you dearest. Your creativity is a gift of the Divine.
You have a way of opening a window that allows a glimpse into the TREASURES that are hidden in Christ our Savior. Love you!
~ Violet
So beautiful, Anita!!!
I have been trying an experiment. My "studio" is my kitchen table, and the table is large enough to always have a creative project sitting there. I no longer set aside large chunks of time for creativity, because that is when the GAP grows larger - waiting for the perfect time. Instead, my eye catches the project on the table, I think "I have time to do the next step" and I work on it right then and there.
Creativity brings us joy. There should be a place for it in our lives - each and every day!
Thank you for sharing this inspiring post! It is always a joy to visit you!
Dearest Anita, I agree with Kelley...whenever I visit here, I fill that gap closing up. I adore the spirit of your posts and how they make me feel and long for more...more beauty...more calm...more of the divine. So thank you so much!!! I feel myself reaching for more today.
I loved reading the beautiful comment from your beloved...how blessed are you?!
As far as my blog design goes...
before they came out with the new designs, you had the option to choose a stretch version of the design I was already using. I chose that and then when I publish my pictures, I choose the extra-large picture option.
I am not sure if the stretch option is still there, but you might go in to design and see. Does this help? I really am very poor indeed at this blogging thing. I have never been what you would call techy.LOL
Thank you ddearest, for your sweet words that you left for me. I know that you will have so much fun with 16 girls in the class this year. And I know you will be such an inspiration to them in their lives. Bless you for that.
love to you...
Such a wistful, magical, beautiful post this is! We all need more time to dream and to play..thanks for the reminder. I personally intend to stay a kid at heart forever...:)
Music has a way of taking me away to a place of tasting heaven...and in those moments I know...though I have not seen HIM I know HIM...and there is a longing in my heart for more...I wait, I hope, I believe, and I anticipate eternity...where the words enchanting and magical will be full-filled.
Dreaming ... keeps the possibilities of the future open!! I watched the video .. unfortunately I was not able to understand it ... but the images speak loudly ... she had a dream and though in pain she kept going!!!
I remember my childhood in Europe and ballet lessons ... to move so gracefully - almost like walking on air ... it so beautiful to watch. I know its only August .. but I can't wait to see The Nut Cracker --- I try to go every Christmas... XO ..HHL
I will share with you one of my favorite things. A professor of mine said that the space between tic and toc is where genius lies. One side is too much, the other too little... the tension of the razors edge in between...that is art.... there is the divine!
You are so precious too Anita. I don't know what I'd do without you here in this magical, creative online world of ours! You have a way with words and yoru combination with beautiful images is a gift in itself girl! You always touch my heart and remind me to keep positive and to keep looking for the sparKle that's out there! It's there! I have to keep remembering that! love you! xoxo
BEAUTIFUL!!! We need dreams and some magic!! You have been to Tokyo dancing!? How very exciting! Like a dream! I have been dancing too, classical ballet ( modern and jazz also)! Loved it! I really hope to go to Tokyo some day! Wishing you a blessed and wonderful weekend! Kristin :)
Oh how dull our lives would be without the ability to dream and to imagine the possiblilites! And yet,
No eye has seen, no ear has heard no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him~
1 Cor.2:9! All of the beauty on earth will not compare to what is to come! JOY beyond measure! Thank you for sharing glimpses of heaven, my friend! Keep reminding us all school-year long!
Blessings!
Dear Anita
You are one of the most positive souls I know.. I believe this is why you bring magic, joy, laughter and promise to all who know you.. Congratulations on your contribution dear friend. What a surprise and honor is was to see my crowned stork among all these breathtaking images, thank you! I am touched. Beautiful words and images from a dear lady. Who, by the way, is loved so deeply by her husband. Ruben's comment touched my heart. Yes, I would also say he is a keeper! Thank you so much for the inspiring post...
Bisous, Penny
I am right there with you dearest...and what beautiful words from Rattus..xoxox T D
Ah not only your posts are divine, I tend to say that your comments are as well and of course one specific is. Yes, you guessed right, your husband is such a sweet guy! I wish I could dance like flying! I was always dancing as a girl, but somehow I do that not as often as I should anymore. Mmm I think I put it on my daily action list for starters. Thanks for the inspiration Anita. Have a wonderful weekend, bisous LiLi
Hi Anita,
You make me think and dream at the same time, thank you for this magic and wonderful world that you give us in each of your post,
Have a lovely sunday,
Cecilia
Thank you Anita,
She's PERFECT, probably the best:legs, feet, arms, musicality and a great intelligence to be able to work all this.....
