Visions of Sugar Plums

I am SPENT. Et c'est l'heure d'aller au lit

so that I can dream

upon my bed

of sugar plums

and all things sweet

dancing in my head.

What better place is there to dream than your own hearth

where the dance of light

and the miracle of CHRISTmas BEGINS.

We have all started our journey towards LA LUMIÈRE

by decorating our homes

creating

and SHOPPING.

But we were meant to dReaM

and have visions of THE happily EVERAFter.

And one day, IT WILL come; but while the sounds of OUR celebrations come rushing in like thunder

GIVE yourself
moments of silence from time to time

and let in the dance of light that awaits us all.

Bonne nuit mes amies et faites de bons rêves!

Bonjour Anita,
What a wonderful winter dreamland you have created up here, my dear. I should come back here before I go to sleep, so that I dream of these surroundings. Last night I was sight seeing a big plant! It wasn't unpleasant though! I was in front of the group, not the real guide, but I had to choose the path. We should stay on the same floor, but the only thing I saw were stairs, in 3 directions, all going down. Mmmm now what should that mean? The only way is up! Don't you think? Enjoy your Christmas preparations and thank you again for fulfilling my request, bisous, LiLi

Dearest Anita, and what better place is there to dream than blogland, where nice friends like you have prepared such beautiful inspirations! Love all these images, so inviting and cozy - just what we need when we get inside after a walk in the cold! Polar bears, yes, they will soo move here i think! So cold. And the streets are full of ice, so we'd better take the train for a ride into town! Want to dress up like the women in your header today and need that plum hat! Have a gorgeous day and stay warm! xx

You make me wonder why I don't lay around in my bed more often and day dream! It's always up and coffee! Especially now when the dark lingers in winter, it would be very wicked indeed to pull the duvet up and let my imagination go. Perhaps I will... if the dog will let me!
Thanks for the lovely musings, Anita. I do wonder what your dream bed looks like... would it be all lace and canopy?

Anita . . . My heart, mind, and spirit have been lifted to places of eternity here this morning. Your God-gifted words, and these beautiful images . . . The music is so peaceful and beautiful. It has been a reminder of what heaven is like, even though nothing we can think or imagine is as beautiful as it shall be!

When life's hardships blind our eyes of the beauty of God, when we see only the 'now'. . . and the 'things to accomplish today' take over our hearts and minds, what a refeshing drink of cool thirst-quenching water it is to see the B E A U T Y through your eyes and to experience a bit of heaven on earth while visiting here.

It is the magic of CHRISTmas

Thank you,

Love Love Love!!!!

Oh...and the crowns... They are SPECTACULAR! I've been thinking of making something a little crown for my girl for Christmas.... She'd probably wear it when she cleans...

Hugs to you dear one....

I do believe, it's in the magic wand that we can dream. You must know by now that only a Fairy Godmother can create CHRISTmas as you do.

Your wand is magical. Somehow I can picture you down in the basement with glitter in your hair and wands everywhere.

Yes, when one is spent, we must dream and putter and put life in perspective...

All is calm and all is bright...I love you.

Oh dear heart I just finish a lovely cuppa with you, but alas, I fear it has been lost. So, I will just share with you, a quick thought.
Ahhhh....your magical evening was ever so enchanting. Those are the moments we must stop and savor. I too had a moment just like that, last night. I mentioned a few days ago that I previewed an estate sale...Well, my darling husband delivered a lovely mahogany, Victorian sideboard into my foyer so that I might clean and oil her. Late last night, I sat down on the bottom step, and began to dream, imagine, and envision her future. She will live in my upstairs hall way housing, linens, towels, apothecary jars and bathroom pretties...tomorrow.
After our cookie exchange...Yup, baked up MANY chocolate cherry cookies today, and am ready for a bit of fun tomorrow.
Ah, but this has been a long cuppa.
Sending you a hug and wishes for another day FULL of magic...love you dear one...Rosie

Good Morning Anita Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share this morning. I so love to come and see what you are going to bless me with and get my day off to a great start.

That bed of beautiful white linens looks so inviting and serene. The perfect place to crawl up into with a good book and a few hours to do nothing but travel to another place and time.

I love the sweets of course. They have always been my weakness. The ballerina makes me think of you sweet friend. Such beauty. She is breathtaking.

The hearth is so gorgeous. Just look at the detail, and I love all the cherubs surrounding it. Everything on the shelving just in its proper place too. Looks as though someone is doing a little reading and enjoying that fire in the fireplace. I love it.

I love that creation of the paper leaves and the flower petals and pearls. It looks like a crown. Just gorgeous and fit for a queen or princess perhaps?

Oh how I would love to stroll down that snow lined street and shop in the winterwonderland. Then pop in for a hot chocolate with peppermint stick to stir. Yum. Are you ready? Let's go.

And of course with the holiday coming, and the celebration of Christ, we must not forget the celebration of life.

