I Believe

Spring showers are awakening earth's dormant life today

but the raindrops on my window pane

roll down streams of tears for me.

It's raining outside mama, and I can't see you

but I BELIEVE

I WILL see you again.

Your great beauty did not reflect back from a looking

glass

nor does it hang from a delicate memory

but rather it REMAINS

in the simplicity and strength of your

CHARACTER

I still have the little plastic dolly you dressed up

and gave to me

the morning you died.

For 29 years, you taught me how to live

and in one last courageous breath

you taught me how to die.

I WILL see you again, Mama.

Your little girl who believes,

~Anita~

Anita, you've brought tears to my eyes with this one ~ an incredibly touching post to your precious mother. I'm fortunate to still have my mom. She is 96. My sadness came in my early 20s when I lost my dad. Life was forever changed for me that day.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful thoughts. You are an amazing individual. ~ sarah

Your mom was such a kind woman, Anita. I didn't know her long but she always treated me nothing less than her own son.

Your own kindness and inner beauty no doubt come from her.

And Mrs Robinson, is such a SMART mama...SHE KNOWS WHAT TO DO. Ahhh but we love them, and we just want all to go well. We had two nests on the front porch last year, tucked into each of the corners, that the neighborhood finches were "leasing". They took a LONG time to show up this year, and apparently the accommodations were NOT "up to snuff" because now, we now have a NEW nest, right "smack dab in the middle" of the other two...Ah, the more, the merrier. It would be SO wonderful if they would stay all year round, but they are only there for a few short weeks, to raise their babies, then they're gone.
Oh YOUR babies are going to be so excited to see you back. THEY LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH. And to think summer vacation is just around the corner...YIPPEE...YOU CAN DO IT!

ON the menu, you ask? A little tribute to summer...creamy potato salad, fresh buns, apple coleslaw, and rosemary roast chicken...and for desert, a strawberry shortcake with a dollop of lemon zested whip cream. Oh, I can't wait for those hot summer days.
Needless to say, I did NOT get outside work done today...TOMORROW, I must get out there tomorrow. There are not enough hours in the day.

Anita, this is one of your most beautiful posts ever! Your mother raised a caring, lovely, loving daughter!

I think of mine every day; so many thing remind me of her. Cooking, recipes, jewelry, photos, antiques...all the things she gave me, but most of all, her love, her strength and determination.
I hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day!

Oh Anita 29 is too young to loose your mother ! And for your mother that must have been very hard too !
She can be so very proud ! You are such a loving caring person .
I lost my mother when I was 49 and still wished she could be here .
When I was little my mother typed on such an old but black typewriter. With 10 fingers without looking ! Magical to me !
She would have loved the computer !
My son who is going to be a father , and his Vanessa gave me a subscription for a magazine . Its a magazine for GRANDPARENTS !
You know I love magazines and this one is new for me !
The weather overhere is so so very summerish beautiful and warm . Looks like summer allready !
Have warm days and evenings sweet friend

Good sunny afternoon dear Anita! I hope the sun is shining for you today inside and out! I hope that you are getting things wrapped up for the end of school. Do you take the summer off or do other things? That would be so wonderful to enjoy the summer days any way you please. :)
Have a beautiful day!

Beauty flows from a heart of a womens soul, you are the soul of that women, and what beauty is within.

Your Mom is sure proud of her daughter, and your testimony to being all that we can be!

I am not sure if I left a message, but your words are incredibly moving and tender! You and her were too young to part! But it's not in our power to help it! You will see her again, just believe this and the love you got from her to carry along for as long as you shall live!
I guess I can see were the lovingness and longing in your posts comes from!
Much love!

Hello, Anita
Yes, your comment on my post for Blogger came through.
Oh! And I absolutely love all of the photos on the Faerie Tale post before this one. So Charming!
And Claude Debussey and Clair de Lune was and always has been one of my favorites...when I was younger and very much in love with love with a romantic Victorian girl's heart, I would swoon when I heard Clair de Lune and would literally weep to have my own true love. Gosh! Fairy Tales have such an influence on young girls and young boys...not that life is perfect after marriage...the books and movies never do show what follows 'happily ever after'...
Have a lovely day!

THank God I believe also

It helps to know this but I sure miss my Mother. I only knew 3 weeks before she died that she had cancer. It took years to get over the shock

I talk to her and feel her presence sometimes

Hi Anita...
You and I share in this... the loss of our mothers at such a tender age.
I was only 23. I was a newlywed ~ married barely six months. My youngest is 23 now... and I can not imagine that I was that young...and that it's been that long.

I can still feel my mother's presence near me ~ there are times that just amaze me and I know that her love continues regardless of time.

I believe the circle is unbroken for those who love ♥ and we will be together again with our beloved mothers ~
Beautiful post, Anita! Thank you for stopping by today ~ I'm always grateful for your "company."
*blessings always*

This post has touched me deeply this morning Anita. Just knowing you lets me know what kind of a woman your mother was and is. I love how you weave words into a beautiful story EVERY time you post. Whenever I come here I feel that I have been transported to a magical place EVERY time!!!

I am so sorry that I have been absent so much Anita, I am having a hard time keeping up with everything right now. It always feels like I have gone on vacation after coming here, so I thank you for your beautiful posts. They make my day!

Hello Anita
I just found your blog today and am reading your early postings. Such pleasure. You are a gifted writer.
I am sorry to read your mother left this world when you and her were so young. My mother is also in heaven. I love the doll your mother made for you. My mother made me a doll using potatoes, seashells for eyes and seaweed for hair. We grew up by the ocean and her dolls were a regular items for us. Many of our dolls got left by the shore and the tide swept them away. My sister almost drowned one time, swimming after her doll.
Thank you for sharing this poignant personal story.
Lifting you up in prayer
Helen