Hugs,
Cecilia
It's hard at times to fill my gaps, but now I know where to find my gold dust and words to touch my heart. Thanks for the enchanting pictures and the clip of the beautiful dancer. Enjoy your weekend. susan
First, I LOVE what your dear hubby wrote. I see the love in his words for you Anita.
Second, the only gap that I will see is the one in-between my teeth lol oh wait I don't have a gap ahhh.
Ok let's be serious. I know school is starting soon, but this is the first year that moi will not be wondering if the boys get up in time, or catch the bus in time, or have their lunch. High school is DONE YEAH or me.
So Randy, Colt and Brittany start University, all at the same time, but Randy's 3rd year, Colt's first, and Brittany's 2nd. I know confusing.
Lovely post Anita as always.
Sending you love in this month of summerness. I know it's not a word.... it's a "me" word.
Love You
Love Me
xoxoxoxo
Oh dear one, you have magic in your pen and your pretty little head is overflowing with a plethora of amazing images ...such a perfect combination...oh this post makes us try and try again. Try until we doubt, whether we have any thing left to give...but we get up again, because it is our passion...it is why we rise in the morning...and what our dreams are made of each night as we sleep...it is our passion, it is our love...and every so often, we chance to glimpse, just a wee glimmer of that which is divine...and it is enough.
And what a beautiful magazine...I think they are sooo fortunate to have your talent grace the pages of this creative bit of loveliness.
I scampered over to a sweet little sale and had a wonderful morning before I stepped into the shop...
Hope you enjoy a relaxing Sunday with your dear Ruben...what a sweet man you are blessed with.
You my dear truly make me smile...and I thank you dearest for this...love Rosie
Dear Anita, I loved this post! So inspiring, so elequently written, and with such purpose. For me, the gap is tightened a bit each time I wonder at my grandchildrens faces. As a very young mother of five, when my children were small, I rarely had the time to just sit in awe of them. A raindrop on a leaf, how marvelous! A tiny hummingbird suspended in air, almost magically. A note from a friend, who may be thousands of miles away, and who I may have never met face to face, but still our hearts and minds connect, and the feeling is true. The smell of the sassafrass tree in my backyard. The package I received just today from my mother with a green and white palnt leaf wrapped in a wet paper towel, and placed in a plastic ziplock bag as to preserve its beauty, along with a real set of lunar moth wings she took the time to save and send. Reading a message from a friends husband, and knowing she is loved with everything he has, is just beautiful. All of these things, the small things, are what we will come to know and love, as the big things that mattered. Love and blessings to you sweet friend, and thank you for sharing your heart across the way...Christel
Oh, dearest!! This is a beautiful and inspiring post! Yes, it is most vital that we NEVER close the gap and never stop dreaming. I cannot imagine life without dreams!
Yes, it is important to take time for yourself and self-renewal.
How are the addition plans coming along? If I remember correctly, the date is set in September..??
I look forward to your contribution to Belle Inspiration! I'm certain it will be fabulous!!
Wishing you a beautiful Sunday filled with dreams and beauty.
xoxo, B
Dearest Divine Anita ... I think your lovely husband might just be right .. that you truly are a touch of the divine! How beautiful and a simply gorgeous post. It is so true that if we don't have our dreams that life is just a little ordinary... to dream is to forever think of magic and I always loved all the books and games I used to play as a little girl. My beautiful little princess who is 7 loves to dream and play make-believe and we play together as well and make up the most ridiculous fun stories. That is what life should be and I am so glad she has a wonderful imagination and loves to be outside playing in the sunshine looking for fairies. Anita you would love her because she is very whimsical but has a determination about her that will stand her in good stead.