Have a gorgeous day sweetie, and thank you for taking me to a beautiful place today. I love it when you do. Hope you have a gorgeous Monday sweetie. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

Bonjour ma chere amie, comment allez-vous? We are heading towards Mercredi deja. Time does fly in the month of December. Did the Christmas vibes already enter your classroom? In our school, they did. Every morning we enter the school in completely darkness, just a few candles are burning in the hallway. In the classes, the curtains are closed and the soft light of a few candles shines. In the big hall there will be violin music, piano, a children's choir, every morning something different for just 10 minutes tops. After that all the children walk silently to their own classroom to start the day. Us parents look and listen in the back of the big hall. That's the way we celebrate the Advent season in our school.
Much love for the rest of the week, dearest sweet Anita xxxx

Hi Anita,
What a beautiful post, and I love your new background and header. You always choose the most delightful images and write such inspirational words.

I have been lost in Christmas, visiting my mom in Vermont, and wrapping gifts to ship off to North Carolina and Pa. The house is full with my daughters and Ashley's new beau is living with us now. So, there has been lots of activity with shopping, wrapping and decorating the house.

Tomorrow I turn 62 and I have been noticing that I don't have the energy that I used to have, which makes decorating a bit slower.

I hope that you enjoy your class, I am sure it will lead you deep into the bliss of imagination.

Hey there dear heart,
My oh my, look what Bob and his Merry band are up to...This is so much fun, wishing...waiting...wondering...
If you and your dearest can have a few weeks of the holiday to paint and decorate that would be pure BLISS...
Last year between Christmas and New Years we revamped the store, filling, painting, flipping the store. It was a far B I G G E R job than I realized. We managed to get it all done, but I was soooo tired. This year will be spent with my kids, Bill, and extended family...I can not wait!
Now if Bill suggested a small project...you know I would NEVER say no. Infact, although I have a little surgery in January, I would LOVE to do a little something in February...it will probably be to finish the side yard if it stays mild enough. We'll see.
Wrapped all the kids presents today...and picked up a few more goodies for them this afternoon...yes, I know I said I was finished, but this is how it plays out EVERY year. I love this time of year.
Will say goodnight now...and wish you a perfect day tomorrow...hug my dear friend...Rosie

Anita dear, there's magic in your words. And yes, moments of silence to me are brilliant (and necessary). I feel peace with myself so I tend to have happy thoughts - that I get to listen to once in a while :-) What a beautiful post. You are the master at finding the perfect images for your beautiful poetry. Have a blessed, joyful day, my friend.

Anita, so much snow here! But now, it starts dripping from all the trees! In Austria, we'll visit my bro and family in a lovely house that is like a second home to us. My grandparents lived there, and now my brother keeps it as a holiday place. In Munich we'll be at my sisters. Family everywhere! But it's so rare that we see each other, so. i'm happy! But your building site is the biggest present, isn't it? So good to see it grow. Have a cozy evening!

Hello Sweet Friend.
Oh dear girl, I knew it, I just knew you were loved by all...ahhhh, a thank you note from one of your young admirers. This is so delightful. See what a difference you make in these young lives. They are so very fortunate and blessed to have you.
How exciting to drive home to see what has newly emerged in your back yard...I remember coming home from the shop (when we were in the middle of our main floor reno} wondering what would be new when I arrived home...it was a very anxious time...happy and frustrating too.
Lived out in my workshop today, finally getting to the hood on my baby buggy...It is quite a challenge, as the fabric is so old, when I lay it out to use it as a pattern, it literally disintegrates in my hand. Hoping to finish it up tomorrow. Will do a bit of running around tomorrow and then back to the workshop.
Well dear one, I must get to making supper and then it is off to bed...have a fine day my dear, filled with the merriment of this magical season...xoxoxxo...Rosie

Hello dear one,
This is such a perfect reality check, and great opportunity to help those precious underprivileged children find a bit of happiness at this time of the year.
This is such a wonderful field trip...and you do this every year? WOW!
So last night the phone rings, and it is my helper, telling me that the day was very busy....and the jewelery sideboard SOLD.... WHAT!!!..when is it being picked up?...tomorrow morning...OH OH!!!...this sideboard houses A LOT of jewelery...YIKES.So last night started prepping and painting a lovely dresser. Ordered mirror for the top flat surface this morning {so we don't have to wait for the paint to cure before we can display items)...gave this pretty girl a satiny, shimmery new outfit and sparkly glass knobs and pulls...ahhhhh....she is done, and so am I...But she is oh so, so pretty. It makes it all worth while...but that was a long day, and I am a bit sore. I am off to have a HOT bath. Have a relaxing, rejuvenating week end my dear friend...hugs and kisses...Rosie

Anita, a SNOWSTORM, OMG, that sounds so dramatic - and i'm glad you and Rben can stay warm and safe in your cute cottage and look at the progress of your building-site. French doors - wow, that sound fabulous, and will be a dream once it's finished - so you! Here. the snow melted away and it's just humid and ghastly. I did boring things like ironing and cleaning, but sometimes, that's just the right thing and makes me feel better. Maybe tomorrow i can be creative again. Please tell me, how the storm was like, when it's over, i'm with you in my thoughts! xx