I also know what you mean about music uplifting you to a place beyond ... I have many favourite pieces and some of them are Pachelbel Canon in D Major, Vivaldi The Four Seasons, Handel's Water Music, the soundtrack from "Dead Poet's Society" the soundtrack from "Master and Commander" especially Herbert Ypma's cello pieces (I adore the cello!) and lastly Boccherini's Minuet in D Minor which I am listening to now.... a tear almost rolling down my cheek at its sheer beauty.
Anita thank-you so much for all your beautiful comments on my blog .. they are truly cherished. One day we will meet and we will stroll around the garden and sip pink champagne and drink tea and have the most wonderful time!
I can't wait to see all the work for your renovations and it is such a shame they have put it back but that is always on the cards when building. Don't worry it will just make it all even better. Good luck with back to school .... you must be such an inspiration to all your students!
hugs and best wishes

Oh what a beautiful and elegant way to use a fan!!!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
How wonderful...yes, coming close is such a rush.
Dear ANita,
You have inspired us all to keep dreaming...may all you dreams come true! The video of Sylvie summed it up - keep going, no matter what!
Thank you for sharing!
Mimi
for some reason this morning ... your sidebar is making me hungry .... yummy yummy ... I have the hermes chocolate cookbook ... think I'll whip up something grand
Shame on me for taking a peek at Ruben's love note to you. He has it right...now I understand...We touch the tip of divine when Anita steps into our lives.
Blessed to know you...
Blessed to receive from you...
Blessed to call you friend...
Blessed to be loved by you...
Surprise, surprise - another piece of beauty here in castles, so well and thoughtfully put together! Yes, Anita, you keep the magic going, and you will, also when school starts. We all crave this - touching the divine from time to time and feel the greatness that is really ours. I love it in the London subway, when they say' "Mind the gap!" when the train arrives. A nice reminder to wake up to the real life. Enjoy the rest of the weekend dear!
Well said!!! I agree we need to keep working towards our creative endeavors even when life is so busy arround us!
Blessings,
Kim

This is the most beautiful post. I feel it is sooo true and peaceful... The music and images are like my dreams come to life. I am truly mesmerized. You are are an artist of the most lovely sort, the mood maker, the magic maker. I am sitting tired from fun last night and creating many lessons... teaching for me starts Tues. Yikes! Sending love and warm friendship. Blessings.
Anita, I love all the photos and the text you weave through it. I am looking forward to more info on the on-line magazine!

Once again, your beautiful 'Castles Crowns and Cottages' has brightened my day and taken my breath away.
This GAP that you talk about...
I am reminded of my favourite quote:
"The greatest joy, is the expectation thereof."
May there always be that GAP, as it in itself is the greatest joy.
Thankyou dear Anita, for sharing your thoughts with us in such an amazing way.
You took my breath away.
Oh dear Nita, I have missed you SO much this past week, but the Lord has brought me safely home and now here I am filling the (((Gaps)))!*grin*
Of course I had to watch the clip and have I ever told you that because I never danced the Don Quixote it seems that it was not right? For some reason this ballet spoke so strongly to me... I truly think it is the music.
Oh my dear, yes, thank you for your note. Of course you know my appreciation for your thoughts and the fact that you let them out , is just priceless to me.
I am anxious to know more about your publication....PLEASE tell me about it, you know well how much I admire you both artistcly and as a person.
Love you....T.
I can only think of one word to describe your blog "Beautiful"
Have a Great week !!
Hello my sweet,
How was this day...hoping it was a "Lazy Sunday", as you need to savor as much relaxation as possible...for once your enter your classroom, those wee little "sprites" are going to need every second of your time...and you my dear, will gladly give it.
Worked a few hours in the garden today. Finally planted up that sweet little fence...thinkin' it turned out fairly well...can't wait for it to get overgrown. Bill played with the pond, getting rid of plants that have gotten too big...ahhh...looks good again. I really do love to spend time in the backyard...I find the sound of water so very soothing.
Tomorrow will bring another trip to the BIG city...I have a few items on the grocery list to pick up...when I come home, I need to clean the house as it has taken a backseat, because of much time spent in the work shop.
So, have a productive day tomorrow, spending some quality time dreaming of your beautiful reno...goodnight my dear...xoxo...Rosie
How wonderfully touching! John Michael Talbot wrote the song "Master Musician" that came to mind as I read this. It is a wonderful song for reflection!!! Thank you and wishing you well! Cathy
Aren't you the sweetest dear Anita!!! Dinner was very easy...I went for a rehearsal all day for Cabaret for my little walk on part, I am absolutely loving this!!! Picked up a chicken on the way home along with coleslaw...can't get much easier than that...Hubby put some roast potatoes on when I arrived home and all done!!! Have a wonderful week...Dzintra♥x
Good Morning Anita....First I have to tell you what a most romantic husband that you have! He writes the most devoted comments to you! Really lovely! Your post is very magical, very ethereal!(Did I spell that right?) The music really makes it perfect! Have a truly wonderful week!~Hugs, Patti
THIS post is WHY I started my blog - I just didn't know it! Thank you so much for writing this. The pictures take me to another place - especially with Enya singing to me in the background.
Blessings!

Oh Anita I have never eaten roasted chestnuts...it's not something we eat a lot over here...but it sounds divine with your roasted potatoes!!! Enjoy the coming of Autumn...my second favourtie season...Dzintra♥x
So beautiful, Anita! I pray and meditate daily to be closer to my higher power, I feel that increases my creativity, it makes me feel centered, intuitive, and open to people and thoughts that inspire me! Lovely post!
Good morning my dear friend...
WOW...could it actually be the 24th of August...oh how I don't want this season to end. It took sooo long to arrive...the cold hung on forever...and now I must say goodbye again to this warm sun. I sat outside for a bit while Bill planted a white Hydrangea that was left unplanted because I really didn't know where her home should be. I walked out side and basked in the warmth while he gave it a lovely home.
Spent this afternoon finding a new company to do the store upholstery...this is truly one of my favorite parts of the business, but I find it just too taxing now. I know I am only 46, but,I have a disease called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I always feel old in the fall...my joints ache and I am a little stiffer than usual...so, long story short I have to give up some of the manual things I enjoy.
...so sorry don't know why I got into this tonight...I am just tired I think.
I bet you are so excited about your new class list. Has it been determined which lovely little faces will sit in your presence...I'm sure you are top on their list of favorites.
tomorrow I will get a quote back on the pretty little clawfoot bed...so we will see if I have a upholsterer.
Well dear one off to a fluffy bed for me...wishing you a joy filled day dearest...love Rosie
Such a lovely post, with so many amazing images. It must take you hours to create this magic. I am sad that your time will take you to busyland for a season, but happy that you get to do what you love to do, which is to teach French. I can only imagine what a magical place your classroom must be, when someone as creative as you are teaches such a romantic language and culture to the children.
When I get lost in creating, it's as if I can touch Angels wings. So many times I have gotten lost in music, watching someone create, or reading words that took me deep within my heart.
The words and images that you chose are like a dance...weaving in and our of our imaginations beckoning us to take time to wander and join you, our creative muse.
Good Morning Anita.
Popping by to let you know that there are two Tuck's Candy shoppes within a block of each other that appear have a constant stream of shoppers in and out! When our pastor friend heard we were going to Rockport he put in an order for a pound of Swiss Chocolate! Toad Hall Bookstore is still there. I think they used to have childrens books upstairs. It's just bargain books, second hand and sale items up there now. Where is Marmion Way? Is that where you lived? I have pics from
Rocky Neck Art Colony too. They sure have fun with paint and color! SO FUN!
Wishing you a lovely day, my friend,
with more happy memories in the making!
Blessings!
Fabuleuses photos qui invitent aux rèves de princesse ! Merci pour ce doux moment dans tes pages que je découvre par hasard !
Inspiring as always, Anita! I love the photos you choose. And your words. Thank you for giving us all a moment of magic every time we visit you.
Kirsten
Amazing as always! Your posts are the most magical. Can't wait to hear more about your online magazine.
Thanks for the visit!!!
xoxo,
Rosemary
Hello my darling...
Oh what a lovely day it has been...I think this upholsterer will work just fine. Have you gotten your gorgeous settee back yet? How, oh how does it look...is it magical?!...This will be such a lovely addition to the wonderland you are creating.
Spent the morning running around...and the afternoon I was spent blissfully painting the day away...I too, have a settee in need of a make over...she has a his and her set of twin chairs as well...
Undecided...do I go white wood and cream faux leather{a good look...but safe}or do I go {Ben Moore__Rocky mountain sky(less intensity)...I think you know which direction I am leaning...a little crazy is always fun. We'll see if I am brave enough. So this will happen tomorrow.
Your living room must just be sooo lovely...I always feel so good with every thing in it's place...do tell!!! where did you put every thing? Your mantel is the crowning glory, I'm sure.
Have a fabulous day...painting smiles on each and every face that crosses your path...love...Rosie
Such a truly beautiful post Anita! The videos were amazing. Such talent and grace! Thank you so much for your inspiring posts. And thank you for the comments on my blog. Hubby is doing fine. I hope you are having a wonderful week...
dear anita,
i do not even feel worthy to visit this
splendidly enchanting place. your
creativity and gift stuns me.
my heart caught how close you do
get to the Divine Creator and how
close art and creativity is to His
nature.
the closest i ever get is in singing a
beautiful song.
love,
lea
Anita,
Lovely post. I have a question about your illustrations that you have on your homepage. Can you send me an email at whatwouldmarieantoinettedo at gmail.com? I'd love to talk to you about them. (I couldn't find your email on your site).
Thanks!
Mistress of the blog
Je vois que tu n'as pas chômé cet été,pas comme moi que la chaleur rend si paresseuse au point de délaisser la blogosphère!bravo pour ta contribution et vivement la suite!
val
greeting dearest...
Hoping you had a WONDER filled day...
Thank you sooo much for the lovely Email...Oh I just LOVE hearing about all the wonderful plans you and sweet Ruben have for this paradise you are masterfully creating...your chairs sound completely perfect...excitedly, I tried to open the snappies you sent me...but alas I could not_:(_would it be an imposition to ask you to send them one more time...I am sorry...but, I NEED TO SEE these chairs you speak of.
Well, I am sure, you must truly get tired of me talking of the day to day, white painting party that happens each and every day...I am a broken record...yup...once again today...more cloud white.
I am tired, and a bit sore today. Thank you for your concern. I have had EDS symptoms since age twelve, have had many clean up surgeries {as the cartilage bed is constantly flaking away.} I have a clean up scheduled in November sometime {timing is not so good}...I am so grateful to Him, that He gives me day to day strength, and has gifted me with four amazing ladies, who carry a lot of the weight of the store.
Things could always be worse... ahhh...we all have ailments and we just deal with them...thank you dearest.
Well have the BEST last day off before you are formally back be behind the desk...I will look forward to hearing each and every idea that "flitters" through that pretty little head of yours..
Off to bed now dear one...thank you for your always kind words...xoxo...love Rosie
My dear Anita
Had to stop in for just a moment. This is such an inspiring post and the images are beautiful..

Thank you so much Anita...I will remember that...improvize!!! And I will see you in the front row...OMG, how wonderful is that!!! It's going to be soooo much fun!!! Cheers to you dear one, Dzintra♥x
The gap isn't about before school shopping for jeans ... it's about the space between you and me, this and that - which we can fill with our magical, creative selves. What a beautiful post. I thoroughly enjoyed.
Do you have a follow button on your blog?
Congratulations on winning the award for what I assume is your magically beautiful gardened front lawn.
Bonjour!
What a perfect post, Anita! I loved every minute of it.
Hey Anita, thanks for coming by! And lovely to see your pretty post again - so much to see in there! OMG - it's raining cats and dogs here, and i MISS summer! Haven't had enough of it this year, aww, but what can we do? Yesterday i was baking with a friend, to do some photos with her kids, and it felt so like autumn. We'll need a lot of tea and cupcakes, to cheer us up :)
I am a Dreamer, and indeed so are you. Where would we be without our dreamy imaginations, our creativity, and a tiny glimpse into the Divine. What a positive person you are, that is so refreshing. And your hubby must be a real dream too, he is so in love and that is wonderful.
Anita, I am such a beginner with my harp, really. I do not practice enough, but I think I could be quite acceptable if I ever got serious. It is a simple lap harp, so simple, I named her Jane.
oops, left that on the wrong post. Send me your e-mail address, and I will try to give some advice on your question. Jeri jeri@hopalonggreetings.com
